Zoey Deutch Reacted To Glen Powell Wanting To Do Another Rom-Com (And We Need To Set This Up ASAP)

If you’re a rom-com fan, chances are you’ve already laughed and cried over Zoey Deutch’s new movie, Voicemails For Isabelle (currently streaming via Netflix subscription). But this isn’t her first hit in the genre. Back in 2018, she and Glen Powell had electric chemistry in a movie called Set It Up, and no, thankfully they haven’t forgotten how great of a duo they were in that movie.

Glen Powell’s career kind of blew up since starring in Set It Up, with roles in Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You and Twisters. But, the actor still wants to do another romantic comedy with Zoey Deutch. Here’s what he said earlier this year while at the How To Make A Killing premiere:

I’ve got to spend a lot of time with Zoey recently, and we have talked over the years about what that moment is. And I think we’re probably getting closer to it now more than ever. I really do, because she’s the best and one of the most talented actresses we have. One of my great friends, and I’d love to team back up with her. We’ll see. Maybe we can get Katie Silberman to write a sequel.

It’s been eight years since it came out, but Set It Up is still one of the best romantic comedies Netflix has ever made, and it sounds like Glen Powell knows it. He mentioned a deep interest in teaming back up with his friend Zoey Deutch on another movie, and he even dropped the “s” word (sequel). Here’s how Deutch recently reacted to USA Today when made aware of his comments:

Iran Oscar Nominee Jafar Panahi Was Invited to Karlovy Vary 2026

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) was really hoping to welcome Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi (It Was Just An Accident) to its 60th edition and 80th anniversary edition in the Czech spa town. But a travel ban for the Oscar nominee and another prison sentence that he is facing in Iran shattered that hope.

In early June, an Iranian court upheld a verdict finding Panahi guilty of “propaganda against the regime,” a sentence of one year in prison and a two-year travel ban. The Cannes Palme d’Or 2025 winner is also prohibted from joining political and social groups and associations.

The Czech festival had eyed Panahi as a guest as part of the creative team behind Hijamat, a Crystal Globe competition movie from Iranian director Nader Saeivar (The Witness), which was produced and edited by Panahi. The film, starring Kida Khodr Ramadan, Moritz Bleibtreu and Nastassja Kinski, focuses on Murad, 50, whose life is “shaken to the core when he learns that his younger brother is gay,” according to a synopsis. “Murad would like to support his brother, but their traditional Muslim family is against it. As a result, he finds himself subjected to pressures from all sides – from his father, who has close ties to the local imam, and from his brother’s circle of friends as well.”

“We were in touch with Mr. Panahi because we were helping to release his film It Was Just an Accident in Czech cinemas in January, so we did some online interviews” for that, KVIFF artistic director Karel Och tells THR. “Because of his crucial involvement in Hijamat, we wanted him to come with the team. It was a plan until the day we found out about his passport being taken away.”

That left Och and the KVIFF team with a mix of feelings. “Obviously, we’re very sad,” he says. “We just can’t stop admiring this man, not just for his artistry, but also for his human approach and his courage, which is just jaw-dropping. And it’s not just Mr. Panahi.”

Indeed, KVIFF has screened films from Iran filmmakers, including Soheil Beiraghi‘s fourth feature, Bidad (Outcry), which last year won the Special Jury Prize, and also featured a 2023 retrospective of Iranian underground cinema. “We know how Iranian filmmakers who are dealing with certain elements and topics in their movies are aware of the consequences, yet they are fearless,” Och explains. “And that’s something that is really mind-blowing and something to marvel at.”

Och highlights that in its selection, the KVIFF programming team looks for “the art of film, but also something with strong political commentary,” explaining: “We would probably not screen a film which is just a statement, but we are always really happy and keen to support a good film which has a political tone and very clear political ideas.”

Steve Lacy and SZA Unveil New ‘Is It Cool?’ Single

The duo trade verses on the candid and vulnerable track

Steve Lacy and SZA have unveiled their new collaborative single, “Is It Cool?”

The candid lyrics see Lacy confessing to his self-sabotaging habits as he sings, “I just cheat every now and again/That was hard for me to admit/’Cause I really want commit.” His intimate vocals weave into SZA’s verse as she proposes, “Being vulnerable is exhausting, babe/Can we get naked instead of talking, babe?”

In August 2025, Lacy spoke with Rolling Stone about his upcoming album, Oh Yeah?, arriving July 17 via RCA Records. The follow-up to 2022’s Gemini Rights was written, performed, and produced by Lacy, who focuses the new album on transparency and personal lyrics.

“I feel safe enough and close enough to start talking about it now, and get the title out and just get the energy in the air,” Lacy said of his upcoming album. “I’ve never worked where I kind of announce it while I’m still working on it. I feel like rappers work until the last minute.”

Oh Yeah? will arrive four years after the release of Lacy’s Grammy-winning album Gemini Rights. He told Rolling Stone he began work on this next album shortly after: “I just kind of got in the studio right away. I’m always making things. It’s just what I do to hang out. I just make beats.”

Lacy previously released “Nice Shoes,” a single that he described as a “trailer” for his new record and teases new sonic territory for the musician.

To support his third studio album, Lacy will perform at a series of tour dates across Asia this summer, including headlining slots at Summer Sonic and Lalala festival.

Alexis Alexiou Completes Third Feature Sea of Glass, Unveils Trailer

Greek writer/director Alexis Alexiou has unveiled his third feature and his first since 2015’s award-winning “Wednesday 04.45.”

“Sea of Glass,” now complete, is a country noir road movie following two women in an off-season Greek seaside resort who unexpectedly come together to confront the past, family stereotypes and the closed provincial community. The film has already been acquired by Greek boutique distributor Weird Wave (“Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,” “I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning, “It was Just an Accident”) with a theatrical release scheduled for Greece and Cyprus this fall.

Co-written by Afroditi Nikolaidou and Alexiou, the film stars Evangelia Adreadaki (“Arcadia,” “Little England”) and Christiana Matelska Toka in her debut feature role, alongside Michalis Iatropoulos (“Cheap Smokes,” “Digger”), Nikos Georgakis (“Truants”), Thanos Tokakis (“Tokakis or What’s My Name”) and Dimitris Tzoumakis (“Wednesday 04:45”). Simon Sarketzis (“Little England,” “Behind The Haystacks”) served as cinematographer.

“Sea of Glass” follows 65-year-old Vangelio, who is a prisoner in her own home, caring for her bedridden husband. Trapped in her routine and cut off from her two sons, she makes do with leafing through her collection of old guidebooks. But the sudden death of her husband encourages her to make a ‘reckless’ decision: to go on holiday. She books a room at a tourist resort a few kilometres outside Chalkida, the capital of Evia. It’s March in the off-season, and there are very few people around. At the fish tavern below the rental property, she meets 23-year-old Vicky, who runs the family business and looks after her difficult alcoholic father, who spends his days drinking with his buddies. One evening, when he turns on his daughter, Vangelio steps in to protect her. Violence rears its ugly head in the small seaside town, and like the waves of the stormy sea, the impact will be devastating.

Inspired by films including “Thelma & Louise” and “The Postman Always Rings Twice,” the film grafts elements from the rural gothic noir tradition and road movies onto the Greek countryside, and is described as a “compelling and poignant story focussing on two women thrown into an unexpected alliance.”

Said Alexiou: “What connects them and poisons both their lives is domestic violence and oppression. But they are also linked by a common goal: the need to break free and find themselves.”

Alexis’ first feature “Tale 52” played in competition at Rotterdam and more than 40 other festivals, including Toronto and Sitges, where it won the best screenplay award. His second film “Wednesday 04:45” screened in competition at Tribeca and at numerous festivals including Karlovy Vary and BFI London. The film received nine awards from the Hellenic Film Academy, including best film and best Director. Both films were voted best Greek Film of the year by the Greek Film Critics Association. In 2022 Alexis directed “Iota Period Omega,” a short sci-fi docufiction entirely shot on 8mm which was presented in competition at Dok Leipzig.

“Sea of Glass” is a Greece-Bulgaria-Cyprus co-production, produced by Tugo Tugo Productions in Greece in co-production with Portokal (Bulgaria) and Bark Like a Cat Films (Cyprus) and in collaboration with Felony Film (Cyprus), Marni Films (Greece), Jungle Films (Greece) and Cinnerent (Serbia). It was made with the support of the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center, ERT, Eurimages, Creative Europe, the Bulgarian National Film Center, Film Center Serbia, the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Office in Greece and the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture.

Edmonton Elks beat Blue Bombers 23-18

WINNIPEG – It has become the Elks mantra this season – they just keep finding a way to win.

After blowing a 17-point lead and trailing by a point midway through the fourth quarter, Edmonton quarterback Cody Fajardo found TJ Luther with an eight-yard touchdown pass with 53 seconds left as the Elks pulled out a 23-18 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday night.

“We’re not playing our best ball all throughout four quarters,” Fajardo said. “But what we are doing is we’re playing our best ball at critical times.

“And when you do that, you’re going to win more games than you’re going lose.”

Fajardo completed 25 of 35 passes for 267 yards. Running back Justin Rankin rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries.

“Cody was awesome on offence, man,” Luther said. “He kept us all together, even when the crowd was loud and we couldn’t hear anything. He kept us together until the end of the game.”

Fajardo had led the Elks to victory over the Montreal Alouettes in overtime last week.

“We talk about it all the time – finding ways to win and that’s what Cody and the offence did when he needed it the most,” said Elks head coach Mark Kilam. “They drove down and got points.”

“Nobody’s messing with us,” Luther said. “I feel like we’ve got the best team in the league. I just feel very confident in our team. We all play together and are very assignment-oriented.”

Backup quarterback Cole Snyder scored on a one-yard plunge. Vincent Blanchard kicked a 15-yard field goal and had two converts.

Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros almost pulled off a comeback after falling behind 17-0 in the first half in front of a sellout crowd of 32,343 at Princess Auto Stadium.

He completed 24 of 33 passes for 290 yards and had touchdown tosses of 26 yards to Tim White and 14 yards to Brady Oliveira.

Sergio Castillo, who missed two field goals, did connect on a 53-yarder, kicked both converts and added a single.

The Elks converted two of three Bomber fumbles into 10 points as they jumped out to a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

“We made way too many mistakes,” said Oliveira, who rushed for 77 yards and added 45 yards and a TD on six catches. “When we did turn it on a bit, it was too late.”

Collaros was guilty of one of those giveaways.

“You can’t turn the ball over,” he said. “You’ve got to play a clean game, stay on the football field.”

Oliveira and Dante Daniels had the other fumbles.

“When you have turnover problems, that’s the type of result you’re going to get,” said Bombers receiver Nic Demski. “We preach ball security and didn’t take care of the ball the way we wanted to.”

Story continues below advertisement

The Bombers also lost both receiver Ontaria Wilson and defensive lineman Jake Ceresna to injury. There was no update available during post-game interviews.

The Elks did not panic after Winnipeg erased their 17-0 lead and went up 18-17.

“We weren’t worried,” Luther said. “We’ve been in that position before, so we already knew what we had to do to get out of it and we just knew we had to lock in and focus on what our assignment was.”

The Elks are proving they are for real, Fajardo said.

“There’s been a narrative about this organization over the last six years and all I want to do and what these guys want to do is change that narrative,” he said. “We do that by starting 3-0.

“The CFL is a long season. Just because you start 3-0 doesn’t mean you’re going to keep winning. You’re going to have your rough patches but when you have those rough patches, you’ve got to find a way to persevere like we did tonight and find ways to win games.”

“We were in our bag,” Hart wrote on Instagram. He said the video “delivered funny on so many levels.” He also said he had “real laughing tears” from watching the finished product.

That’s a strong reaction, even by Hart’s standards.

Hart has been one of the highest-profile comedians in the country for years. His stand-up specials have sold out arenas on multiple tours. His film career covers everything from buddy comedies to animated features. He’s been active on social media for a long time, and his followers have seen him promote plenty of things over the years. Describing something as funny on multiple levels is one thing. Adding “real laughing tears” is a step above his usual caption energy.

Druski built his name through character comedy online. His short skits center on deadpan personas placed in absurd situations, and the format spread fast across Instagram. He’s crossed over into music video appearances and worked with major names in hip-hop. His style leans on full commitment to the bit without breaking, and it’s made him one of the more distinctive voices in social media comedy.

Kai Cenat came up through Twitch. His streams grew from gaming sessions into full-scale events. They pull hundreds of thousands of live viewers at peak. He’s hosted multiday marathon streams with guests from entertainment, sports, and music. His transition from streaming into wider celebrity territory has been one of the more notable moves in digital media over the past few years. His audience is large, young, and very online.

Getting all three in the same video is a real crossover moment. Hart covers the mainstream film side. Druski brings social media virality and character-comedy chops. Cenat brings his enormous online following and live-stream energy. The combined reach across all three is wide.

Hart kept his caption simple. He didn’t break down what’s in the video, didn’t attach a project, and didn’t name a brand. He watched the finished cut, laughed until he cried, and told people to go see it. That was the pitch.

No bigger announcement followed the post. There’s no word on a series, a tour connection, or what brought the three together for this particular collaboration.

For now, it’s a standalone comedy video. All three of them are genuinely funny, and it shows.

Hart’s word carries some weight here. He’s been in this business long enough. He knows when a bit works. He says this one does.

The video is on his Instagram now.

Intel’s Chip Business Shows Signs of Life After Years of Struggle

At a tech conference in San Francisco this week, admirers surrounded Lip-Bu Tan, the chief executive of Intel, waiting to take selfies with a man few of them had heard of before last year.

The spectacle made Matthew Sysak, a senior executive at the tech company Lumentum, shake his head. Watching from a few feet away, he compared the attention on Mr. Tan to the industry’s rock star treatment of Jensen Huang, the chief executive of the chip maker Nvidia, now the world’s most valuable company.

“It’s a traveling circus,” he said in disbelief.

Not long ago, Intel, which was once one of the most powerful tech companies in the world, was described as Silicon Valley’s fallen icon. Sales were plummeting, costs soaring and debts mounting. The U.S. government intervened last summer and took a 10 percent stake in the company.

Now, Intel is showing signs of a turnaround. Its value has more than tripled to $650 billion, its business has started to rebound behind the artificial intelligence boom, and it has added big customers like Nvidia and Apple.

The stakes are high for the company and Mr. Tan, who took over in March last year. Intel is a cornerstone of the U.S. government’s push to rebuild the nation’s semiconductor manufacturing and wean Silicon Valley off its dependence on Taiwan.

If Intel is unable to turn itself around now — when nearly the entire chip industry is cashing in on A.I. — a fix may not possible, said Chris Miller, the author of “Chip War,” a book that recounts the rise of the semiconductor industry.

“As the only American manufacturer of cutting-edge chips — and the only firm with its high-end research in the U.S. — Intel’s fate will shape the future of America’s chip industry and determine the extent to which the country relies on Taiwan,” Mr. Miller said.

Less than a year ago, President Trump demanded that Mr. Tan step down as Intel’s chief executive because of concerns that the company he previously led had illegally sold chip technology to China. Days later, the two met and negotiated a deal for the government to take the 10 percent stake for $8.9 billion. The money was the remainder of a federal grant that Intel had been promised through the CHIPS and Science Act, a bipartisan law aimed at making the United States less reliant on Asia for semiconductors.

The investment was a shot in the arm, said Sanjay Natarajan, a senior executive with Intel’s manufacturing business until last year. It helped lift the company’s market value and signaled that the U.S. government had a vested interest in rebuilding Intel’s business.

“The Trump administration was clearly picking winners and losers,” Mr. Natarajan said. “They signaled they want Intel to do well.”

It was unclear then if the administration’s involvement would be a blessing or a burden. But in the months that followed, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick began pressuring tech leaders to work with Intel, including Mr. Huang of Nvidia, Elon Musk of SpaceX and Tim Cook of Apple, said a senior administration official who wasn’t authorized to speak publicly.

The pressure came as A.I. reshaped the chip market. Tech giants were pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into chips for data centers. A.I. personal assistants known as agents — relying on chips called central processing units, or CPUs, Intel’s signature product — gained popularity. At the same time, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which makes more than 90 percent of the world’s advanced semiconductors, was flooded with more orders than it could fill.

Intel, which opened a factory near Phoenix that uses new technologies to make denser, more energy-efficient chips, immediately began to benefit from the new dynamics. In September, Nvidia said it would invest $5 billion in Intel and use custom-made Intel CPUs in personal computers and data centers. Intel shares rose 23 percent on the news.

In May, Mr. Musk and Mr. Tan agreed that Intel would provide its technology to support a chip-making operation that Mr. Musk is developing called Terafab. And in recent months, Apple, which is among the world’s largest chip customers, agreed to begin manufacturing a small portion of its laptop chips at Intel’s factories as early as 2027, four people familiar with the confidential agreement said. Some smartphone chips may follow.

After Intel spent five years developing new technologies but failing to net a major customer, the deals were a win, Mr. Miller said.

Representatives for Mr. Musk and Apple did not respond to requests for comment.

Each deal carries major caveats. In the agreement with Nvidia, each company will be selling the product, which means the amount of money that Intel makes on each chip can depend on who sells it, said three people close to the company, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the confidential agreement.

The agreements with Mr. Musk and Apple hinge on Intel’s progress with a new manufacturing process it is developing called 14A. This fall, it has promised to deliver those companies a tool kit to test the technology before final commitments, one of the people close to Intel said.

In the face of that uncertainty, Mr. Tan has pushed the company to cut costs. It has reduced staff through layoffs and attrition to around 78,500 employees, from the 108,900 it had when he arrived. It wants to eventually be a 75,000-person company.

The rise of A.I. agents has revived Intel’s data center sales. In April, it struck a deal to sell custom data center chips to Google and reported that quarterly sales of data center and A.I. products had risen 22 percent from a year earlier, to $5.1 billion.

But the company continues to lose money and market share. Its share of chips sold for servers has declined from nearly 100 percent a decade ago to about 65 percent, according to Bernstein Research, which says Arm and Advanced Micro Devices have gained with superior technology.

In April, Intel said revenue in its first quarter had risen 7 percent from a year earlier to $13.6 billion, but it recorded a loss of $3.7 billion, including a $2.5 billion operating loss in its manufacturing business.

Catching up to rivals won’t be easy. Intel has reduced what it spends to develop future technology and last year slashed nearly 90 percent from its budget for Intel Labs, its research group that has produced features to make chips more powerful and efficient, said two former employees who spoke anonymously about the business changes.

Intel needs the A.I. boom to stay red hot. The company’s losses are expected to fade next year as it wraps up years of aggressive spending to build chip factories in Arizona and New Mexico. Bernstein Research predicts that Intel will report a profit of $4.7 billion in 2027.

Mr. Tan knows the turnaround has only just begun. He has told friends that he expects it to take a minimum of five years, said John Shoven, who was the chairman of Cadence Design Systems, the chip company Mr. Tan previously led.

“He knew this was not going to be quick,” Mr. Shoven said. “It’s a long road to go, but he’s off to a good start.”

Millie Bobby Brown to ‘Stranger Things’ Fans: ‘Shut Up’ About Conformity Gate

Millie Bobby Brown had a message for “Stranger Things” fans who pushed the secret ninth episode theory for the Netflix drama’s fifth and final season: “Shut up.”

The actress, who played Eleven on all five seasons of the Duffer Brothers-created series, touched on the final episode during a Thursday appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Given Brown hadn’t been on the late night show since before her character’s presumed death at the end of Season 5, she admitted it was really hard to “lie to everyone” about the conclusion.

“Everybody’s like, ‘What happens?’ I’m like, ‘She dies. She dies. She dies. She dies,’” Brown said. “It’s so hard, because it’s all that plays in my head. And I wore black the whole press tour, because I was mourning her.’”

However, later on in her chat with Jimmy Fallon, Brown made it clear that only she and the Duffer Brothers know Eleven’s true fate – which was left up in the air with Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and company stating they chose to believe their friend survived the final showdown.

“Do you believe?” Brown then asked Fallon’s studio audience. “You have to. For my mental health, I need to believe. It took a real toll on me, saying goodbye to such an impactful show that’s changed my life forever.”

She added: “I think … it took a real toll on all of us. But, for me, I had to believe. Because, if I didn’t, I couldn’t come to terms with the goodbye. She’s out there somewhere.”

At this moment, Fallon mentioned fans’ extra finale theory, noting, “And then with the finale … They’re like, ‘It isn’t the finale. There’s an extra finale.’”

To which Brown responded: “Oh my gosh, shut up!”

“What more could you want?” Fallon jumped back in. “Yes, I said that’s a great ending. You had enough. Everything got solved. Everyone scored. It was like the greatest ending ever.”

Brown co-signed this sentiment, offering up a “Yep,” before defending the open-ended ending.

“You know what, the Duffer Brothers and I, we’ve made a secret pact that we know the true ending,” she added. “And whatever they choose to do with that information they do. Even my husband’s like, ‘Just tell me.’ Absolutely not!”

For those who missed the viral theory (called Conformity Gate), it cropped up on TikTok and social media last winter after the Season 5 finale dropped New Year’s Eve and pointed to a number of alleged Easter eggs and clues in the 45-minute epilogue.

These clues ranged from people at the graduation standing like Vecna to the D&D books lining up to say “X A LIE,” seemingly hinting that what happened in Dimension X/The Abyss didn’t play out like everyone saw.

Yet, when January 7 (the suspected release day) came and went and no bonus episode dropped, fans were forced to admit that “Stranger Things” really was over.

Watch Brown’s full “Tonight Show” interview above.

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.

DGA Members Overwhelmingly Ratify New Deal With Studios, Streamers

In a far far cry from the severe strikes of three years ago, the studios and streamers tonight heaped nothing but praise and good will on the Hollywood guilds as the DGA became the final of the Big Three to approve a new four-year contract

“The AMPTP congratulates the DGA on ratifying its new contract,” an Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers spokesperson told Deadline late Thursday as members of the Christopher Nolan-led Directors Guild of America “overwhelmingly” voted to ratify a longer than traditional deal. “This agreement delivers historic contributions to the guild’s health plan, meaningful wage and residuals improvements, and strong job protections,” the Greg Hessinger-run AMPTP added.

Despite initial opposition from the WGA, SAG-AFTRA and the DGA to anything more than a three-year deal, tonight big vote by the almost 20,000 members of the Director’s union is a smooth victory for the AMPTP in an otherwise rocky industry.

Cutting and pasting from the scribes and actors agreements, the new DGA deal codifies big healthcare plan contributions, seeks to build in AI safeguards, and puts strict protections in place for professional small screen directors over actors and other stepping to the other side of the camera. There are also wages and residual increases in the new contract. Giving the C-suite gang the stability of a longer fixed deal, the new DGA contract contains a pinky promise that CEOs will lean on the Trump administration and Congress for a national Film and TV tax credit program “when it is strategically advantageous to do so.”

“With the spring 2026 bargaining cycle now complete, the AMPTP thanks the DGA, WGA, and SAG-AFTRA for their thoughtful and collaborative approach to negotiations,” the Alliance stated Thursday. “Together, we reached agreements that deliver substantial gains for guild members while supporting greater stability across the entertainment business. We are encouraged by the trust built throughout this cycle and look forward to building on that momentum to advance opportunity and shared success across our industry.”

The tentative DGA deal was revealed on June 9 after around a month of talks between the parties. Less than a week later, the Guild’s National Board of Directors unanimously voted to recommend ratification to the membership. Today, the majority of voting members said “Yes.”

“Throughout this process, our focus was clear: protect our members, strengthen the Guild, and address the challenges facing our industry during a period of profound change,” DGA brass told members Thursday after ratification was achieved. “This incredible show of support from our membership for this new contract shows the strength of our unity and our solidarity.”

Unlike in a number of contentious past negotiation rounds, the DGA ratification today of the AMPTP deal finds the Guilds all signed off before their current contracts had expired. In the case of the DGA themselves, their current contract was set to end on June 30.

Following a few stops and starts, SAG-AFTRA reached a deal with the AMPTP on May. 2 The actors approved the deal in the early days of June. Going first for one-on-talks with studios and streamers, the WGA ratified its own deal with the AMPTP on April 24

‘Strung’ Review: A Tease of a Thriller

In the thriller “Strung” — directed by Malcolm D. Lee — an elegantly coifed stranger overhears Laila (the singer-songwriter Chloe Bailey) playing the violin for a classroom of schoolchildren and offers her a job tutoring her granddaughter ahead of a piano recital. “When you started to play, I just had to stop and listen,” Audra (a fabulous all-in Lynn Whitfield) oozes.

Laila has been crashing at her best friend’s home, practicing for auditions and working on compositions. She’s also been having nightmares about the young sister she lost. She could use some economic stability, and a place to stay.

Even before the gates to the mansion swing open, Laila is wowed. Then she meets Zuri (Romy Woods). That her musical ward wears a striking white-painted African wooden mask — all the time — may be the first, but is hardly the last sign of familial strain in this upscale, increasingly unstrung, household.

The mansion’s other inhabitants include Imani (Anna Diop), Audra’s pregnant daughter and the actual owner of the house, and Marcus (Lucien Laviscount), Imani’s husband. Zuri is the child Imani had from another relationship, a rapper who was Marcus’s best friend.

There’s something conspiratorial afoot — it’s not just between the characters. The filmmaker clearly wants the viewer to note the lingering handshake, the briefly twitching eye. And he overwhelms more subtle themes — about the trauma of unexpected loss, about honoring intuition — with the soapiest dangerous liaison. “Strung” doesn’t exactly unravel, but it delivers more of the pleasures of a near-camp mash up than the emotional stakes of a psychological thriller.

Thabsie returns after nine years with new EP ‘While You Wait’

It’s been nine years since singer and songwriter Thabsie dropped her debut album “Songs About You,” and now she is back with a new EP, “While You Wait”.

A fitting title, “While You Wait,” lays the foundation for Thabsie’s soon-to-come sophomore album, under her independent label Song Bird Entertainment.

Known to be very intentional about her music releases and never rushing to release music, Thabsie explained to IOL that she doesn’t think the timing ever feels right, but you just have to take the leap and hope everything will work out.

“I missed my first love, which is music, so the time could not be better.”

The R&B project is about the emotional roller coaster of being in a romantic relationship. It speaks to the tug-of-war of the acknowledgment of being in a bad relationship, but battling with an indescribable emotional pull that keeps drawing you back.

When it comes to her sound since her debut album, Thabsie remarks that it has evolved immensely. “I’ve been spending years in the studio experimenting, honing my sound and growing, especially as a songwriter.”

The EP also comes with songs including interpolations from the early 2000’s hit house song “Once Again” by Harrison Crump, and a fusion of legendary local hits from Mina Nawe’s “Where I should be”, and DJ Tira’s “Won’t Let Go”.

Thabsie is no stranger to collaborations, with some of her greatest work being when she worked with other artists. “My whole career is defined by collaborations; that’s what I love the most about it. You can’t create without collaboration.

“I was blessed enough to work on this EP with people that I admired, very talented producers and songwriters.”

The EP also has a surprise feature with award-winning Hip-Hop favourite Emtee on the opening track titled “Good Time”. Working with Emtee was like a dream come true and the cherry on top for Thabsie.

Over the years, the musician, Bathabise Vokwana, known by her supporters as Thabsie, has evolved into an entrepreneur and digital content creator.

Over the years, Thabsie has also shown her strengths as a digital content creator. Working with various brands, travelling the world, and doing it all at her own pace.

“Content creation came at a time when I wanted to pivot,” explained Thabsie.

“It has shown me that I can create outside of the music as well. It’s become a big passion of mine and an outlet to express all the different things I’m passionate about.”

Thabsie is also known for slaying the fashion world and has earned recognition as one of the country’s best-styled artists. For Thabsie, style has always been a feeling.

“How an outfit makes me feel is the most important thing. I also feel like putting effort into how you look is a big form of respect for yourself and others.”

Her EP “While You Wait…” is officially available on all music platforms.

A személyre szabottság mesterfokon: Az LVBet Casino egyénre szabott bónuszai a magyar tagoknak

Elterjedtek a bizonyos játéktípusokhoz kötött ajánlatok is. Oda küldi a legkedvezőbb promóciókat. Mindkettőjüknek a saját preferenciáihoz illeszkedik. Ez a szintű személyre szabás adja a modern online kaszinózás alapját.

Technológiai háttér: Hogyan funkcionál a személyre szabottság?

A felhasználók szerepe a egyéni élményük alakításában

A személyre szabott üdvözlő csomagok elemzése

Nézzük a gyakorlatot. A lényeg a reális lehetőség. A személyre szabás itt a fenntartható játékélményt segíti.

A játékos jólétére is figyel.

Minden regionális piacnak megvannak a maga sajátosságai. Ezeket a tranzakciós módokat a bónuszajánlatok megtervezésénél is értékeli. A bizalom erősítése is kiemelkedően fontos a magyar piacon.

A koncepció lényege a mindkét fél számára előnyös haszon.

A MI nagyobb fokú integrációja hatékonyabban szimulálhatja a játékosok viselkedését. A egyénre szabás mind jobban kiterjed a jutalmazási rendszerek korlátain túl is. Többek között a felület alkalmazkodó átalakításában. A főoldal akkor jelenítheti meg proaktívan a játékos leggyakrabban használt játékait. A tudatos játék területén is valószínű fejlődés. A megoldások egyre hatékonyabban észlelik a lehetségesen kockázatos viselkedési mintákat.

Keith David’s MCU Character Revealed

Legendary actor Keith David is joining the MCU with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and his role is finally becoming clear. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have never announced that Keith David is part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s cast, but his legendary, authoritative voice was unmistakable during the first trailer. For those unaware, the Rick and Morty and The Princess and the Frog actor was supposedly the one delivering the “spiders have three life cycles” monologue as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man undergoes his own webby mutation.

According to a Patreon post by Daniel Richtman, Keith David will play a news anchor and “[David] Attenborough-type character” who is never directly shown in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. For those unaware, Sir David Attenborough is a legendary 100-year-old British broadcaster, famous for his seven-decade career documenting, exploring, and narrating the natural world.

Keith David

The fact that David’s voice was instantly recognized in Brand New Day‘s trailer without a word of his involvement is enough proof that he is perfect for a role akin to that of the British icon, so famous for his soothing, deep, authoritative tone.

Previously, many speculated that David would play Miles Warren, aka Jackal, a mad scientist and one of Spidey’s smartest rogues. In theory, that could still be the case, as Marvel Studios could reinvent Warren as an Attenborough-like figure, perhaps placing him in Brand New Day as a setup for the future.

Much of the mystery surrounding David’s Brand New Day character seems to be cleared up just one month out from its July 31 release, but there are six more Phase 6 actors’ unconfirmed roles yet to be revealed…

Marvel Studios Is Hiding 6 More MCU Actors’ Roles

Sadie Sink – Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is joining the MCU in a major role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, receiving third cast billing behind only Tom Holland and Zendaya. The web-slinging blockbuster’s trailers have teased that Sink’s character has mind control powers, but only rumors and leaks have revealed her true identity.

While nothing is certain until Spider-Man 4 lands in theaters in July, the consensus is that Sink is playing X-Men mutant Jean Grey. Supposedly, Grey will be hunted by Damage Control in Brand New Day and unleash the Hulk upon Peter Parker before returning for Avengers: Secret Wars and leading the MCU’s third saga.

Liza Colón-Zayas – Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The Bear actress Liza Colón-Zayas was reported to be playing a “sidekick” to Spidey and Punisher during Brand New Day‘s production. More recently, in the same Patreon scoop where he revealed Keith David’s role, Daniel Richtman stated that “Cathy” was a codename and that Colón-Zayas will indeed play Jean DeWolff.

For those unaware, Dewolff is essentially Marvel’s answer to DC’s Jim Gordon, in that she is an NYPD detective who liaises with Spider-Man. It’s easy to imagine that Dewolff could have a recurring role throughout the MCU’s next Spider-Man trilogy, advising the wall-crawler along in his new street-level era.

Mary McDonnell – VisionQuest

74-year-old actress Mary McDonnell is the only person in VisionQuest‘s cast whose role remains a mystery, as Disney+’s WandaVision trilogy-capper is primarily comprised of existing characters.

VisionQuest already revealed actors for its Stark AIs, so it’s easy to imagine the Battlestar Gallactica actress playing a human role. That could either be somebody Vision encounters on his journey, part of the villainous front hunting the Avenger, or a character connected to Ruaridh Mollica’s Tommy Shepherd/Maximoff.

Wesley Holloway – Avengers: Doomsday

The young Terrifier 2 and Chicago Med actor Wesley Holloway has officially joined the cast of Avengers: Doomsday is an as-yet-unconfirmed role. Still, online rumors and his general Chris Evans-esque appearance have many convinced that he will play Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s son.

Fans caught a glimpse of Steve holding his baby boy in Doomsday‘s first teaser, hinting that his son will be a newborn in the flick. However, he was clean-shaven in Avengers: Endgame fashion in the cryptic clip, and fully bearded at Doomsday‘s CinemaCon, suggesting a time jump in which he could age up into Holloway.

Pacino Khan – Avengers: Doomsday

5-year-old Pacino Khan has also reportedly landed a role in Avengers: Doomsday, and the jury is still out on who he will bring to life. As The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ post-credits scene skipped four years into the future, Khan is around the right age to play the cosmically-powered Franklin Richards, although he doesn’t seem to be the actor who appeared briefly in the 2025 movie’s stinger.

There has also been talk that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom had a wife and son who were killed before Doomsday‘s events. If Marvel Studios recounts those events in flashbacks, as seems likely, Khan could play the unnamed Doom Jr.

Matilda Firth – Avengers: Doomsday

11-year-old Time actress Matilda Firth is also set to board the MCU this December in Doomsday. Some online rumors have stated that Pacino Khan and Matilda Firth are playing siblings and Doctor Doom’s children, but the accuracy of that is unclear for now, as previous reports have only referred to the villain having a son.

In 2015’s Secret Wars comic, when Doom creates Battleworld, he installs Sue Storm as his wife, and they have a daughter, Valeria von Doom. If the MCU takes any inspiration from that, perhaps Firth could play Valeria Richards, briefly appearing in Doomsday‘s latter moments before appearing in Secret Wars.

Everything BetOnRed Casino Provides Poland Players Currently

Do dyspozycji mamy wiele gier z ruletką, blackjackiem, bakaratem i grami telewizyjnymi w rodzaju Crazy Time czy Monopoly Live. Szczególnie podziwiamy wiele stoły z polskojęzycznymi krupierami – to drobny detal, który umie wyraźnie poprawić przyjemność gry, zwłaszcza gdy potrzebujemy sprawnie wyjaśnić kwestię dotyczącą przebiegu rundy.

Oblast her v BetOnRed nám přináší pravdivou radost, neboť najdeme tu výtvory takových studií jako NetEnt, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger či Push Gaming.

Wpłaty i wypłaty w złotówkach szybko

W zakładzie sportowym oczekuje nas czytelny podział dyscyplin – piłka, tenis, koszykówka, hokej i liczne inne, wraz z szerokim rynkiem azji i obstawianiem na e-sport.

Program lojalnościowy i stałe turnieje z wartościowymi nagrodami

GGBet Casino: Opzioni, Bonus Sostanziosi e Ricompense Ancora Più Grandi in Italia

Domande frequenti

GGBet Casino opera legalmente in Italia?

Verifica sempre i Termini e Condizioni specifici.

Quanto tempo richiedono i prelievi su GGBet?

I periodi di prelievo variano in base a metodo. Gli e-wallet (Skrill, Neteller) vengono elaborati spesso entro 24 ore. Occorre avere l’account completamente verificato per ottenere qualsiasi prelievo.

Posso giocare senza scaricare alcun software?

Certamente.

Certamente, l’intera piattaforma GGBet, inclusi termini, promozioni e supporto clienti, è offerta in italiano. L’assistenza in lingua è disponibile 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7, tramite live chat e email.

Servizio Clienti e Supporto in Italiano

Supergirl: Every Major Spoiler, Death & DC Universe Reveal

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Supergirl.

In 2022, James Gunn and Peter Safran were announced to be taking over the DC franchise and heading the then brand-new DC Studios. The universe took some time to get up and running, but finally made its theatrical debut in 2025’s Superman. Gunn directed and wrote the film, which marked an impressive start for the new DCU, especially after the mixed reception of previous DC films.

Now, the DCU continues with Supergirl (2026). The film, which is based off of the Woman of Tomorrow comic, follows the titular character as she traverses across space looking for Krem of the Yellow Hills, who holds the antidote for a poison that is infecting (and killing) her dog, Krypto.

The film has received a mixed start reception wise. At the time of writing, reviews of Supergirl have it holding a 59% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the audience score still to come as viewers see the film this weekend. Box office wise, Supergirl’s fate also appears to be mixed, with a projected $50 million debut domestically.

Despite being the second DCU film, Supergirl is a relatively contained story, only connecting back to Superman. There aren’t any overly shocking universe reveals, spoilers, or cameos, but there are plenty of moments that audiences should avoid being spoiled before they head into the film.

Krypto Does Not Die In The Supergirl Movie

Milly Alcock As Supergirl Driving Her Spaceship With Krypto In Her Lap In Supergirl

As stated, Krypto is poisoned early on in the film. This happens when Krem steals Kara’s ship, and as he’s in the process of doing so, Krypto runs towards him in an attempt to stop him. The lovable super-powered dog is unsuccessful, however, and is instead left with a poison dart in his side.

Kara then takes Krypto to a healer on the planet, who explains that Krem and his group use poison darts as a way to torture people. They hold the antidote on a chain necklace around their necks, dangling it to their prisoners as they interrogate them. This gives Kara an understanding of what she needs to do — find Krem, take the antidote, and return to Krypto.

Eventually, Kara makes her final stand against Krem, wearing her super suit for the first time in the film. She defeats him in battle, manages to convince Ruthye not to take his life, and takes the antidote for herself. From there, she returns to Krypto, administers the antidote, and watches as he wakes up from his sleep and quickly becomes his lively self once again.

Everyone Who Dies In Supergirl

Matthias Schoenaerts As Krem in DCU Supergirl

Supergirl (2026) starts out with death right away and from there, becomes a film of revenge. Overall, several characters die, including the families of both Ruthye and Kara.

Elias Knoll
Delilah Knoll
Emond Knoll
Zor-El
Alura Zor-El
Bomar Vran
Mareck Vran
Sarna Vran
Krem

The first scene with Ruthye’s family showcases why she is so angry with Krem and her reasons for wanting revenge against him. Ruthye’s father is an expert sword maker, crafting one-of-a-kind weapons that are extremely rare across the galaxy. As a result of the weapons’ power, Krem arrives on Ruthye’s planet hoping to steal them.

At first, it appears as if he might have let the family live. However, Ruthye’s sibling Emond, who is unaware of what’s happening in the house or the presence of the unwanted guests, hops in front of her in an attempt to do a playful prank. The surprise prompts Krem to kill Emond, and it’s from there that a fight ensues. All of Ruthye’s family are killed in the process, thus changing her life forever.

The deaths of Kara’s family are also shown via flashbacks. It’s explained that her mother, Alura, dies as a result of exposure to Kryptonite, which permeated the surface of Argo City after the initial destruction of Krypton. The death of Kara’s father, Zor-El (played by David Krumholtz) isn’t shown, but the hero does confirm that he died not long after her mother, along with the rest of Argo City.

While trying to track down Krem, Kara is aided by bar owners Bomar and Mareck Vran, who give Kara and Ruthye shelter. However, they betray her and Ruthye, selling the girls to Krem in exchange for the return of their daughter, Sarna, who had been taken to be one of the brigands’ “brides.” Although Kara frees Sarna, and the young girl nearly reunites with her family, Krem kills all three of them in an alley.

The final death of the movie is Krem, who meets his end in battle with Supergirl. Ruthye wanted to kill him, but Kara convinces her not to. She eventually agrees and walks away. For a moment, it seems as if Supergirl may let the villain live. However, Krem makes a last-minute threat to Ruthye, telling Kara that he will make her suffer. It’s here that Kara kills him, using his sword to stab him in the throat.

Seth Rogen Has A Cameo In Supergirl

Arguably the biggest surprise of Supergirl isn’t the appearance of a well-known DC character or a huge story revelation. Instead, it’s the presence of Seth Rogen, who voices an alien on a bus-like spaceship Kara and Ruthye ride. He’s used primarily for comedic relief as he reacts to Kara’s attempt to stop the raiders from taking control of the ship. It’s a relatively brief appearance, but fans are sure to recognize Rogen’s iconic voice.

Kara Returns To Earth To Stay With Clark

David Corenswet suited up as Superman in the Supergirl movie

Kara finally finds her home in Supergirl. After voicing her frustration with Earth (and her cousin, Clark), Kara opts to stay on the planet come the end of the film. This surprises Clark, but he’s happy to have his cousin home. The next chapter of the DCU will be Man of Tomorrow, and both Super cousins are set to have large roles in the film, which is now in production in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dota 2 Dark Carnival Event is Out – Complete Event Details

The Dark Carnival event has finally arrived in Dota 2. Axe is no longer disabled, and the temporary free Automaton Persona Axe cosmetic is now available in the store. There are several other new and exciting skins, including five new Personas, a new treasure set, and a complete campaign event out for Dark Carnival.

Here are all the details for the Dark Carnival event, including how to get some free Arcanas and the Dark Carnival Store selections.

Complete Dark Carnival Event Details in Dota 2

The Train Mechanics

Unlock nodes on the map to drive the story of Dark Carnival forward and unlock content, including story snippets, cosmetic items, redeemable currencies, and minigames.
The Main Quest of the map, including story and rewards, is available for free to everyone.
Unlocking each node requires a unique set of tickets. You earn tickets by just playing Dota 2 games.

How to Earn Dark Carnival Tickets

Every hero has a set of three tickets.
If you win a match with that hero, you’ll earn one of each ticket. If you lose, you’ll get one of the three tickets randomly. Turbo matches only grant two tickets for a win and none for a loss.
Earned tickets will stay in your inventory until you use them to unlock nodes on the map. You can also use the Ticket Trader to exchange tickets you have for ones you need.

The Oracle

The first Dota game you play per day will earn you a Seeing Stone.
Bring Seeing Stones to The Oracle for additional rewards, including tickets, candy, showcase decorations, in-game consumables, and cosmetics.

To unlock the Oracle, just complete the first node on the Train, and it should unlock the path to the Oracle. Once unlocked, you can access “The Oracle” tab on the Dark Carnival event. The Oracle features a lot of rewards, and this is where you would use all those Seeing Stones.

Consuming a Seeing Stone gives you 1 out of 11 tarot cards, giving a specific reward tied to the tarot card pulled. Pulling the same tarot cards three times unlocks it as a showcase decoration.

There are also bonus rewards for progressing in The Oracle through using Seeing Stones. Here are the bonus rewards:

Seasonal Spray – 2x Fortune Reveals
Emoticon – 5x Fortune Reveals
King of Fools – Weapon – 10x Fortune Reveals
King of Fools – Armor – 15x Fortune Reveals
King of Fools – Belt – 20x Fortune Reveals
King of Fools – Head – 25x Fortune Reveals
Treasure of Wonders – 30x Fortune Reveals

The King of Fools is a rare (blue) Ringmaster set.

Earning Currencies

Dark Carnival Discount Coins drop from unlocking specific paths on the map. After collecting 10 Discount Coins, you can trade them in for a $7.99 discount on anything in the Dark Carnival Store costing $7.99 or more. Any item that costs $7.99 will become free. These Dark Carnival Discount Coins can only be redeemed during the Dark Carnival event.

Candy Sacks are also earned from unlocking specific paths on the map. Once you progress through the Carnival Candyworks map, you can trade candy for a variety of items, treasure, and maybe even Arcanas. If the item offerings aren’t good, you can re-roll to more options, but you have to win a match to earn more re-rolls.

Treasures of Wonder are also on the map. These are basically free treasures from a set because they don’t require a key.

15x Dark Carnival Store Coins
16x Candy Sacks
3x Treasure of Wonders
5x Carnival Goodies
6x Seeing Stones

Apart from these currencies, you also get Dark Carnival Creeps, which alter the melee, ranged, and siege units in the game. There’s also a Dark Carnival Music Pack for new tracks.

The Dark Carnival Prize Pack – $7.99

The Dark Carnival Prize Pack only gives some currencies to help you out in the Candyworks. You receive:

30x Candy Bags
10x Candyworks Re-rolls
3x Seeing Stones

You can get this for free by just collecting 10 Dark Carniva Discount Coins, which is conveniently the exact total of the discount.

There are more details coming to the event soon, similar to how the big Crownfall event went down in 2024. Also, everyone gets a free Treasure of Wonders chest for free by just logging in!

‘The Bear’ Ending Explained: What Happens to Carmy and the Restaurant?

SPOILER ALERT: This story contains spoilers for “The Original Beef of Chicagoland,” the series finale of “The Bear,” now streaming on Hulu.

The real restaurant was the friendships they made along the way.

That’s basically the hyper-earnest thesis of “The Bear,” which aired its series finale on Hulu on Thursday. Sure, the titular restaurant can sear a critically acclaimed scallop, but it’s always been about the people making, serving and eating the food. That’s what makes it all mean something. The Bear “has something” that no other restaurant has, says Will Poulter’s Luca in a clichéd farewell monologue. And what’s that? “Family.”

In the penultimate episode of “The Bear,” Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and co. survive a brutal service that threatened to be their last. A thunderstorm, supply issues and too many reservations pushed the kitchen staff to the brink. And Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt), who has bankrolled the restaurant as it upgraded from an italian beef shop to a fine dining establishment, is out of cash. (He had even sold his watches to stay afloat.)

The entire season to that point had taken place over the course of one evening, and, in a breath of fresh air, the finale spans the days following that calamitous — but ultimately successful — service. Natalie (Abby Elliott) informs Richie he’s been invited to join an international hospitality seminar in Japan, and she and Carmy urge him to board his first-ever flight and go.

Ebraheim’s (Edwin Lee Gibson) detailed pitch to franchise The Beef, the profitable sandwich window part of the restaurant, and open ghost kitchens in the suburbs finally reaches Carmy, who gives his stamp of approval. Marcus (Lionel Boyce) drops Luca off at the airport — his pastry pal is heading back to Copenhagen. And Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas) prepares to take on the role of Sydney’s chef de cuisine.

And, finally, Carmy answers the phone when that unknown number calls him for the third or fourth time. It’s Peter Clark, aka “Star Man,” who delivers the news that The Bear has been awarded two Michelin stars. In one of the most affecting scenes of the season, Sydney asks Carmy, “Did we get a star?” and Carmy shakes his head no, before replying: “You got two.” (That’s “you,” not “we” — remember, he announced his plan to leave the culinary industry at the end of Season 4 and spent all of Season 5 working under Sydney in a passing of the torch. Or spatula.) Both Sydney’s and Carmy’s reactions are subdued — neither knows how to process it. But a few minutes later, after they’ve parted, Sydney bursts out of the kitchen to embrace Carmy, crying and wrapping her arms around her former boss, mentor and best friend.

Elsewhere, Jimmy and the Beef boys begin their new venture and scope out their first ghost kitchen. (In a nice tribute to the late Rob Reiner, Ebra dials up his character Albert to tell him the good news.) With Sydney now in charge of the main dining room, The Bear will continue to operate as an elite restaurant with sandwich spinoffs.

John Mulaney makes a late-season appearance as cousin-by-marriage Stevie. He drops off Carmy, who is unusually clad in a suit and tie, at a building downtown to meet a woman named Sue (Bonnie Hunt). It’s an interview for something, but it feels more like a therapy session, as Carmy explains why he’s leaving the kitchen and admits about his final service, “If I had been in charge — if I had been the head chef — I would have made it worse.”

He’s confident in his choice to leave The Bear in the hands of Sydney and Richie and co., and he says it was amazing it was to see everyone “score.” “Even though it sucked,” he says, “it was the most fun I’ve ever had.”

Eventually, it’s revealed that Carmy is interviewing for an internship at an architectural firm, where he’ll take his obsession with the colors, presentation and design of food and apply it to buildings.

In one of the show’s final scenes, Richie takes his young daughter, Eva, to the restaurant, where he’s set up a surprise birthday party. The whole gang is there — including absentee guest stars Bob Odenkirk, Josh Hartnett and Molly Gordon (we never do get full closure on the Carmy and Claire romance). Everyone is singing, talking, laughing, enjoying food.

Then Richie is taking off on his flight to Japan, nervously looking out the window, when a hand reaches out to comfort him. It’s his colleague Jess (Sarah Ramos), resolving their long “will they, won’t they” dynamic. (At least one of the main characters seems to finish the series with some action on the romance front.)

And Carmy’s at his new desk, wearing his white tee and apron. He sends a text to his deceased brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) — “All good” — and stops to appreciate his new surroundings. Still, he closes his eyes and thinks about his happy place — the restaurant. Not because it’s where he spent his formative years pursuing greatness, but because that’s where his people are.

A24 takes $75 million from Google for AI research

Another day, another insistence that AI needs to be part of the filmmaking process from companies that have already invested a ton of money into it. The latest comes as The Wall Street Journal reported this morning that Google has invested $75 million into A24 to forge an artificial intelligence partnership between the two companies. Per Variety, the partnership will see A24 work with Google’s DeepMind to develop new technologies to assist filmmakers; the deal does not give Google access to A24’s archive or data.

Google’s own statement announcing the endeavor is pretty vague, as these types of ventures tend to be. For example, the partnership “creates a deep research and development collaboration” that will span “multiple projects over time.” It will “help artists develop new workflows and techniques” and “ensures the tools of the future are shaped by the creators who use them.” A24 partner Scott Belsky expanded on the endeavor a little bit more in an interview, claiming that the tools “won’t look anything like the prompted generation type of AI that people feel uncomfortable with.”

Presumably this means that most of the AI stuff will be behind the scenes, avoiding the uncanny valley sheen that defines AI-generated slop. A24 films have already dabbled with some of this, most famously in The Brutalist, which used AI technology to clean up Adrien Brody’s Hungarian accent. Director Martin Scorsese also just gave his stamp of approval to AI for making storyboards, which is the kind of labor that most audiences may not notice or think about but will certainly make the people who make their living from being a storyboard artist rather uncomfortable. Kane Parsons, meanwhile, the 21-year-old director who recently directed A24’s biggest hit ever, recently highlighted the “genuinely harmful consequences” of AI, even if AI is sometimes just tools, not wholesale generation. “Creatively, I get no enjoyment from using those tools,” he told The Australian. “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.” Apparently the creators of the future who don’t want to use the tools didn’t get a vote.

Scott Pelley Signs With CAA After CBS News Firing

Following his ousting from 60 Minutes and CBS News earlier this month, Scott Pelley has found new representation.

Deadline can confirm the 51x Emmy-winning news anchor has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) just weeks after he was fired over an alleged confrontation with new executive producer Nick Bilton under Bari Weiss’ reign.

While many current and former 60 Minutes correspondents are represented by UTA, Pelley joins former colleague Lesley Stahl in the CAA family.

CAA also represents 60 Minutes vets Bill Owens, Cecilia Vega, and Tanya Simon — all who have been forced out of the show over the last year. The agency also reps Anderson Cooper. The CNN anchor poignantly stepped away from 60 Minutes after many years at the conclusion of the show’s most recent season.

More than 35 years into his CBS career, Pelley was fired on June 2 over a verbal confrontation in which he put the new leadership on blast. In a letter to Pelley, Bilton said they could not “find a path forward together” following the confrontation, which he called a “performative display of hostility.”

In his first interview since the termination, Pelley told The New York Times that the new leadership doesn’t “know what they’re doing.”

“We have people who’ve been installed in these jobs who through no fault of their own have no experience in television,” said Pelley. “They don’t know what they’re doing. And there’s a subtle political bias that I’ve never seen at 60 Minutes before, or at CBS News before. So that is my hope: a return to sanity. We can save this. It’s possible to land this plane. But right now, CBS News is on fire.

The Bear Season 5 Brings a Bittersweet, Unexpected Ending for Carmy, Sydney & Richie

The Bear Season 5 ended on a bittersweet note and teased the future roles of those at the restaurant following Carmy’s exit. This season witnesses the team facing financial troubles, the possibility of the restaurant being sold, and several unexpected challenges. The new partners team up to bring the restaurant back on track and aim to earn a Michelin star. Here’s how the final installment closed the arcs for the main characters, such as Carmy, Sydney, and Richie.

What happens to The Bear, Carmy, Sydney and Richie in Season 5 ending?

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto had already made up his mind in the previous season that he wanted to quit the restaurant and industry altogether. He believed that he no longer had the interest to continue the food business. Carmy remained firm on his decision even in the Season 5 finale, as he eventually walked away from the Bear. While he couldn’t change his mind to stay in business, he did convince Jimmy. He asked him to give the restaurant a second chance.

This all happens after their restaurant is able to bag two Michelin stars. Carmy embarks on a new chapter in his life as his cousin Stevie helps him set up an interview with an architectural firm to become an intern there. He also hands over recipe books to Marcus before parting ways with the business.

Sydney becomes a Michelin-rated chef and takes on the role of head chef at the Bear after Carmy called it quits. Meanwhile, Richie gets the opportunity to attend the international hospitality seminar in Japan after he won over the hearts of a couple who got engaged at the restaurant. At first, he remains uncertain about going to Japan because he has never been on a plane. But he converses with Carmy, who encourages him to step out of his comfort zone. Before heading to Japan, he conducts a birthday party for his daughter at the restaurant. Also, he is joined by his crush, Chef Jess, on his Japan trip.

‘Hannah Montana’s Mitchel Musso On Why He Missed 20th Anniversary

After Miley Cyrus reunited with her alter ego for the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special in March, one of her co-stars is explaining his absence.

Mitchel Musso, who played Hannah’s friend Oliver Oken on the Disney Channel show, noted he had a scheduling conflict, but he would have made time for the reunion if it was a new episode of the 2006-’11 series or a movie.

“The kid in me was banking on it, like ‘I can’t wait for us to all be on set again,’ and it just didn’t work out that way,” he said on the Joe Vulpis Podcast. “Do something other than what was done. Like, do an episode. Do the show. The set’s still there. Or it can be dressed very quick with somebody who’s a pro, and they did that for that and just did it differently.”

Musso continued, “It is what it is. But it wasn’t the right thing and I was busy doing something that was more important, right? But it would have been way more important if it would have just been an episode, or a movie, or a whatever. Of course, that would have been more important.”

The actor said he would have “dropped everything” if it meant getting back into character as Oliver. “It would have been everything,” he said.

“It didn’t turn out that way… Of course they asked me. But like I said, it wasn’t presented correctly,” added Musso. “And I’ve been waiting 10 years. You know, the people they say 20. My break’s been 10. So, it’s too long of a wait to do it in a way that isn’t even close to, in my opinion, correct.”

Emily Osment, who played Miley and Oliver’s friend Lilly Truscott, was also absent from the reunion special, noting she was busy filming Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage but feels “lucky to have been a part of this once-in-a-generation goliath of a television show” like Hannah Montana.

Boosting Your Profits with Intelligent Gameplay Tactics

Games are always games of chance, but a strategic approach helps you control your bankroll and savor the ride more. Our initial advice is straightforward: set a specific budget before you start and hold to it. Picking games with superior Return to Player (RTP) percentages can also sway the long-term odds slightly in your favour, so it’s deserving a quick look.

Don’t let promotions go to waste. Reload bonuses, cashback offers, and weekly races add further value to your play. Joining tournaments can transform your regular spins into a shot at a major prize pool. Playing smart is the secret to a enjoyable and enduring gaming journey.

Get to know game volatility. Low-volatility pokies pay smaller wins more often, supporting your balance last. High-volatility games offer larger payouts but less commonly, ideal when you have some surplus to risk. Tools like ‘Autoplay’ with loss limits, and demo modes for practice, are calculated helpers that savvy players use before committing real money.

Kinku | Film Threat

imagineNATIVE 26 FILM FESTIVAL REVIEW! For a stop-motion short that will literally shake you down to the fiber of your being, sew yourself into the stop-motion yarn-mation short Kinku, written and directed by Segundo Fuerez. From Ecuador, Fuerez uses yarn instead of clay to make the figurines and backgrounds to animate. A little girl dreams of friendship and plays in the sun. She is kidnapped by a man with a gun and is taken captive.

A wonderful canine friend from the girl’s dreams arrives, where she is tied up. While the man is out with his gun, the ropes bounding the girl are gnawed through, so that she and her friend can escape. When the man gets back and finds his prisoner gone, he takes his gun out into the darkness to hunt the little girl and put her down…

“Fuerez doesn’t pull any punches with the heavy gravity of child trafficking.”

Kinku is very disturbed that something so inherently adorable can also be so dark. While instantly being visually attractive to small children, Fuerez also doesn’t pull any punches with the heavy gravity of the child trafficking portrayed. While not graphic, it also doesn’t hide the inevitable as to what happens to children who disappear. Not a happy ending basket at all, even if it is all macramé.

But Kinku isn’t a total bummer either, which is completely bizarre. There is a gleam of something at the end that isn’t hope, but it is something. There is also a question as to the level of symbolism being used. Is this an extra grim allegory for the environment? Is it going beyond the controversial subject to create something transcendental? Whatever it is, it is so pleasing to the eye that you want to eat it. Kinku is a heart-stopping six minutes of stop-motion that will have you hypnotized for a spell with a rumination that never ends.

TLC Star Karen Derrico Threatens Child on Phone Call

TLC personality Karen Derrico seemingly threatened her child while on a contentious phone call amid her recent arrest and legal drama.

According to audio obtained by TMZ on Thursday, June 25, the Doubling Down With the Derricos alum, 46, was on the phone with some of the 14 children she shares with ex-husband Deon Derrico. The exchange turned heated when Karen appeared to slam one of her kids for calling her “a liar.”

“Don’t you ever do that again. Don’t you ever while you live and call me a liar again. You don’t know what is going on,” she scolded. “You don’t know it. So do not ever call me a liar because you don’t know.”

One of the kids then told Karen they put the baby stuff in the family’s car, but she continued to vent her frustration over the disagreement.

“That pissed me off. Don’t ever do that s***,” she said a little bit louder. “You don’t know what the hell I’m going through and what I’ve been through. You’re only going by what he said. I’m the one that carried your little behind. I’m the one that told the doctors no when they asked me to abort your little ass. Don’t ever do that again. Because you make me regret it. Don’t play with me.”

One of the kids repeatedly told his mother, “OK,” as she continued to get upset. Amid her frustration, another child who appeared to be one of Karen’s kids said, “No wonder why you said you were going to kill me.”

“No, I never said [that] I said I’d kill you if you piss me off … because you’re disrespecting me because your little behind is enabled,” Karen fired back. “That’s why you’re doing that. Don’t say nothing.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Karen for comment.

News of the phone call comes shortly after Karen was arrested in Las Vegas. Earlier this week, the former reality star was charged with harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence and aggravated stalking after allegedly sending Deon several threatening emails.

“I want you dead,” Karen allegedly wrote in a June 14 email, according to court records obtained by Oxygen True Crime. ”I could kill you, and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side.”

Karen was arraigned on Tuesday, June 23, and pleaded not guilty.

“The allegations are completely false,” her attorney Jess Marchese told Oxygen. “And we will prove they were completely fabricated by Mr. Derrico.”

Karen and Deon rose to fame on the reality series Doubling Down With the Derricos, which aired for five seasons on TLC. The show, which followed the former couple’s life with their 14 children, came to an end in 2024, the same year the pair divorced.

My ultimate Prime Day hi-fi tip — buy the Wiim Amp Ultra for a bargain price and pair it with these floorstanding speakers for a huge-sounding setup

It’s Amazon Prime Day, and one of my favorite deals of day isn’t actually a huge discount, but I think it’s a really worthwhile buy at the lower price. It’s the WiiM Amp Ultra, which is available for $449 at Amazon US (down from $529), or you can get it for £425 at Amazon UK (down from $499).

• Browse the full Amazon Prime Day sale

I have the WiiM Amp Ultra at home, and it’s an amazing streaming amp for this price. It’s really well-built and looks at home among nice furniture, with a solid metal finish — and it’s shockingly compact, considering that it provides up to 100W per channel, so it can work with some really hefty speakers,

Most importantly, it sounds excellent, and there’s support for nearly every music service you could want (but I’ll come back to that “nearly), plus useful inputs for a turntable and so on.

I use it with a pair of Dali Oberon 5 bookshelf speakers, and the combination is off the charts for a hi-fi system that barely takes up any space. Obviously, floorstanding speakers are tall, but the Oberon 5 only have the same footprint as bookshelf speakers, so these three boxes overall can be used even in space-starved homes, but sound like you’ve got a much bigger, beefier setup.

When I started this configuration, I auditioned it against using the Amp Ultra with a pair of Dali Oberon 1 bookshelf speakers, and against a pair of Sonos Era 300 speakers (a pair of which costs about the same as getting the Amp Ultra and Oberon 5 speakers).

The Oberon 1 bookshelf speakers crushed the Sonos Era 300 when it came to detail and dynamic response in music, but they were equally crushed by the Sonos for bass depth and dispersion of sound in the room.

However, the Oberon 5 are the best of all worlds with the WiiM powering them — big and controlled bass, fantastic detail in the mids and treble, superb dynamic attack, and great dispersion in the room.

So I’d recommend the WiiM Amp Ultra generally, but if you’re thinking that you’d like a whole magnificent hi-fi setup for under £1,000 in the UK, here’s my recommendation today — if you’re in the US, scroll down, because I’ve got a recommendation for you right after.

Today’s best UK WiiM Amp Ultra and speaker deal combination

Some speakers are quite a lot more expensive in the US than in Europe, and Dali speakers are chief among this category. So when looking for an equivalent system to suggest with the WiiM Amp Ultra in the US, I wanted to find something that was also a huge bargain, and that’s just as good, and the ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 is the perfect option, because their bookshelf version also got five stars from What Hi-Fi? in their review.

The downside to the WiiM Amp Ultra

There is one thing I want to note about the Amp Ultra: it’s not 100% ideal for Apple Music households, despite its aluminum look and slick design. It lacks any kind of Apple support outside of Bluetooth — not just Apple Music (which is normal for streaming amps, only Sonos has this natively), but even AirPlay 2, which nearly every other music streaming device on the planet supports.

It doesn’t have a USB audio input either, which seems like an odd omission for an ‘Ultra’ device — and it’s annoying that it rules out using your Apple device’s USB port to send Hi-Res Audio to it.

Now, Spotify is the most popular service, and that’s supported. I have a Tidal subscription, so I’m all good. This is far from affecting everyone, but there are plenty of people who are deep in the Apple system, who use Apple Music only, and the Amp Ultra is oddly hostile to those people.

YouTube updates Shorts to make it even more like TikTok

YouTube is adding even more TikTok-like features to Shorts, including a new “clear screen” mode that removes the icons and text from the video you’re watching. In a blog post on Thursday, YouTube says it’s also replacing the “thumbs-up” button with a “heart” icon, and is introducing a new option that lets you watch Shorts at 2x speed.

As noted by YouTube, you can speed up a video by holding down the edge of your screen and lifting your finger when you want it to return to normal speed. You can lock the speed at 2x by pressing the player and swiping down. Another change allows you to mute watching by tapping the video and selecting the “mute” button.

These new additions make Shorts even more like TikTok, which has had the similarly-named “clear mode” for years — a feature that also removes captions, icons, and usernames from your screen. TikTok already offers a way to speed up videos as well, and lets users “like” a video by pressing a “heart” button.

Along with these updates, YouTube is removing the “dislike” button. It’s encouraging users to share their feedback with the platform by selecting the “Not interested” and “Don’t recommend this channel” options from the three-dots menu instead.

Book of Oz Slot – Experience That Defines Quality for UK

The Book of Oz Game occupies a unique spot for many UK players https://casinoofbook.com/book-of-oz/. It has grown into a benchmark for what a good online slot should be, mixing a magical story with rewarding features. If you’re seeking a game that pulls you into another world and gives a real chance at wins, this trip to Oz is well worth making. Its success comes from excellent graphics, engaging features, and a solid reputation for fairness, rendering it a favourite at licensed casinos across the UK. Let’s explore why this slot has earned its stripes.

A Captivating Journey to the Green City

This slot places you right into the heart of L. Frank Baum’s well-known tale. The reels rest on the iconic Yellow Brick Road, with the glittering Emerald City looming in the distance. You’ll encounter all the classic characters: Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Wizard himself. The artwork is stunning and full of colour, backed by a whimsical soundtrack that matches the magic wonderfully. This dedication in setting the scene means every spin feels like part of a story, something UK players often desire in a slot with great theme and polish.

Core Gameplay and Features

Getting to grips with the essentials enhances your experience of the Book of Oz Slot more. It uses a classic 5-reel, 3-row grid with 10 fixed paylines, a layout that’s straightforward. The game’s volatility falls in the moderate to high range. You might not win on every turn, but the rewards can be significant when they come. The game’s Return to Player (RTP) is usually around 96% or more at UK sites, which matches common standards for honest gaming. You can change your bet to fit your budget, catering to both conservative players and those who prefer bigger stakes.

Images and Payout Values

The paytable is nicely balanced. The lower-paying symbols are the standard playing cards (10, J, Q, K, A), themed to fit the Oz theme. The higher-value symbols are the figures, with the Wizard offering the top reward for a combination of five. The main symbol is the Book. It acts as both the Wild and the Scatter. This dual role is the core of the game’s best features. It keeps the rules simpler while boosting your chances for a decent win in both the primary game and the bonus rounds.

Betting Range and Inclusivity

The Book of Oz Slot fits all kinds of budgets, a significant plus for the diverse UK audience. The lowest bet can be as little as 10p per spin, allowing you to gamble for a extended time without too much risk. For players desiring bigger action, the top bet often reaches £100 or higher per spin. This flexibility means you can adjust the game to your style, whether you’re passing time on the bus or getting comfortable for a proper evening session. It’s a sign of a quality slot that aims to appeal to everyone.

The Influence of the Book: Wild & Scatter Symbol

The Book symbol fuels the game’s excitement. As a Wild, it can stand in for any regular symbol to help form winning lines, often saving a spin that was close. Its more important job is as a Scatter. If you hit three or more Books anywhere on the reels, you’ll start the popular Free Spins bonus round. Because this one symbol does two jobs, the base game stays interesting. Every time a Book appears, you know it might be the ticket to the bonus, which has you glued to the screen.

Unlocking the Complimentary Spins Feature

The Free Spins feature is the area the Book of Oz truly shows its magic. Get three or more Book Scatters, and you will get 10 free spins. Before the round commences, the game automatically chooses one standard symbol to transform into an expanding symbol for all the free spins. Once sufficient of these special symbols show up, they can expand to fill a whole reel. This massively increases your chances of a big win. The function can create cascades of expanding symbols, leading to the game’s biggest payouts. That is the kind of exciting moment UK slot fans enjoy.

Gamble Feature for the Adventurous

Players who enjoy an additional shot of excitement can experience the traditional Gamble feature. After any normal win, you can opt to gamble those winnings in a basic card game. You try to predict if a hidden card is black or red to multiply by two your stake. Predict the precise suit, and you increase fourfold it. This brings a strategic, player-driven layer of danger. UK players should use this with caution, as a bad guess results in you forfeit the gambled sum. It’s a strong reminder to practice safe gaming in mind.

What Makes UK Players Praise It

UK players award the Book of Oz Slot top ratings for a few strong reasons. It mixes a vintage, beautifully done theme with reliable slot mechanics, producing a game that’s both enjoyable and trustworthy. The chance for big wins in the Free Spins round, along with the ongoing hope of activating it, creates for a compelling cycle of play. You’ll discover it at many casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. This ensures a protected, fair setting with secure payments and appropriate responsible gambling features, a major focus for players here.

Mobile Play on iOS and Android

A great mobile game is essential now, and the Book of Oz Slot delivers. It operates flawlessly on smartphones and tablets, whether you use iOS or Android. Play through a casino app or a mobile browser, and you’ll enjoy all the same sharp graphics and smooth action. The touch controls feel natural, making it easy to spin the reels or adjust settings. This spot-on mobile version ensures UK players get the same quality experience at home or on the go, fitting right into how people play today.

Finding the Best UK Casinos to Play

To enjoy Book of Oz, you should select a dependable, licensed UK casino. Find a current UK Gambling Commission licence, a good range of games from top studios, and welcome bonuses that could give free spins or matched deposits. Numerous well-known UK casinos offer Book of Oz in their selections. Make sure to verify the specific rules for any bonus, especially the wagering requirements. Make sure they fit how you like to play, so your gaming session remains enjoyable.

Guidance for Safe Play

The Book of Oz Slot is entertaining entertainment, but playing responsibly is key. UK players should establish deposit limits and time limits before they start, features you’ll find at all licensed casinos. Keep in mind that slots are for fun, not a way to make money. Only ever stake what you can comfortably afford to lose. Since the game has medium to high volatility, your balance will have ups and downs. Adjusting your bets helps keep the experience fun. Using tools like reality checks and self-exclusion at UKGC sites shows you’re in control of your play.

The Book of Oz Slot serves as a quality benchmark in the UK online slot scene. It expertly blends a cherished adventure story with solid, rewarding gameplay, from its two-in-one Book symbol to the exciting expanding symbol Free Spins. It works flawlessly on any device and operates under strict UK regulations for fair play. For anyone after an engaging escape with the possibility of magical rewards, this slot provides a polished and satisfying trip down the Yellow Brick Road.

Bond Candidate Louis Partridge Says It’s ‘Wonderful’ To Be Considered

When Netflix released the first “Enola Holmes” in 2020, audiences watched “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown reinvent herself as the eccentric, fourth-wall-breaking detective. They also met a breakout newcomer: Louis Partridge.

Six years later, at the world premiere of “Enola Holmes 3,” Partridge says he’s learned to navigate fame “in various ways, sometimes better than others.”

“The social media stuff can get a bit noisy sometimes, but it’s important to have good people around you — and to figure out for yourself what’s important outside of looking at your phone, to be honest, which is surprisingly hard to do these days. I’m not gonna lie,” Partridge told Variety Thursday night. “It sounds silly to say, but that’s quite tricky to do today.”

Since becoming an international star, Partridge has shared the screen with industry heavyweights like Cate Blanchett, landed a partnership with Prada and entered a high-profile relationship with Olivia Rodrigo. Looking back, he says he never expected so much attention on his personal life.

“I did not, but it’s a part of the job and I’m grateful to feel like I’m on the right path,” he explained. “I feel good about where I’m at. I’ve got more to do.”

That “more to do,” staying on the theme of uncertainty, includes a coveted role he never imagined Hollywood would one day consider him for: James Bond. Asked whether he’d ever pictured himself in the conversation to play 007, Partridge replied, “No, no. Not yet at least. But that’s something to keep in mind. I wonder what Variety thinks?”

Well, to answer Partridge’s question, Variety London Bureau Chief Alex Ritman reported in April that he’s one of several actors in contention for the job, aligning him with the widespread industry chatter that Amazon MGM Studios is searching for a “fresh-faced” British 007.

At 23, Louis Partridge would be a notably younger Bond than the other rumored contenders: Jacob Elordi (28), Callum Turner (36), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (35) and Harris Dickinson (29). He’d also skew younger than past Bonds when they started: Sean Connery (32), Daniel Craig (38), Pierce Brosnan (42) and Roger Moore (45).

A younger Bond would also offer long-term upside: Partridge could anchor five or six films over 15 years and still be under 40, while also at a lower cost than bigger names like Elordi or Taylor-Johnson. And if Amazon execs are targeting early-20s talent, the competition is slim: Kit Connor (22), Joe Locke (23) and Noah Jupe (21) — unless they go with a relative unknown.

After describing Variety’s report to Partridge on the red carpet, he delivered a sharp smile and ended on a note of gratitude: “Wonderful. Thank you, Variety.”

Fair Play Verifikatioun beim Gamblerina Casino: Sécherheets-Review aus Lëtzebuerg

Bitcoin Free Spins | Top BTC Casinos with Free Spins

Meng eegen Aarbecht als Casino-Expert bréngt mech dacks bei d’Plattform vum Gamblerina Casino gefouert gamblerinacasino-be.com. Bei Spiller hei zu Lëtzebuerg stellt sech dëst eng zentral Fro: Wéi schützt een Online-Casino d’Integritéit vu senge Spiller? Dëse Artikel ënnersicht d’Fair Play Verifikatioun sou wéi d’allgemeng Sécherheet bei Gamblerina grëndlech un. Ech huet d’Lizenz, d’Technologien hannert de Spiller, d’Transparenz iwwer Gewënner plus déi speziell Moossname fir eis aus dem Land analyséiert. Mäi Zil? Dir d’Sécherheet ze beliichten, sou datt Dir mat Vertrauen spillt. Maacht mat mir kucken ee fir ee, wéi dëst Casino zu engem vertrauenswürdegen Plaz fir d’ Ënnerhalung gëtt.

Wat ass Fair Play an engem Online Casino?

Fair Play, bei eis “Fair Spillen”, ass iwwer e blosen Motto. D’Regelen an d’Gewënnquote sollen virum Spill verständlech a fir jiddereen ze gesi sinn. E Casino wéi Gamblerina muss dës Prinzipien net just weisen, mä se duerch extern Tester a modern Technologie bewäisen.

Client Support an Sträitléisung

An wéi geet et duerch, wann e Schwieregkeet mat engem Gewënnzuel oder engem aneren Aspekt optriede? Do kënnt de Client Support vun Gamblerina a Aktioun. D’Team kënnt iwwer Live Chat, Mail a Telefonapparat do. Si hunn d’Ausbildung, no klaare Prozeduren ze aarbechten. Wann et zu enger Diskussioun iwwer e Gewënnzuel entsteet, ass do e kloaren Ofhëllefswee. Dëse System erméiglecht all Spiller d’Chance, seng Reclamatioun gerecht a objektiv behandelt ze erhalen.

Transparenz an d’Bekanntginn vu Gewënnraten

Eng weider Dimensioun vu Fair Play ass Offenheet iwwer d’RTP. Mengt ass de Return to Player (RTP) Prozent. Dëse Wäert, tëscht 94% a 99%, weist, wéi vill vun den Asätz theoreetesch un d’Spiller zréckbezuelt ginn. Hei gesitt Dir, wat d’RTP Iech verrät:

Héije RTP (iwwer 97%): Bei dëse Spiller, wéi bestëmmt Blackjack-Varianten, ass d’Maisong vum Casino theoreetesch méi kleng iwwer laang Zäit.
Mëttlere RTP (95%-97%): De meeschte Video-Slots fale genau an dëse Beräich. Et ass e gutt Gläichgewiicht tëscht Spaass a Gewënnchancen.
Niddrege RTP (ënner 95%): Hei fanne sech dacks speziell Spiller, wéi Kirmes- oder Arcade-Spiller. D’Offenheet weist Iech, datt Dir et wësst.

RNG Technologie: De garantéierten Zoufall

D’Haaptmethod fir Fair Play am Casino ass de Random Number Generator, kuerz RNG. Dat ass e raffinéierten Algorithmus. Hien generéiert onophäerend Zuelen a Resultater, déi total willkürlech sinn. Kee Mënsch kann se predictéieren. Jiddwer Spinn vun engem Slot, all Kart déi op den Dësch flitt, gëtt generéiert duerch dëse Prozess. Gamblerina benotzt bestätegt RNG-Systemer vu bekannte Software-Firmen. Dozou gehéieren NetEnt, Play’n GO a Pragmatic Play. Fir eis Analyse ass eppes anescht relevant: Dës RNG-Systemer wäerten net eleng vum Casino selwer iwwerwaacht. Onofhängeg Laboratoiren zum Beispill eCOGRA oder iTech Labs kontrolléieren se periodesch op hir Zoufällegkeet. Also, wann Dir hei eng Slotmaschinn dréint, da wësst Dir: All Resultat ass fair generéiert.

D’Lizenz an Iwwerwaachung: De legale Grondlag fir Lëtzebuerger Participanten

Gamblerina Casino schafft ënner enger Lizenz vun der Curacao Gaming Authority. Dëse Regulateur ass an der Branche wäit bekannt. Fir eis hei zu Lëtzebuerg ass dat, dass d’Casino duerch Gesetz e fairt Spillëmfeld ubidden muss. D’Norme vu Curacao verlaangen, datt d’Software reegelméisseg vun externen Iwwerpréiwer gepréift gëtt. Si verlaangen och, datt d’Spiller hir Suen getrennt vun de Geschäftsmëttel vum Casino verwalt ginn. Responsabelt Spillen muss gefërdert ginn. Dës extern Iwwerwaachung ass eis éischt Sécherheet, dass mir et mat engem professionelle Mataarbechter ze maachen hunn.

Datenschutz a Finanzsécherheet fir eis Spiller

Fairplay geet net nëmmen d’Spiller. Et handelt och ëm Är Donnéeën. Zu Lëtzebuerg bleiwe mir op dësem Gebitt besonnesch alert. Gamblerina setzt modern Verschlësselungstechnik. Den Norm ass 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Verschlësselungsmethod. Dat ass: All Daten, déi tëscht Ärem Computer an de Casino-Server wandert, bleift geheim. Et ass gläich, ob et Är Login-Daten, Är Adress oder eng Bezuelung ass. D’Donnéeën ass geséchert a kann vun kengem Drëtte gelies ginn. Finanz- Transparenz huet eng grouss Wichtegkeet. D’Casino hält kloar Reegelen, besonnesch fir Auszuelungen. Et schafft mat Zuelmethoden, déi sécher sinn a bei eis bekannt sinn.

Kreditkaart- a Debitkaarten (Visa, Mastercard)
E-Wallets (zum Beispill Skrill, Neteller)
Prepaid-Kaarten

Ausserhalb Auditen an Zertifikater

Versprieche vun engem Casino sinn eng Saach. Gamblerina Casino gëtt seng Spiller-Software an RNG-Systemer an extern Laboratoiren. D’Resultater vun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PaysafeCard dësen Tester wäerten a Form vun Zertifikater festgehalen. Dës Dokumenter bestätegen, datt d’Spiller internationalen Normen entspriechen. Wann Dir dës Zertifikater op der Gamblerina Websäit gesitt, da sidd Dir op enger vertrauenswürdeger Plattform. D’Audite kontrolléieren net nëmmen d’Zoufällegkeet. Se iwwerpréiwen och, ob déi ugewanne Gewënnquote (RTP) fir jiddert Spill korrekt bestëmmt gouf. Fir de Lëtzebuerger Spiller hält dës Due Diligence e wichtege Wäert. Et ass eng zusätzlech Sécherheetsstuf, déi dem Casino seng Vertrauenswürdegkeet erhéicht.

Verantwortungsvollt Spillaktivitéit a Spillersécherheet

E fair Casino berécksiichtegt un d’Technologie an un d’Spiller. Se behalen d’Spillerfaarf gesond an stäerken doduerch d’Fairness vum ganzen Erlabnis. Et ass drëms, Iech selwer ze schützen.

Hëllefsmëttel fir Iwwerwaachung a Selbstlimitatioun

Gamblerina huet praktesch Instrumenter fir de Spillerschutz bereet.

D’Casino respektéiert all dës Limiten an Optiounen seriös a realiséiert se konsequent an d’Praxis. Dat beweist seng seriös Haltung.

Iwwerbléck vun de Sécherheets-Features

Am Schluss vun dëser Bewäertung ass et praktesch, d’Haaptpunkte nach nees ze betruechten. Dës Kombinatioun vu Moossnamen mécht eng Atmosphär, an där Participanten aus Lëtzebuerg mat Vertrauen participéieren kënnen. La Cruz honors Pulse shooting victims with the groove of reggaeton

As La Cruz continues to break down barriers for the LGBTQ+ community in reggaeton, the rising Venezuelan star enjoys living out his gay fantasies in his music videos. Take the sultry video for his 2023 breakthrough single, “Quítate La Ropa,” which sees shirtless men perreando (twerking) before him in a locker room.

But at the same time, La Cruz has come to understand that his platform as a gay reggaeton artist coincides with a time when conservatism is sweeping the globe — and queer rights are receding.

“It fills me with happiness to represent a community that has been denigrated, treated badly and pushed into a corner for many years,” a bedheaded La Cruz says over Zoom from his New York City hotel room. (He had just performed at a Pride event the night before.)

“It’s a fact that [LGBTQ] rights are becoming progressive, but they’re rolled back even faster than they advance,” he adds. “This is very painful and concerning. This is happening in every country in different ways. During these difficult times, I’m going to keep putting my heart into my music more than ever.”

La Cruz is the stage name of Alfonso La Cruz. The native of La Guaira, a coastal city in Venezuela, pursued a music career after relocating to Spain in 2015. Following a brief stint on the singing competition “Operación Triunfo” three years later, La Cruz was closeted and found his momentum stifled. In 2022, he took the brave step of singing about his affection and lust for other men in his debut album, “Hawaira.”

Venezuelan reggaeton singer La Cruz released his new EP, “El Nene, Vol. 2,” on June 11.

(Maria Camila Pinzon)

Backed by the beats of reggaeton, a genre that had historically excluded the LGBTQ+ community, La Cruz found both his groove and his tribe with hits like “Te Conocí Bailando” and “Quítate La Ropa.” Early supporters included Colombian superstar Karol G, as well as Mexican American R&B singer Omar Apollo.

Alongside Puerto Rican provocateurs like Young Miko and Villano Antillano, La Cruz has continued to queer the heteronormative urbano space. He has also pushed his sound to broader horizons in his new EP, “El Nene, Vol. 2,” which includes “Sírveme,” a Brazilian funk banger with drag pop star Gloria Groove — and “Te Perdí,” a touching tribute to the victims and survivors of the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla.

La Cruz’s EP dropped on June 11, the day before the 10th anniversary of that tragedy, which largely impacted the queer Latino community. In an interview with The Times, he opened up about being a gay reggaetonero and “Te Perdi,” his tribute to the 49 people lost at Pulse.

It’s been three years since you first went viral with “Quítate La Ropa.” What have you learned about yourself during that time?
There are songs that have brought me a lot of love and I’m thankful to my fans that consider that song to be a classic. It’s brought me a lot of blessings. At this moment, I feel like I have the best opportunities in my life. However, I feel like the industry is a bit uncomfortable with an artist that’s openly gay and wants to be a part of this. That hasn’t stopped me at all. It’s the gasoline in my motor. It’s what pushes me to keep working hard. My fans are what’s building my career and I won’t let them down. I’m sticking with this until the end.

You connected with Karol G early in your career. Did she give you any advice when you met her?
I want to say publicly that I would love to open for her concerts on her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour. I’m very close to her. I love her so much. She has always treated me with so much love. I hope that something between me and her can happen sometime. I know everything happens in due time. I told her that I love the way she is and how she connects with her fans. When I see her singing and performing, I feel like she’s a sister to me. A big piece of advice that she gave me and that I’ll always carry with me is to never lose the humility and closeness that I have with my fans. The key to success is humility. I never want to be out of reach. I want people to see me and say, “I want to achieve my dreams like he has.”

How did your collaboration “Sírveme” with Gloria Groove come together?
I love her so much! I’ve always been a big fan of hers. I’ve gotten close to a lot of artists in Brazil and Gloria has been one of them. We didn’t think twice about making this song. Gloria was coincidentally traveling to the amusement parks in Orlando. I told her: “Baby, let’s go! I’m ready for you in Miami.” She told me: “Baby, I’m going to Miami!” We met one afternoon to create this song. She paused her vacation to go to the studio with me. It was very beautiful. I love my Brazilian fans.

With “El Nene, Vol. 2,” why was it important for you to also shed a light on the 10th anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting?
In 2016, when I recently arrived in Spain and my brother recently arrived in the U.S., we had a call with our family. My brother said, “There was a shooting close to where I live and it was in a gay club.” My family has supported me since I first told them about my sexuality. I thought that that could’ve happened to me.

I’m following up on this tragedy because it shaped my life. As the years go on, information about this attack has faded away. Each day people are talking less about it. It’s a tragedy that’s super important to remember, like 9/11 and the [2017] Las Vegas shooting, because it’s one of the worst attacks in U.S. history. Why are we not talking about it anymore? We have to keep talking about things so that they don’t happen again.

What inspiration did you pull from the Pulse tragedy for your song “Te Perdí”?
On this path, I’ve gotten to know the stories of people that survived that shooting. For example, there was a boy with his mother that lost her life and he survived. There’s a lot of stories of love from that club that have [since] come out. When I went to the studio, I was inspired by loss, or a love that’s gone away, with respect and love for the community that supports me. It is my gift, to be a voice for this situation that should never be repeated. There are people that don’t know about this tragedy and I want to let the world know that this happened. I hope that the victims’ families and the people that survived are living lives of peace and calm.

As La Cruz continues to break

MCU

Marvel Studios Officially Responds To Avengers: Doomsday Leaks

Marvel Studios finally responded to the wave of Avengers: Doomsday leaks that spread across social media over the past several weeks. The fifth Avengers film ranks among the year’s biggest releases. Yet official footage stayed scarce since the first three short trailers Marvel released months ago. So when a blurry clip from the movie surfaced online, fans were quick to share it and debate over its details. The clip was more than a minute long and teased an X-Men and Avengers clash with Doctor Doom, though the rough, unfinished visuals left plenty of room to question whether any of it was genuine.

Over the past weekend, dozens of posts that once displayed the footage went dark. In their place, social platforms displayed a notice that read “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner.” This message points to Marvel Studios filing copyright claims to scrub the clip.

It isn’t much of a surprise for Marvel to do this, given that high-quality stills started to make the rounds after the first blurry clip. The sharper images offered a better look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and showed the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four grouped in a circle, with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers at the front.

While Marvel Studios has taken action here, this does not confirm that the leaked Avengers: Doomsday stills are real. Since AI fakes have become more and more common place, studios have sometimes issued DMCA takedowns to even fake movie stills.

Its also possible that the stills will not actually be part of the final cut of the movie, and instead were only supposed to be used for marketing. Avenger: Infinity War notoriously had many scenes in its trailer that were meant to fake out fans as to what was actually going on in the final movie.

However, the footage stayed live long enough for fans to grab copies and screenshots before it vanished, so they could still resurface on the internet. This isn’t the first Marvel project of 2026 to encounter such a mishap. The second trailer for Brand New Day faced an even bigger challenge, leading Sony to respond the same way Marvel Studios just did.

When Will Fans Get a Proper Look at Doctor Doom and Other Characters?

Marvel Studios

The leaks are a sign of hunger for more Avengers: Doomsday content, which Marvel has been starving fans of. The studio showed a full Doomsday trailer only once, behind closed doors at CinemaCon in April, and that footage still hasn’t been made public yet. Everyone outside that room got only written descriptions of the footage, which is why the bootleg clips found such a hungry audience.

However, fans do not need to fret; a proper look at Doomsday might be around the corner. San Diego Comic-Con takes place from July 22 through July 26, and Marvel Studios returns to Hall H on Saturday, July 25, after skipping the convention last year. Doomsday tops the bill, which makes that panel the likeliest place for a sanctioned trailer and a full HD first look at Doom and the rest of the cast.

A studio-approved trailer would do what the bootlegs cannot. Fans would finally see Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four in finished form, free of the pixelated mess that fueled weeks of arguments.

Marvel also plans a bigger marketing push at D23 in Anaheim later in the summer, so the Comic-Con reveal would likely be the first of several official looks before December. After months of crumbs, this reveal cannot come soon enough.

Supergirl’s Krypton Flashbacks Confirm Superman 2025’s Controversial Twist Is Official DCU Canon

James Gunn’s Superman rewrote one of Kal-El’s (David Corenswet) intricate pieces of lore, and Supergirl is now showing that change is here to stay. When Superman debuted in July 2025, audiences learned that Clark Kent’s biological Kryptonian parents had a far more complicated motivation for sending their son to Earth. While Superman’s origins remained largely recognizable, Gunn’s version revealed a controversial twist about Krypton’s intentions for its last son, sparking intense debate and denial among fans.

One of the biggest surprises in Gunn’s Superman was its reinterpretation of Jor-El (Bradley Cooper) and Lara (Angela Sarafyan), two characters traditionally portrayed as noble Kryptonian figures.

After the full Kryptonian message is decoded, Clark discovers that his birth parents did not send him to Earth simply to survive, or to give the people of Earth something to strive towards, but with the expectation that he would eventually rule over humanity. Something typically saved for Krypton’s General Zod.

This, of course, went away from decades of DC lore, leading many fans to speculate that the message was incomplete, manipulated, or otherwise unreliable.

However, Gunn later confirmed that the message was authentic and fully canon within the DCU, as it speaks to the film’s central theme that Superman’s heroism comes from his values, not biological heritage.

Supergirl, now playing in theaters, has reaffirmed that controversial twist with a flashback to the fall of Krypton.

DC Studios

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Supergirl

The Krypton flashbacks in Supergirl are among the film’s most emotionally resonant sequences. They show the first look into Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) before she became a hero, and the DCU puts a unique spin on where that story begins.

In this version, Kara was not born on Krypton. She was conceived and born on Argo City after the planet had already been largely destroyed. Argo City was her entire world, the only home she had before it too was threatened.

Despite the major twist made in Superman, one classic touchstone survives the retcon intact. During the earlier destruction flashback, well before Kara is born, there is a moment where a small, orb-like spacecraft carrying baby Kal-El blasts off into space on its way to Earth (where audiences will later watch his life 30 years later).

David Krumholtz Zor-El in Supergirl. — DC Studios

Zor-El (David Krumholtz) watches the ship depart and describes the infant as a “Conqueror of Worlds,” a direct callback and confirmation of Superman‘s big twist.

But Supergirl does something pointed with that moment. It does not mean that every Kryptionian would have had the same message for their last son.

When Zor-El and Alura In-Ze (Emily Beecham) decide to send their own daughter to Earth, their reasoning is completely different. They charge Kara to “protect those who can’t protect themselves” and to “do good.”

Not every one of them wanted to rule, and not every Kryptonian shared the same conquest-minded ambition, not even Jor-El’s brother.

Since Superman dropped its Jor-El retcon, a portion of the fandom has wondered whether Kryptonian culture was uniformly corrupt, more in line with Zod’s basic beliefs from DC Comics, or whether Jor-El was simply an outlier. Supergirl provides a nuanced answer. Zor-El and Alura are Kryptonians who are about to die from Kryptonite poisoning. They care much more about their daughter’s life than they do the Kryptonian bloodline.

Before the second DCU film’s release, it was even theorized that Zor-El would step into a more traditional Jor-El role, acting as the scientist hoping to save his world, but also to send his child off as a light in the universe, not its ruler.

It’s kind of ironic, considering Clark is much more of the do-good character, whereas Kara isn’t the same type of hero and will kill her enemies.

The Future of Kryptonians in the DCU

Krumholtz’s Zor-El turns in one of the film’s standout performances, and the flashback sequences to Krypton and Argo City as a whole are among the best of the new film.

In fact, Supergirl never quite closes the book on Argo City. The film strongly implies that Kryptonite radiation spelled the end for everyone left behind after Kara’s departure, but it never definitively confirms it on screen (like seeing the doomed city explode, for example).

Any comic book fan knows that without the preverbial dead body in a grave, there’s always a possibility that a person, place, or thing that’s presumed deceased could come back. In terms of the immediate future of the Alcock’s Supergirl, she will be back in Man of Tomorrow, confirmed to be playing a significant role alongside Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and the rest of its star-studded cast.

The end of Supergirl directly sets up her part in that movie, with Kara now living in Metropolis, confirming to Clark that she will be on Earth to help him whenever he needs. Little do they know at the time of this conversation, but Brainaic will be their greatest battle yet on July 9, 2027.

Microsoft is raising the price of Xbox consoles by $100-$150

Microsoft is raising the price of Xbox Series S and X by $100 for 512 GB models and $150 for 1 TB models, it’s announced, while 2 TB model consoles will be discontinued.

Starting August 1, 2026, the cheapest Series X 1TB model without a disc drive will retail for $749.99, while the disc-drive model will retail for $799.99.

The cheapest 512GB Xbox Series S model will now cost $499.99, with the 1TB model going for $599.99.

Microsoft raised the prices of its Xbox consoles twice last year. The latest rise means that an Xbox Series X disc-drive model now costs $300 more than it did at launch in 2020, while the Series S is 50% more expensive.

In a statement, Xbox blamed the price increases on “the current components crisis” impacting the consumer electronics industry, which has seen all three major console manufacturers raise prices significantly.

“We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers on options,” the company said. “Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x, and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.

New US Xbox Console Prices

Series X 1TB (disc drive) – $799.99 (+$150)
Series X 1TB (digital) – $749.99 (+$150)
Series X 2TB Galaxy Black – Discontinued
Series S 512GB – $499.99 (+$100)
Series S 1TB – $599.99 (+$150

“The entire consumer electronics industry is struggling with the current components crisis, but the effects are particularly hard on consoles. Unlike phones, computers, speakers, and other consumer devices, consoles are typically not sold at a profit, but instead for less than they cost to make.”

Alongside the price rise news, Microsoft announced new programs to help make its consoles more affordable, including Buy Now, Pay Later options through Microsoft Stores, and interest-free financing for up to 12 months via Amazon.

The company also said it’s working with retail partners on new programs to provide previously played consoles at lower prices. “Players who are ready to upgrade or no longer use their console will be able to trade it in with participating retail partners for cash or store credit,” it said. “Those consoles will then be made available at lower prices for players.”

News of the programs follows comments from CEO Asha Sharma earlier this month, indicating that Xbox was exploring ‘radically different business models’ to make its next console affordable. Earlier this week, Valve confirmed its Steam Machine would retail for over $1,000 – a price point some analysts later speculated would be “the floor” for next-gen consoles expected to arrive from 2027.

The global economic situation has piled pressure on game console manufacturers, which have historically reduced prices over time. At this stage of PlayStation 4’s lifecycle, the console retailed for as little as $200, but the cheapest PlayStation 5 model costs 50% more ($200 / £200) than it did at launch in 2020.

Both Sony and Microsoft raised the prices of their game consoles last year. Then, in March, Sony announced a massive $100 price increase for PlayStation 5 consoles, citing the “global economic landscape”. Last month, Nintendo followed with a price increase for Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Japan.

It’s a challenging market for home consoles in general, with prices higher than ever and consumers squeezed by a higher cost of living. According to Circana data, hardware and software sales in the US had the worst November since tracking began in 2025. The average price of new video game hardware in the US in November 2019 was $235, compared with $439 in November 2025.

‘Girls Like Girls’ in Full Bloom

Young love, it’s one of the sweetest kinds of stories to witness take shape and unfold. Naive characters form a connection that’s wildly unfamiliar to them, whereas—I’d bet—many moviegoers are more familiar with that phenomenal four-letter feeling. In films that explore this subject, in all its blissfulness and challenges, there’s both a heartfelt hopefulness and an understood apprehensiveness for the young lovers on-screen. Still, some love stories are remarkably more layered than others, as is the case of those with queer perspectives. On June 16, Film Independent spotlighted one of these perspectives in an advanced screening of the romance drama Girls Like Girls by writer/director Haley Kiyoko, her whirlwind lesbian story come to life. It was followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker and leading cast, Maya da Costa and Myra Molloy, moderated by Mia Vicinio.

Set in 2006 rural Oregon, the film follows teenage Coley (da Costa) who moves in with her estranged father Curtis (Zach Braff) after her mother’s passing. She meets Sonya (Molloy), a high-spirited girl, and the two form an unexpected romance. Self-doubt and social fears seep into their magnetic connection, which they confront and try to learn from for the chance of a blossoming relationship.

Girls Like Girls marks Hayley Kiyoko’s directorial debut and Maya da Costa’s feature-film acting debut. As for Myra Molloy, although not her first film acting role, it marks her first leading role. Each artist was in a unique position to bring something new to the project, and the result was an emotionally-driven and graceful portrait of two girls not only discovering their sexuality, but also a deep attraction for each other as individuals. It’s not often that we get films centered on women or girls falling in love. Kiyoko stated, “I think that representation is so important. We get a movie like this every ten years…and we deserve to be able to name ten movies at the top of our head that are two girls falling in love, or two women—two POC women—starring as leads,” adding, “that’s really challenging to do, so I’m just so immensely proud of their performances.”

Racial identity doesn’t play a significant role in the story, however the main characters are seen and shown as mixed race, and that detail adds to the discourse about the marginalization of queer love that the film explores. Vicinio asked Kiyoko about this intersectionality, “Alienation is a major theme in this film…being queer, being Asian, being mixed race—especially in a place as white as Oregon…and I was wondering how this story has helped you and also your fans to process these feelings of isolation, and the catharsis that comes with a story like this.” Kiyoko replied, “I think if I was any age being able to buy a ticket to see a movie like this…it would’ve absolutely changed my life…my experience knowing that I was queer at such a young age was so silent. I didn’t get to share it with people. It was through a glance, it was through a look, it was me overthinking a DM or AIM message, so it was really important for me to try to capture that internal process visually.”

Girls Like Girls is not just a film, it’s an intellectual property that Haley Kiyoko has been carefully crafting since the release of her hit song and viral music video of the same name back in 2015. It was absolutely inescapable at the time, especially in LGBTQIA+ spaces, cementing her as a pop icon in the community. Then, it was materialized into a young adult novel published in 2023 becoming a New York Times bestseller. Fast forward to now, the film adaptation, but it certainly wasn’t an easy journey. “I’m so proud to have not given up…they make it so hard for us to tell stories from different perspectives from different people—and yet we’re not niche! There were so many moments of pitching this film where people were like ‘You’re queer, you’re Asian, you’re a woman; who’s gonna watch this?’ I’m like—millionsof people.” Here’s hoping exactly that, because when all is said and done, it’s a romance drama for queer people just as much as it can be for allies.

Girls Like Girls is now in theaters nationwide! A special thanks to The Golden Globe Foundation, KCRW, and Focus Features for making this event possible. A shoutout to Focus Features for providing custom-made Girls Like Girls Pride flags for our members to wave this Pride Month, and each one after.

‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ Video: Sombr Falls in Love With Inde Navarrette

“Obsession” meets “Off Campus” in Sombr‘s new music video for “My Body Isn’t Ready,” which stars Inde Navarrette and Josh Heuston.

The song, one of the young rocker’s most vulnerable to date, sees Sombr overcome by insecurities. “I like you but my body isn’t ready / I want you but the mirror won’t let me,” he sings on the chorus. In the video, he spots a pretty girl at a party (Navarrette) before he is driven out by a group of bullies (including Heuston and a card trick magician).

The 20-year-old singer-songwriter spends the rest of the video trying to hide. He even covers himself in paper mache and is carried around like a mannequin before Navarrette sees him for who he truly is and helps him break out of his shell — both literally and figuratively.

Born Shane Michael Boose, Sombr broke out in 2024 with the dreamy breakup ballad “Back to Friends.” His debut album “I Barely Know Her” turned him into a pop sensation, and this year he played Coachella and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and announced a five-month North American tour.

On Thursday night, Sombr will appear on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” as both a musical and interview guest. He is also gearing up to announce a surprise free concert in New York on Friday. Details on the show — such as where it will take place or how to RSVP — are still to come.

To właśnie w tych grach Twoje własne umiejętności strategiczne mogą z pewnością zabłysnąć i zmienić szalę zwycięstwa na Twoją własną korzyść.

To dodaje wyjątkowej społecznej dynamiki.

Kasyno w telefonie: Twoje kasyno nieprzerwanie w kieszeni

Clive Davis Funeral: Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys to Take Part

Clive Davis — the legendary record executive who died Monday at the age of 94 — cast as long a shadow across the music world as any executive, and participants in his funeral will bear that out.

Sources tell Variety that artists from his long career who are expected to participate include Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Kenny G and Jennifer Hudson, with more likely to take part. Davis played a key role in the careers of those artists and many others.

The funeral is scheduled for Monday in New York City, although the location has not been announced.

Over the course of a 60-year-plus career, Davis steered Columbia, Arista and J Records to the pinnacle of the pop music business. In the late ‘60s, Davis lucratively moved staid Columbia into the rock business, signing or developing such talents as Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana and Bruce Springsteen. After leaving Columbia, he launched Arista Records – an amalgamation of down-at-the-heels imprints owned by Columbia Pictures – where vocalist Whitney Houston was only the biggest and brightest star on a roster of top pop, rock and R&B acts. A quarter century later, following an awkward merger between parent companies Sony and Bertelsmann, an attempt to push him out of Arista and into retirement resulted instead in his third act with J, a new imprint best known for launching singer-songwriter Alicia Keys.

Davis was so well known in the music industry that he was usually referred to, respectfully, by his first name alone.

Noted for his personal elegance, extravagant style and love of the limelight, Davis for years hosted a lavish annual Grammy Week party that was the music business’ most coveted social ducat. The event, featuring live performances by marquee names and loquaciously MCed by Davis, became an official Recording Academy function in 2009.

David Clayton-Thomas, Canadian Singer of Blood, Sweat & Tears, Dies at 84

After the war ended, the family moved to Canada, settling in Willowdale, a Toronto suburb. In his 2010 memoir, “Blood, Sweat and Tears,” Mr. Clayton-Thomas wrote that his father, a violent alcoholic, beat him with fists, boots and razor straps, and his mother did not intervene.

He left home at 15, sleeping in deserted buildings, stealing food and clothing, and brawling in the street. He wound up spending time in reformatories and labor camps, and was eventually sentenced to short stints in prison.

“I was called a habitual offender,” he told The Star. “So even though none of the things I did was that bad — joyriding, vagrancy, kid stuff like that — I did them so often that they kept putting me in worse and worse holes.”

At Millbrook prison in Ontario, he learned guitar on a battered instrument and developed an instant “kinship” with folk and blues music — songs by men who were “dirt-poor working-class hobos with nothing to their name,” he wrote in his memoir.

When he left the institution, at 21, he changed his surname to Clayton-Thomas, to avoid trouble with the police, and began to haunt Yonge Street, a rowdy, club-filled strip in Toronto. A self-described “leather-clad, Telecaster-playing thug,” Mr. Clayton-Thomas sat in with Ronnie Hawkins’s band, the Hawks, which later morphed into Bob Dylan’s backing group, the Band.

Tim Ryan Dead: Former Variety Honolulu Correspondent Was 80

Tim Ryan, a former Honolulu Star-Bulletin reporter who also reported on Hawaii’s film and television industry for Variety, died June 20 in West Seattle, Washington after a long illness. He was 80.

Ryan was the Star-Bulletin’s senior entertainment writer from 1984 to 2006 and reported on film and television productions in Hawaii and on local and visiting celebrities.

After leaving the newspaper, Ryan became the Hawaii film and television correspondent for Variety, and also wrote for the Hollywood Reporter, People, Newsweek, and Islands magazine, where he was a contributing editor.

For Variety, Ryan wrote about the Maui Film Festival, the Hawaii Film Festival, and the boom in filming with shows like “Lost” and “North Shore” shooting in the Aloha state. He also wrote obituaries for Hawaiian music figures such as Don Ho’s mother, Jerry Byrd and Del Courtney as well as “Hawaii Five-O” actor Kam Fong.

Ryan was born in Hollywood. His father was Timothy Thomas Ryan, whose long entertainment career included acting in “From Here to Eternity,” the 1953 film classic about military life in Hawaii before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Ryan was an avid surfer in Hawaii and later in Washington after moving to the mainland in 2013. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Wilcox, and daughter Carly, both of West Seattle. They will spread Ryan’s ashes at his favorite surf spots.

Ontario city, local restaurant file lawsuits against each other over arena naming deal – Toronto

The fight between an Ontario city and a restaurant over the naming rights for a local sports and entertainment venue is escalating — with both parties filing competing lawsuits.

It was the end of May when the City of Mississauga abruptly announced it would rename the Paramount Fine Food Centre, claiming the restaurant, run by Mohamed Fakih, owed it $1.6 million.

Now both parties have filed separate legal claims.

On June 19, Fakih filed a statement of claim against Mayor Carolyn Parrish and the City of Mississauga seeking millions in damages for libel and defamation.

“The City and the Mayor at all material times knew Mr. Fakih to be, acutely sensitive to the reputation and public image of the Paramount brand, particularly within the City of Mississauga, where the Facility bears the Paramount name,” part of his claim read.

Story continues below advertisement

It went on to claim that that sensitivity was “exploited.”

Three days after Fakih filed his defamation claim, the City of Mississauga fired off its own legal demand.

A statement of claim from Mississauga called for Fakih and his company to pay $9 million in damages for breach of contract over the naming of the city’s main sports arena.

The documents claim Paramount “fell into default” on its payments for the naming and concession rights at the stadium.

Adding it made “intermittent and inadequate payments” for the arena.

Fakih, in his own legal filings, said shareholder issues had held up payments, which he had always been committed to making.

Can players from Quebec access tutorials in French?

Yes, Casino Prestige makes en.wikipedia.org all instructional content available in both English and French. The site acknowledges Canada’s bilingual nature and guarantees that language is never an obstacle to education. Quebec users can change the interface language at any moment and experience the same seamless, captivating experience as English-speaking players.

Can I practice the games without risking real money after the tutorial?

Certainly. Each tutorial links directly to a trial version of the game it covers. In demo mode, users get a stack of virtual credits to play with, mimicking real betting flow. This hands-on sandbox is where theory meets practice. Canadian players can repeat the demo as many times as they need to cement strategies, explore different bet sizes, and build muscle memory before committing any actual CAD funds.

How long does it take to complete a typical game tutorial?

Most tutorials are designed to be completed in 10 to 20 minutes, based on the complexity of the game and the learner’s pace. A simple guide on roulette outside bets might take 8 minutes, while an in-depth Texas Hold’em strategy module could extend to 25 minutes. The micro-learning format allows users to pause and resume anytime, making it easy to fit a lesson into a coffee break or a commute in cities like Calgary or Winnipeg.

Do the tutorials cover responsible gambling practices for Canada?

Absolutely, responsible gambling is woven into every tutorial instead of being a standalone, skippable section. Each module includes tips on setting deposit limits, recognizing signs of problem play, and using session time reminders. The platform also references Canadian resources such as provincial helplines and self-exclusion programs. Casino Prestige treats responsible gaming as a key skill, not an afterthought, empowering players to make informed choices that match their personal limits.

Will I learn real strategies that can reduce the house edge?

Definitely. The tutorials extend past basic rules to teach effective, mathematically sound strategies. Blackjack guides explain basic strategy charts that reduce the house edge to under 1%. Video poker modules explain optimal hold decisions for games like Jacks or Better. While no system ensures profits, grasping these approaches assists https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/55599-04 Canadian players make smarter bets and maximize their entertainment. The emphasis is on informed play, not false promises of conquering the casino.

The way Canadian Players Use Tutorials on Every Device

Availability is a key part of Casino Prestige’s design philosophy. The entire tutorial library is present directly through the website, with no download needed, and it functions smoothly on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. A person from Ottawa expecting a bus can begin a lesson on video poker and continue right where they left off, with touch-optimized controls that feel natural. The responsive design ensures that annotated graphics and interactive elements remain crisp on all screen sizes. This flexibility suits the on-the-go lifestyle of many Canadians who choose to learn in short bursts throughout the day.

Account syncing enables you can start a craps tutorial on your laptop at home, then continue it on your phone during lunch while keeping your place. Bookmarks and completion badges encourage you to keep going. There’s also an offline reading mode for text-heavy guides, allowing you to study strategy charts without eating into your mobile data. This level of attention to the Canadian market, whereby data plans vary widely and rural connectivity isn’t always reliable, proves the platform understands its audience. By stripping away technical barriers, the tutorials stay easy to use.

Establishing Confidence Before Betting Actual Cash

Confidence built through education significantly influences the quality of play. Casino Prestige witnessed that players who complete at least two full tutorials before depositing exhibit longer session times, fewer impulsive bets, and higher overall satisfaction. This correlation is no accident. When someone understands the odds of hitting a flush draw in Texas Hold’em or the house edge on a specific roulette bet, they make decisions grounded in logic rather than emotion. The platform guides learners from theory to demo practice, ensuring that real-money wagers are placed with clear eyes and steady hands.

Slot machine mechanics Broken down Without technical terms

Slot machines might appear basic at first glance, but modern video slots come packed with features like cascading reels, Megaways, and bonus buy options that might bewilder newcomers. Casino Prestige clarifies these elements with straightforward language and visual demonstrations. A typical tutorial commences by launching a demo version of a popular slot, then overlays arrows and captions that outline paylines, symbol values, and trigger conditions for free spins. Canadian users can spin the reels risk-free while narration guides them through each spin’s outcome, turning learning an active process rather than passive reading.

Hands-on Game Tutorials That Break Down Complicated Rules

Traditional written guides often baffle beginners with jargon and dense paragraphs. Casino Prestige sidesteps that problem by providing interactive tutorials that simulate real gameplay. Instead of studying roulette betting options, a user navigates a virtual table, places chips, and sees instant feedback on what each move means. This hands-on method activates muscle memory and visual learning channels, making abstract concepts sink in. Canadian players who have tested the platform applaud how quickly complex rules become second nature. The interface is polished, uncluttered, and accessible in English and French, tailored to the nation’s bilingual audience.

Bankroll Management Tips Integrated Into Every Lesson

One of the most neglected skills in casino gaming is fund management. Casino Prestige ensures that no tutorial finishes without covering smart budgeting. Each game-specific guide contains a dedicated segment on setting loss limits, comprehending bet sizing relative to a bankroll, and knowing when to quit. These lessons are not presented as boring warnings but as essential parts of the strategy itself. For instance, the blackjack tutorial illustrates how modifying bet amounts based on the true count can protect funds during a cold streak, making the concept practical and directly actionable.
