In what world is Glassman unable to do surgery anymore?

Glassman might have occasionally forgotten a word on The Good Doctor Season 6 Episode 20, but he came through when it counted. Shaun repeatedly noted that Glassman noticed symptoms no one else did and devised an innovative surgical option when the patient suffered a hemorrhage during a complicated procedure.

Yet Lim immediately jumped to the conclusion that Glassman could no longer do surgery based on Glassman’s brain scan and Shaun’s explanation that Glassman could no longer do well under pressure. Something doesn’t add up here.

Shaun may be right that Glassman suffered a mini-stroke, but so what? His symptoms are no different than normal age-related blips in short-term memory, and no one would have been concerned if Shaun hadn’t obsessively searched for a diagnosis.

Lim’s conclusion wasn’t based on any evidence of incompetence. The facts suggest the opposite conclusion — Glassman is very competent despite some holes in his short-term memory.

All she needs to do is watch the video of Glassman’s recent surgery to realize that. Glassman performed fine under pressure and successfully led his team through a complicated, risky surgery that nobody else thought was a good idea.

Afterward, he had an animated conversation with the patient about baseball.

That should have made Shaun realize he was wrong to worry about Glassman’s executive function. Instead, it made him decide that Glassman had permanent brain damage that impeded his ability to practice. What?

The best doctors look not only at scans and tests but at how symptoms affect patients. Since Glassman has no ill effects from this alleged mini-stroke, there is little reason to think he is a danger to anyone if he continues to do surgery.

Glassman’s hesitation during the operation he performed may have been thanks to Shaun causing unnecessary stress.

Shaun was the classic example of the hammer seeing nails everywhere; he kept finding signs of problems that weren’t there, doubting Glassman at every turn, and not letting him finish his sentences most of the time.

With Shaun in the operating room waiting to catch Glassman making an error, how could Glassman not feel extra pressure? It’s a testimony to his brilliance as a doctor that he could perform as well as he did with Shaun breathing down his neck.

Shut out the noise. People are going to have opinions whether you hit 300 or you get off the base. Whatever decision you make will be the right decision.

Glassman

Glassman’s advice to his patient reflected this. When he recommended shutting out others’ opinions and doing what you know is right for yourself,  it felt like he was talking to himself.

Glassman has had to ignore others’ opinions throughout his life, but the person making the most noise recently is Shaun. Glassman will not retire or undergo tests just because Shaun says so.

And if Lim thinks she will easily take away Glassman’s scalpel, she’s in for a rude awakening. Unsurprisingly, the spoiler video for The Good Doctor Season 6 Episode 21 suggests that Glassman is ready to go to war over this nonsense, as well he should.

Lim’s decision was almost as annoying as Asher’s attitude toward religion. I was disappointed that Jerome’s problem with Asher was that Asher’s opinions, in general, are too strong for him rather than being annoyed about Asher’s broad-brush view of religion.

Asher, like many people who have been burned by religious extremism, decided all religion is evil.

His comments about the LGBTQIA community were ridiculous, considering that many people in the community believe in God, and some churches and temples are proud to be LGBT-inclusive,

Jerome said that he felt like Asher called him a moron but never once pushed back on Asher’s beliefs about religion being useless. Asher didn’t even notice that Jerome was upset after he made those comments.

Talk about being self-centered!

Eddie’s faith had gotten him through a lot of difficult times. Asher didn’t need to share it, but he didn’t need to denigrate it either.

I’d have liked more character growth in that area instead of Asher realizing he took Jerome for granted and apologizing.

Eddie’s death saddened everyone but also conformed to the trope of death waking people up to how short life is.

Asher decided he needed to be more open about his gratitude for Jerome’s presence. Andrews and Villanueva agreed to try again, and Jordan and Danny decided to move forward even though they weren’t sure what that looked like.

Was anyone else surprised that Jared didn’t come in while Jordan and Danny were hugging?

The best news of the hour was Morgan’s decision to take baby Eden. I’ve been waiting since the two crossed paths for her to decide this.

Morgan isn’t usually my favorite character, but baby Eden brings out a softness in her that was never there before.

She was focused on caring for that baby, yet willing to let her go if another couple wanted to give Eden a good life.

Morgan didn’t manipulate or try to discourage the other couple from taking Eden; she did the opposite, reassuring them that they could care for Eden’s special needs. It wasn’t until they refused to do so that she realized she needed to be this baby’s mother.

Social worker: I don’t have anyone else lined up. Can you give a me a few days?
Morgan: No. I know the perfect foster mother for Eden. Me.

It was a predictable moment but also a sweet payoff for viewers waiting for Morgan to wake up and realize that she loved baby Eden and wanted to adopt her.

Your turn, The Good Doctor fanatics. Hit the big, blue SHOW COMMENTS button and let us know your thoughts about the Glassman situation, Asher and Jerome’s conflict, and Morgan deciding to adopt Eden.

It appears Fox News employees will be shielded by a big white tent outside the courthouse as the company’s staff arrives and exits from their trial against Dominion Voting Systems.

Fox Corp., the umbrella company of Fox News, and Dominion Voting Systems are gearing up to take one another on in court after the voting tech company sued the news organization for $1.6 billion, accusing Fox News of falsely reporting that Dominion rigged the 2020 election between President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

The trial — which was supposed to begin on Monday, but has since been delayed by a day by Judge Eric M. Davis — will take place in Delaware Superior Court. Set to take the stand and testify are Fox News personalities Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Fox Corp. Chair Rupert Murdoch.

When the trial does go into session, photographers and other media outlets may have trouble grabbing a snapshot of the Fox News crew, as there’s a big white tent that seems to be a coverup for the Fox News witnesses.

“Behind the courthouse they’ve actually built this tent, where we assume Murdoch and other high-profile witnesses will actually drive right into that tent,” NewsNation’s Brian Entin reported in a segment you can watch at the top of this file. “You won’t be able to see anything. They get out of the car, and then they’re able to walk inside out of the view of cameras.”

Opening statements for the trial were slated for Monday, but after it was announced on Sunday that the trial would be delayed, the court shared “the start of the trial” will now be Tuesday. News outlets have reported that the delay may be due to Fox attempting to settle the case.

Lincoln Center will bring back its Summer for the City festival this year, the organization announced on Monday, continuing its efforts to attract new audiences by embracing a wide variety of genres, including pop and classical music, social dance and comedy.

There will be a weeklong celebration of hip-hop, performances by the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra and a Korean cultural festival. A flock of 200 neon-pink flamingo lawn ornaments will adorn a pool near David Geffen Hall, part of a reimagining of the center’s outdoor spaces by the Broadway costume and set designer Clint Ramos.

“The hope is to transform the campus — to upend people’s expectations of what Lincoln Center is,” Shanta Thake, the center’s chief artistic officer, said in an interview. “To allow people to just come and play and understand that this isn’t a precious palace on a hill, but a place to inspire joy.”

Under Henry Timms, Lincoln Center’s president and chief executive, the organization has worked in recent years to appeal to a younger, more diverse crowd. Its efforts have led to some grumbling among fans of more traditional genres, who say the center is not doing enough to promote classical music. Some elements of the Mostly Mozart rubric have been reduced in recent years, including guest ensembles, intimate recitals and performances of new music that flows out of the classical tradition.

The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra will perform 13 concerts over three weeks, beginning with a program on July 22 that features Mozart’s Concerto No. 2 for Flute, with the soloist Jasmine Choi, as well as the Korean folk song “Arirang” and Soo Yeon Lyuh’s “Dudurim.” The performance is also part of Korean Arts Week, which includes K-pop bands, DJs and a film festival.

It will be Mostly Mozart’s last season with Louis Langrée, who has been the ensemble’s music director since 2002. His contract expires this year.

Thake said that Mostly Mozart would maintain a presence after Langrée’s exit. She said that the center was in talks with the orchestra about future seasons, and that they were discussing how Mostly Mozart “fits within the values of Lincoln Center,” including efforts to reach new audiences and promote inclusivity.

“There’s no doubt that the orchestra will maintain a central place in our programming going forward,” she said.

Hip-hop will be front and center as part of a celebration of its 50th anniversary, with performances by J.Period, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane.

An opera based on Octavia E. Butler’s novel “Parable of the Sower,” by the folk and blues musician Toshi Reagon and the composer Bernice Johnson Reagon, will get its New York City premiere at Geffen Hall on July 14.

Social dance returns on June 14 with a performance of Cuban music by the singer Lucrecia and the salsa band 8 Y Más. The giant disco ball that hung over the main plaza last year, also designed by Ramos, will be back too.

More than 300,000 people attended last year’s festival, which aimed at helping New York City heal after the upheaval brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. More than three-quarters of them had never before bought a ticket to a Lincoln Center offering, according to the center.

Thake said she was not overly concerned about skeptics who worry that the center’s identity has changed too much.

“To those people I say, It’s wonderful that you have found a home at Lincoln Center and what a gift it has been that Lincoln Center has been a home for so many for so long,” she said. “All that we are doing right now is opening up that invitation. And really having many, many more New Yorkers be able to say the exact same thing. That’s a real gift, and something that not only we can do, but something that we really have to do.”

Lincoln Center will bring back its Summer

Can a poor lost soul rise above the ashes of his former self to find new life again? In Angus Benfield’s feature film, Yellow Bird, Benfield plays Jake Rush, a once successful PR specialist who now lives in his car and works as a bag boy a the local supermarket, The Yellow Bird.

When the film begins, Jake is on the cusp of losing everything. Compromising photos insinuating he’s having an affair with a co-worker have surfaced. So, Jake’s entitled wife, Ellie (Ena O’Rourke), decides to divorce him once and for all and release poor Jake from this loveless marriage. Jake’s spirit is further broken at work by his college-age boss, Scotty (Michael Maclane).

In a twist of fate, Scotty decides to trot Jake in front of his father, Lawrence (Scott King), the owner of The Yellow Bird, in hopes of transferring him to a new location. Instead, Lawrence is impressed with Jake’s demeanor and business experience that he swaps jobs between Jake and Scotty. Now Jake has to prove he has what it takes to be a leader by turning around the lackluster store and his ever-messy divorce.

“Compromising photos surface…Jake’s entitled wife, Ellie, decides to divorce him once and for all…”

Written by Tony Jerris, Yellow Bird is a sweet story of redemption. Though the plot primarily focuses on Jake, the cast of characters is also looking for a bit of hope. Jake’s mother, Rachel (Kathy Garver), has the beginnings of onset Alzheimers after the loss of Jake’s father. Jake gives a chance to his fellow AA cohort, Krystal (Plastic Martyr), who needs to work on her abrasive attitude. Teen co-worker Becky is in a less-than-healthy relationship, but Jake finds a special platonic bond with her. We also slowly uncover the true reason for Scotty’s bad behavior, and lastly, helping Jake out is a talking garden gnome voiced by the great Brian Doyle-Murray.

Overall, Yellow Bird falls in the family-friendly realm. It’s an independent comedy/light drama brimming with positivity. Most audiences will identify with the struggles that Jake and the others are going through. The film is the injection of hope and goodwill that we need now more than ever. But, at the same time, if you’re looking for high drama or a deep dive into the psychology of an almost homeless man, you won’t find it here.

If I had one wish, it would be that Benfield and Jerris delve a bit deeper into Jake’s alcoholism back as a way to inform the character’s current situation. Yes, connections regarding Jake’s past are established, but it feels like it’s glossed over as a minor element. You see the effects of Jake’s past, but I want to feel them emotionally as a way to connect with him.

Yellow Bird does quite a bit with its modest budget and blend of veteran and emerging actors like Kathy Garver, Brian Doyle-Murray, and voice actor Melissa Disney. Several background players are also given a chance to shine, including trans-actor Plastic Martyr, Ena O’Rourke, and star Angus Benfield to name a few. The film is brimming with that independent film spirit — a modest comedy perfect for anyone needing a bit of encouragement in life.

Under the radar. Rooney Mara and Joaquin

So with the launch of the Nvidia RTX 4070, all eyes have really been on the anticipated release of the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti, but if a recent report pans out, don’t get your hopes up. This launch could suck.

At least that’s the word from Red Gaming Tech (opens in new tab), whose sources put the price tag for the RTX 4060 Ti at $450, or $50 more than the RTX 3060 Ti it’s replacing. That’s a nearly 13% increase gen-over-gen, and while it doesn’t sound like that big of a price increase, it really is, and the RTX 3060 Ti was already more expensive than it needed to be when it launched.

The performance target for the RTX 4060 Ti appears to be on par with the RTX 3070, though toss in DLSS 3 and Frame Generation, and you can expect to get better performance while gaming than you would with the RTX 3070, when those features are enabled with your games. That isn’t always the case, obviously.

And, given prices everywhere have gone up, it shouldn’t be any surprise that Nvidia’s will too. There’s just one problem: nobody has any money, and further putting GPUs out of reach of gamers who missed out on an entire GPU generation due to cryptominers and scalper bots is a great way to turn loyal customers very bitter.

Now, to be clear, this is one rumor, and so everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt until we actually hear something more official from Nvidia. And, plenty of “leaks” about pricing for Nvidia’s Lovelace series have gotten it wrong, so we can’t throw up our hands in exasperation totally. Still, if Nvidia keeps up this trend and starts charging more for these lower-tier cards, they’ll be in for a rude awakening from gamers.

Nvidia will burn a lot of its fans if it overprices its budget cards

There hasn’t been a single Lovelace card that’s sold for its predecessor’s price, and as our buddies over at PC Gamer (opens in new tab) point out, this is increasingly unjustifiable the lower down the GPU stack you go.

The Nvidia RTX 4090 ran laps around the RTX 3090 Ti and was putting up just stupid numbers against the rest of the Ampere generation. Considering the RTX 3090 had an MSRP of $1,499 and the RTX 4090 bumped that up by $100, this was much more of an acceptable tradeoff. A roughly 7% price bump for a card putting out 50-60% better performance at 4K? That seemed pretty reasonable, at least relative to the pricing of the 3090 and 3090 Ti.

Then came the RTX 4080, which was priced to match the RTX 3080 Ti and completely yeeted itself right out of the conversation on that basis. The RTX 4070 Ti was better, but not by much, and the RTX 4070 really is about the threshold of what a lot of gamers are willing to tolerate at this point.

And much like the RTX 4070 offered RTX 3080 performance (and even RTX 3080 Ti performance) at $599 (a 20% increase in price over the RTX 3070), at this point we honestly should expect to see Nvidia price the RTX 4060 Ti higher as well to go along with what is expected to be similarly improved performance.

But what does any of this even matter if gamers can’t afford to buy the cards you’re trying to sell them? Given that finding stock of the RTX 4070 in the US and UK is still fairly easy, it doesn’t seem like a lot of gamers are jumping at the chance to buy the 4070 at its MSRP. Many of them probably can’t afford to drop $600 on a GPU, and they’re probably waiting for the RTX 4060 Ti to finally make the jump.

So Nvidia might really put itself in a bind if it hits these gamers with a price increase that puts the successor to our pick for the best graphics card of the last generation out of reach when for many this is the card that most of them have been waiting for.

It is literally the kind of thing that could turn long-time Team Green partisans into AMD devotees, especially as AMD still has yet to even announce its Radeon RX 7800 XT, much less its more budget-friendly cards further down the stack. And if those cards are anywhere near as good as what we saw with the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Nvidia might royally fumble the bag on what is probably its most important graphics card release of the year.

Honestly, Nvidia, for just this one card if nothing else, keep the MSRP where it was the last time around. The extra $50 a card just isn’t worth it.

With the 50th anniversary of “Enter the Dragon” around the corner, the TCM Classic Film Festival held a special screening on Saturday night of the iconic film to a packed audience to celebrate the legacy of the timeless martial arts classic.

The screening was part of the WB100 festivities, celebrating the Warner Bros. Studio’s 100th anniversary.

“I was a punk kid, I was 28 years old and I had a friend who believed in me and his partner was Fred Weintraub who had a relationship with Bruce who said ‘If you come up with something for me I will do it’ because by then he had become a big star in Hong Kong and they asked me to write it,” screenwriter Michael Allin said as part of the Q&A which took place before the screening. Watch the embed below.

Allin added that it took three weeks to write the script, “From treatment to finished movie was four months.”

Actor, hip-hop artist and film composer RZA described how the movie was the inspiration for his rap group Wu-Tang Clan’s first album, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).”

“Hip-hop itself starts in August 1973 so ‘Enter the Dragon’ and hip hop have this parallel life,” Rza said. “It’s the 50th anniversary of hip hop, it’s the 50th anniversary of this film.”

“It is no coincidence that my first album is partly named after this film,” Rza added.

Released theatrically in August of 1973, “Enter the Dragon” remains one of the most influential and beloved martial arts films of all time, thanks in no small part to the legendary performance of its magnetic star, Bruce Lee. With a cast of memorable characters, catchy one-liners, thrilling action sequences, and a powerful message about the importance of self-discipline and inner strength, “Enter the Dragon” continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the world, five decades after its initial release.

Of course, the legacy of “Enter the Dragon” extends far beyond its impact on martial arts and action cinema. Bruce Lee’s performance in the film remains one of the most iconic and influential in film history, and his impact on popular culture cannot be overstated. From his signature fighting style to his philosophy of self-improvement, Lee’s influence can be seen in everything from video games to hip-hop music.

Made on a budget of about $875,000, “Enter the Dragon’s” worldwide gross is estimated to be over $2 billion when adjusted for inflation.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will also release the 50th Anniversary edition of “Enter the Dragon” remastered and available for the first time in 4K Ultra-High Definition.

Jonathan Majors and his talent manager Entertainment 360 have parted ways, an insider has confirmed to Variety. The development comes three weeks after the “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” actor was arrested on charges of assault and harassment in New York in late March.

Majors has also been dropped by his former public relations manager, the Lede Company. A source with knowledge of the PR company confirmed that the actor was removed as a client last month.

No immediate comment was made available by Entertainment 360 or the Lede Company.

The 33-year-old actor was arrested in Manhattan on March 25 and charged with assault and harassment regarding a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. New York police responded to a 911 call, leading to Majors being taken into custody. The unnamed victim was hospitalized with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” according to authorities.

Majors’ legal team has denied that the assault took place, alleging that evidence exists that would clear the actor of the charges.

“Mr. Majors completely denies assaulting the woman,” Majors’ criminal defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry said in a statement in the week after the arrest. Chaudry also released a series of text messages that were allegedly exchanged between Majors and the 30-year-old woman to further contextualize the situation.

Before his arrest, Majors was widely seen as a rising star in Hollywood. The actor earned an Emmy nomination for “Lovecraft Country” and had marquee roles in two spring blockbusters this year, “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” His was set to reprise his “Quantumania” role, the villainous multiverse traveler Kang, in future Marvel projects, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Majors earned critical praise for his performance in “Magazine Dreams,” which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures only days before the actor was arrested.

Deadline was first to report the break between Majors and Entertainment 360.

Pooja Hegde to play Salman Khan’s romantic interest in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Pooja Hegde reveals that she used to refer to Salman Khan as ‘bhai’ when they had just met.

Pooja Hegde is gearing up for the release of her next film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The action entertainer has her paired opposite Salman Khan for the first time and their chemistry in songs like Naiyo Lagda and Jee Rahe The Hum have caught the attention of many. Interestingly, the trailer of the film sees her calling him ‘bhai’ despite them sharing a romantic equation, which has left the audience in splits. And now, in an exclusive chat with News18, Pooja reveals that she indeed used to refer to Salman as ‘bhai’ when they had just met.

“In the beginning when I had just met him, I called him bhai. That’s because everyone calls him that. But it’s a very natural tendency to call him bhai as the whole world calls him so. In the film, everyone calls him bhaijaan. So, we played on that in a comic way. My character doesn’t want to call him bhai and she keeps making these mistakes. People have liked that and they’re finding it funny.”

She tells us that that she now calls him SK, the acronym of his name. Quiz her how Salman reacted when she referred to him as ‘bhai’ and Pooja says, “Now, I call him SK because he has asked me to. He told me that I can call him Salman too but I can’t (laughs)! At one point, I called him Salman sir but he started calling me ma’am. I told him not to do that. Now, we’ve settled at SK.”

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has also been making headlines for its songs. While Jee Rahe The Hum has been crooned by Salman, the dance number Yentamma has a cameo appearance by Ram Charan. Pooja believes that she has been rather fortunate for being associated with some chartbusters throughout her career. Happy with the way the audience is accepting the music of the film, she remarks, “I’ve been lucky when it comes to songs. Be it Butta Bomma, Samajavaragamana (both from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo) or Arabic Kuthu (from Beast), which went super viral on reels, I’ve had a good experience with songs. Even Naiyo Lagda got millions of views in such a short time.”

And what makes Yentamma even more special for the Cirkus (2022) and Housefull 4 (2019) actor is the fact that it gave her the opportunity of collaborating with Ram for the third time. Earlier, she had a cameo in the song Jigelu Rani from his film Rangastalam (2018) and then they were paired opposite each other in Acharya (2022). Sharing her excitement of reuniting with him, she says, “It has been great. He is an absolute sweetheart,” she says.

Talking about how it was the RRR (2022) actor’s idea to make a special appearance in the song, Pooja recalls, “We were shooting in Hyderabad. He came to meet Salman sir and told him that he also wanted to be a part of our film. Everyone thought he was joking. I don’t know what happened after I left but he came to the set the next day and I saw him in his look. I think it was really sweet of him to do the song. I believe it was his idea to do it.”

A Salman Khan Film production, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is directed by Farhad Samji. The film also stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika Chawla, Vijender Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar. It is slated to release on Eid 2023.

The Marvels features a star-studded cast of new and returning MCU characters that take the spotlight in the highly-anticipated sequel.

Captain Marvel 2‘s promotional drive is officially in full swing, giving fans the first glimpse at Brie Larson‘s MCU comeback as the titular hero alongside newcomers to the big screen: Iman Vellani‘s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris‘ Monica Rambeau.

Aside from the main trio of heroes, the sequel also banners an unexpected ensemble of characters as announced by Disney and confirmed in The Marvels’ kick-off trailer.

Who’s In the Cast of Captain Marvel 2?

1.) Brie Larson – Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel

Marvel Studios

Brie Larson returns as the powerful cosmic hero in Captain Marvel 2.

Ms. Marvel‘s post-credits scene revealed that the Avenger traded places with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, indicating that the pair’s powers are connected with one another.

After 2019’s Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame hinted that Carol Danvers is not a team player, the sequel will look to develop the titular hero as a leader, guiding Kamala and Monica in this important mission before eventually returning to suit up alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

More so, given the presence of the Kree in the trailer, The Marvels will also look to continue some story elements from the first film after Carol leaves the Kree Starforce and sends Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg to send a warning to the Kree Empire.

2.) Teyonah Parris – Monica Rambeau

Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambaeu, The Marvels
Marvel Studios

Teyonah Parris gave an impactful and memorable performance as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision, with the Disney+ series unleashing her superpowers while setting up her return alongside Nick Fury in space.

The Marvels‘ official synopsis confirmed that Monica has been promoted to a SABER astronaut following her Westview mission in the Elizabeth Olsen-led series, indicating that she is monitoring cosmic threats.

Moreover, Teyonah Parris also confirmed that Monica will look to “finally” deal with her issues with her aunt Carol.

3.) Iman Vellani – Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel

Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, The Marvels

After leading her own Disney+ series, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is set to make her big-screen debut in Captain Marvel 2.

The trailer showed that the Avengers super-fan is ecstatic to finally meet Nick Fury and her idol, Captain Marvel. On a more important note, the sequel is poised to explain the origins of her magical bangle as well as potentially touch on her status as a mutant.

4.) Samuel L. Jackson – Nick Fury

Before his big-screen return in The Marvels, Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury will first deal with the emerging Skrull threat in Secret Invasion.

It remains to be seen how Secret Invasion will impact Fury’s role in the upcoming sequel, but the character actually being present in the movie suggests that he will survive the events of the Disney+ series.

Jackson previously teased that he is looking forward to tackling “something other than the badassery of who Nick Fury is” in the sequel.

5.) Zawe Ashton – Dar-Benn

Awe Ashton as Dar-Benn, The Marvels
Marvel Studios

Zawe Ashton is set to make her MCU debut as The Marvels‘ main villain.

Alongside Disney’s confirmation that the actress is portraying a big bad named Dar-Benn, the trailer showed that the character is wielding an Accuser hammer, which is the same weapon used by Ronan the Accuser from Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy.

It is unknown how the villain fits in the sequel, but it is possible that she is responsible for entangling the powers of the main MCU trio.

6.) Park Seo-joon

Park Seo-joon, The Marvels
Marvel Studios

Park Seo-joon will also make his MCU debut in The Marvels as an unknown character. Joon previously mentioned that he “couldn’t believe” how he was cast in the movie and that “everyone was so helpful and welcoming.”

The trailer showed the first look at the Korean actor’s Marvel character, with a brief snippet of footage showing him as someone who has long flowing hair and wearing a colorful and reflective outfit with shoulder pads.

Given that previous rumors claimed that the Korean actor is playing Prince Yan of Aldana, it looks like this scoop is true based on what the trailer showcased.

7.) Zenobia Shroff – Muneeba Khan

Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan, The Marvels
Marvel Studios

The Marvels trailer confirmed that Kamala Khan’s family from Jersey City will appear, which isn’t surprising due to Ms. Marvel‘s post-credits scene setting this film up.

Zenobia Shroff, who plays Kamala’s mother, is seen in the trailer asking Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers about the whereabouts of her daughter after accidentally switching places again.

This brief scene cements how caring Muneeba is for Kamala even if she is now a superhero.

8.) Daniel Ings – Ty-Rone

Daniel Ings
Daniel Ings

Disney officially confirmed that Daniel Ings is part of the massive ensemble of Captain Marvel 2 as a villainous character named Ty-Rone.

The character can be seen briefly in the trailer alongside Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn and it seems that he’s part of the Kree Empire.

9.) Mohan Kapur – Yusuf Khan

Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan, The Marvels
Marvel Studios

Mohan Kapur returns as Yusuf Khan in The Marvels. The character’s exact role is still being kept under wraps, but it’s possible that he may give another pep talk to his daughter, Kamala, to embrace the upcoming mission.

10.) Saagar Shaikh – Aamir Khan

Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan, Ms. Marvel
Marvel Studios

The last returning member of the Khan family is Saagar Shaikh’s Aamir Khan. The Ms. Marvel character could offer the needed support for Kamala as she continues to fulfill her superhero duties in space.

Captain Marvel 2’s Other Major Rumored Characters

After appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder, Tessa Thompson is rumored to return as King Valkyrie in The Marvels after an eagle-eyed fan noticed evidence of the character’s appearance in the sequel.

A Marvel fan discovered that Zenobia Shroff had unknowingly posted a set of headshots in a picture of her celebrating with the cast and crew of The Marvels, and one of them includes an image of Thompson as Valkyrie. It remains to be seen what her role would be, but there’s a chance that it could be a fun cameo at the tail-end of the movie.

Meanwhile, Lashana Lynch is another candidate to return since seeing her comeback in The Marvels would be fitting due to her important role as Maria Rambeau in the first film.

Although WandaVision confirmed Maria died during the five-year gap between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the character can easily return through flashbacks to reinforce the conflict between Monica and Carol in the movie.

In fact, an IMDb listing may have already confirmed Lynch’s role in the sequel after it was revealed that Thom Jones has joined the crew as the actress’ dialect coach.

The Marvels premieres in theaters on November 10.

When it comes to discussing superhero movies, Joe and Anthony Russo are frequently being asked when they will be returning to direct another movie for Marvel Studios. However, in a recent interview with Comicbook.com, the Avengers: Endgame directors were asked about potentially jumping on board James Gunn’s DCU plans and they would be more than open to directing the first movie for the newest iteration of Batman.

James Gunn and Peter Safran announced that their first wave of DCU movies will include The Brave and the Bold, and that will introduce another new star to the role of the Dark Knight. While there is currently no word on who this could be, there is also no director attached to the project, which could open a door for the Russos to step into another huge superhero arena. When asked about potentially joining the DC world, they said:

ANTHONY RUSSO: “We don’t get asked a lot about DC characters.”

JOE RUSSO: “Obviously James over there running it, it would be a no-brainer. We love him to death. We love the direction he’s going to take that world in. You know he’s gonna be inventive with it. And favorite DC characters? I mean, man. There are so many good ones. I always answer based on the comics I collected as a kid, and the two comics I collected the most were Spider-Man — actually, the three — were Spider-Man. X-Men and Batman. But there have been a lot of iterations of Batman, so I feel like that’s an obvious answer.”

ANTHONY RUSSO: “But, you know, it’s hard not to answer that. Here’s how you know we haven’t actually gotten literal about it and specific about it is because, yeah, Batman would be my favorite character for my entire childhood. But obviously, it’s been well explored.”

The Russo Brothers Could Still Return To The MCU

While there was a lot of talk about the Russo Brothers potentially directing Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars, that now seems to have become just a rumor based comments by the pair as to which MCU story they would like to direct if given the chance. After their work on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, two of the biggest movies of all-time, it would seem like a given that Kevin Feige would want the pair back behind the camera at some point the future.

However, Anthony and Joe Russo have, for the time being, moved onto other things, and one of those things is their new Prime Video series Citadel, a thriller about a group of agents who have their memories wiped following the fall of the global spy agency Citatel, who much try and recall their past in order to stop the powerful syndicate, Manticore. Additionally, the pair are working on a number of other series for Prime Video, as well as a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, and series’ based on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Warriors.

Mia Goth says that she views Ti West’s MaXXXine as a superhero movie, explaining how her character has grown since the first movie.

Production is underway on MaXXXine, the third film of Ti West’s X trilogy starring Mia Goth, and the actress told SFX Magazine that she views the new sequel as a “superhero movie.“

“I see MaXXXine as a superhero movie – that’s how I read the script,” Mia Goth said. “Maxine, as a character, has come a long way. She’s a survivor, she’s gone through a lot. When we meet her again, in this new world that she’s in, she’s really fought for everything that she has, and she’s not about to give that up. She’s going to fight for what she has. She’s a badass. There’s a strength to her. And she’s a really proactive, determined, focused woman. She goes after what she wants, and she’s not really going to take no for an answer.”

Mia Goth played the dual role of Maxine Minx/Pearl in Ti West’s X and reprised the role of Pearl for the prequel movie. West has even said that Goth should have received an Oscar nomination for her performance. The third movie will pick up with Maxine as she “continues her journey towards fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.” In addition to Mia Goth, MaXXXine boasts a cast which includes Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Moses Summney, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Speaking of superhero movies, it was recently announced that Mia Goth would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s set to star alongside Mahershala Ali in Blade for Marvel Studios. It’s not known who Goth will be playing in the movie, but rumours have been making the rounds (via Jeff Sneider of The Hit Mic podcast) that she will be playing Lilith Drake, Dracula’s daughter.

Yann Demange (White Boy Rick) is set to direct the Blade movie, with Michael Starrbury (When They See Us) penning the script. The character of Blade was originally created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan for The Tomb of Dracula #10 in 1973. Blade is a half-mortal, half-immortal who hunts vampires in order to avenge his mother, who was killed by a vampire as she gave birth to him. Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) was originally attached to direct Blade, but he wound up stepping down last year, leaving Marvel to push pause on pre-production while they searched for a replacement.

During a 2014 interview, the “Beef” star said that he forced a masseuse to perform oral sex on him. He later claimed it was a bad joke for “shock value.”

David Choe’s role in “Beef” has brought some unsavory comments made by the painter-turned-media personality back into the public eye. A resurfaced 2014 clip from Choe’s former podcast “DVDASA” — an acronym for Double Vag, Double Anal, Sensitive Artist — has attracted particular attention, as Choe can be heard joking about nonconsensual sexual encounters.

In the clip, Choe tells adult film star and podcast co-host Asa Akira that he once forced a masseuse to perform oral sex on him. Choe did not immediately respond to IndieWire’s request for comment.

“She’s not into it but she’s not stopping it either,” Choe said (via Vice). “I take the back of her head and push it down on my dick, and she doesn’t do it, and then I go ‘open your mouth’ and she does it, and then I start face fucking her.”

He continued: “With the rape stuff…I mean, I would have been in a lot of trouble right now if I put her hand on my dick and she’s like, ‘Fucking stop I’m gonna go call security.’ That would have been a much different story. But the thrill of possibly going to jail, that’s what achieved the erection quest.”

Choe, who made hundreds of millions of dollars in Facebook stock after painting murals for the tech giant, added at the time: “I just want to make it clear that I admit that that’s rapey behavior. But I am not a rapist.”

The subsequent bad publicity has prompted Choe to take aggressive measures to prevent the clip from being shared. Many social media users who have posted snippets of the interview over the past few days have claimed they have been sent notices that their tweets would be taken down due to copyright infringement.

Several users shared screenshots of the notice from Twitter which is credited to the non-profit David Young Choe Foundation. It was founded in 2015 and later renamed the Meleka Foundation. The foundation owns all of the podcast episodes and is exercising what it claims is its legal right to prevent unauthorized sharing via the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Writers Aurora Bogado and Meecham Whitson Meriweather both posted clips of the interview on their personal Twitter accounts on Thursday, but the videos were both removed on Sunday. Variety has reported that they both received emails Twitter claiming that Choe had filed Digital Millennium Copyright Act claims against them and demanded that the clips be removed immediately.

While it appears that Choe is actively moving to prevent the interview from circulating, he still maintains that his comments were humorous in nature and not descriptive of something he actually did.

Choe issued a statement in 2014 clarifying the podcast remarks, claiming that the story was fabricated for the podcast as a “complete extension of my art.”

“If I am guilty of anything, it’s bad storytelling in the style of douche. Just like many of my paintings are often misinterpreted, the same goes with my show,” Choe said. “The main objective of all of my podcasts is to challenge and provoke my friends and the co-stars on the show. We fuck with each other, entertain ourselves and laugh at each other.then  It’s a dark, tasteless, completely irreverent show where we fuck with everyone listening, but mostly ourselves. We create stories and tell tales. It’s not a news show. It’s not a representation of my reality. It’s not the place to come for reliable information about me or my life. It’s my version of reality, it’s art that sometimes offends people. I’m sorry if anyone believed that the stories were fact. They were not! In a world full of horrible people, thank god for us.”

He continued in a separate 2017 post, “I relayed a story simply for shock value that made it seem as if I had sexually violated a woman. Though I said those words, I did not commit those actions. It did not happen. I have ZERO history of sexual assault. I am deeply sorry for any hurt I’ve brought to anyone through my past words…I was a sick person at the height of my mental illness, and have spent the last 3 years in mental health facilities healing myself and dedicating my life to helping and healing others through love and action.”

Choe additionally told The New York Times in 2021 that his controversial story was a way to find rock bottom.

“At that time in my life, I was done with life and chasing a bottom. I wanted out,” Choe said. “I never raped anyone.”

Instead, the story was birthed from the “morbid curiosity to feel an external response to the internal shame I felt,” with Choe concluding, “It was strangely comforting to be so despised. It matched how I felt about myself for the first time.”

Meredith Shea has been named the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ first chief membership, impact and industry officer, Academy CEO Bill Kramer announced Monday. Shea will report directly to Kramer.

In this newly created position, Shea will be tasked with bringing together the Academy teams that lead the strategy and implementation for new member cultivation and outreach, awards administration, rules and regulations, membership branch structural changes, member and industry engagement, film festival and international strategies, talent development programs, and industry DEAI and sustainability efforts.

Shea most recently served as the director of industry relations at Array, Ava DuVernay’s social impact collective dedicated to narrative change, where she oversaw Array Crew, the personnel database designed to connect underrepresented below-the-line crew members with studios. Prior to that, though, she spent a decade at the Academy as a membership and awards executive, overseeing the directors, film editors, short films/feature animation and writers branches, including the administration of the rules, submissions and voting for the animated feature and international feature Oscar categories.

“We are thrilled to welcome Meredith back to the Academy in this leadership position,” Kramer said in a statement. “Her vast knowledge of the film industry and Academy membership, along with her commitment to building and nurturing a diverse and equitable global film community makes her a perfect professional for this new role. In addition, Meredith’s strategic acumen will help guide the Academy as we move towards our 100th year.”

Shea added, “I have a deep connection to the Academy and its membership. This is a pivotal time in the Academy’s history, and it’s both a joy and an enormous responsibility to support our industry and lead initiatives that connect people and communities through film. I am incredibly thankful to Bill, Janet, and the Academy board for their insightful leadership and dedication to making positive changes in the world for filmmakers, audiences, and the industry. I look forward to working again with the Academy’s exceptionally talented staff and dedicated members to support the Academy’s mission.”

Whether you believe it or not, multiple sources say Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are, indeed, dating.

According to one source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight, the pair are enjoying a “casual” romance. “They are keeping things casual at this point. It’s not serious, but Kylie is enjoying hanging out with Timothée and seeing where it goes,” the source said in a report published on April 17. “It’s been really fun for her because it feels a lot different than her past relationships. It’s new and exciting for Kylie and she’s having a lot of fun.”

This echoes a statement from a source that spoke with People about a week after the dating rumors first went viral on April 6. After Deux Moi broke our collective brains with their “new couple alert” and Kylie’s car was photographed in Chalamet’s driveway, a source told the publication that the 25-year-old reality star and the 27-year-old Academy Award nominee “are hanging out and getting to know each other.”

While many thought Kylothée was gearing up to hard-launch their alleged relationship during the first weekend of Coachella 2023—where Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner was seen getting “very cozy” with her rumored boyfriend Bad Bunny—the Entertainment Tonight source said the Kylie Cosmetics mogul thought better of it. “Kylie decided she didn’t want to make things public with Timothée this past weekend at Coachella,” the source said, adding that she “really just wanted to chill and have fun with her friends.”

Despite the popular theory that Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet first met in January at the Jean Paul Gaultier show at Paris Fashion Week, it’s possible they actually met through Kendall. “Timothée is also friends with Kendall,” the source told ET. “It’s been easy for Kylie to integrate him into her life.”

Jon Ryan Sugimoto tells a modern-day parable in his dramatic short film, Full Time. College graduation is over, and Michael (Andrew Lutheran) has his entire life before him. Flanked by his two friends, Michael’s first instinct is to go skateboarding in the park. But, as the trio reflects on their future, a man (Iddo Goldberg) approaches and asks them if anyone wants to earn some easy cash. Michael is quick to volunteer.

The man takes Michael to a square on the sidewalk. He just needs to stand in that square until 5:30 pm, and he’ll earn $50. That’s what he did. He just stood there and, at 5:30, got his $50. Seeing what a fine job he did, Michael is offered a full-time job to stand in that square.

The comparisons are clear as writer/director Sugimoto likens life in the box to the day-to-day tedium of the 9-to-5 job. As Michael stands in the box, he watches his life pass by and his friends leave him behind for some fun. Soon Michael gets promoted to a square with a better view.

“He just needs to stand in that square until 5:30 pm, and he’ll earn $50.”

As a movie, Full Time is fun to watch. It looks professional from the sound, music, and cinematography. Storey lets the cast tell the story well with what little dialogue they have. In addition, the ending has a hilarious button to end it all on.

As the old man in the room, when I think about the short, part of me wants to criticize the short for being too simplistic. I mean, if you want to live a full life, you need a job to pay for it. But, then again, that office job was going nowhere, and I ultimately had to leap out the window for sanity’s sake.

Full Time is a fantastic movie that goes beyond a straightforward narrative, giving you an aspect of life to chew on and think about long after it ends.

A new supportive housing building is set to open in Penticton, B.C., and organizers say the program is different than any other in the South Okanagan.

ASK Wellness Society and Oonakane Friendship Centre in partnership with BC Housing will soon open Snp̓aʔx̌tantn, also known as Healing House, at 3240 Skaha Lake Rd.

“All eyes are looking at Penticton here with the delivery of this. I think it is a really innovative and I believe will be a very effective successful model of supportive housing being offered in the community,” said ASK Wellness Society executive director Bob Hughes.

“That partnership is something that has not been done before and it’s been an incredibly insightful and appreciative experience for us to be working with an Indigenous organization to bring that cultural lens to the delivery of housing.”

BC Housing bought the Skaha Lake Road property back in 2020 with plans for a supportive housing building.

However, in 2021, city council turned down the request for a building permit, citing a need for a legal agreement between the city and BC Housing to make sure the site would be operated properly.

“The community of Penticton for a long period of time had been expressing concerns about the existing supportive housing. We have to thank the previous city council that really [stood] beside us with our proposal that we put forward to BC Housing, which was to see a complementary form of housing to the existing shelter and to low barrier supportive housing,” said Hughes.

“We needed something different; we needed some kind of housing that really was for those folks that wanted to invest in recovery, that wanted to live in an environment where substance use was not present. And we’ve been able to deliver that with this operating plan with the support from BC housing.”

Hughes went on to say that low-barrier housing has received a bad reputation over the years, but the organizations hope this new building will change the narrative.

“We’ve worked with the friendship centre, we’ve working with the RCMP as well and other stakeholders like Interior Health, to make sure that we really get this right,” he said.

“It’s also important to note we have spent time meeting with the neighbourhood, we’ve gone door to door and dropped off a fact sheet.”

The city and BC Housing later came to an agreement and the project was approved in November of 2021.

The non-profit organizations have been working since then with the city to bring this idea to life.

“This is a very, very good example of what we refer to as meaningful engagement, meaningful consultation. We were involved with a project right from the beginning. It was a collaborative process,” said Ooknakane Friendship Centre Executive Director Shauna Fox.

“The request for proposal came out. We worked on that together and throughout the whole process, have had a very strong voice at the table and making all the decisions that had to do with the build.”

The centre is recovery-focused supportive housing with 54 affordable and accessible units.

This concept is something that local advocates say the community of Penticton has been lacking.

“What we’ve seen is that we’ve really been missing that second stage type of housing environment that really supports people to maintain recovery,” Hughes continued saying, “And to really gain the skills to be able to be part of the community in the form of employment but also volunteerism.”

Snp̓aʔx̌tantn will also have a cultural component and a number of beds will be designated for Indigenous people.

“A minimum of 30 per cent of the beds will be designated for Indigenous people, urban Indigenous people of all nations, which is our mandate,” said Fox.

“Today we’re moving towards what we refer to as reconciliation. I was quite clear about how this project shows that the City of Penticton, because they are the ones that supported this, are also involved with that process of reconciliation. Meaning the consultation was there, the engagement and a true consultation process, meaningful and true.”

“We noted that there was a real absence of Indigenous organizations involved in the delivery of supportive housing,” Hughes added. “In fact, there was no organization in the entire Interior region.”

Construction is set to finish soon, and tenants are expected to move in as early as June.

Hughes added that this kind of housing couldn’t happen fast enough.

“We’ve seen this winter just the desperation of homelessness in the community. I think with inflation really hitting our communities both from the perspective of cost of living, but rents also ballooning.

“I think we just can’t fully grasp the scale of the affordable housing problem. We see the community of Penticton’s population is booming, we see the cost of living going up and we can only expect that there’s going to be even more of a problem when it comes to dealing with homelessness and housing.”

Hughes and Fox will be presenting a full summary of the program to council on Tuesday.

A new supportive housing building is set

MSNBC’s Joy Reid went after America’s gun culture in her monologue for Monday’s “The ReidOut,” punctuating her hard-to-argue-with points with an image from this month’s NRA convention in Indianapolis, in which a young boy is seen pointing a pistol directly at a camera.

“Americans buy millions of guns a month and keep buying more, feeding a booming industry that can’t market their bloody trade in other parts of the world where they have actual gun laws, so they pump all their resources into fostering American’s sick obsession, promoting not just guns but the reckless permission to use them — legally — on fellow Americans, with barely a second thought,” Reid said.

She then went for the vugular, mocking gun-loving right-wing conspiracy theorists by wielding one of their favorite refrains.

“Want to talk about grooming?” Reid asked, before pulling up a striking photo shot by Reuters of a 6-year-old pointing a firearm directly at the camera.

“This is a disturbing image, no doubt,” Reid added. “But perhaps more disturbing is how adults are coaching their kids to worship weapons of war,” Reid said.

As unsettling as the notion may be, it’s not a new development as the NRA merry-go-round continues unabated. Indeed, a search of Getty Images’ archive shows many similar photos dating to at least 2007 of children aiming guns at the NRA’s annual convention.

In the “Gun Culture” segment that kicked off with video of the “Moral Monday Rally” in Nashville to “protest the deadly gun culture in the U.S.,” Reid broke down recent developments that included another “weekend of bloodshed and a spate of mass shootings since the children of Nashville were buried.”

Monday’s headlines also included the news that an 84-year-old white man has been charged with two felonies after shooting a Black teenager who had gone to the man’s doorstep in Kansas City, Missouri, mistakenly, thinking his siblings were there to be picked up.

“This is the feeling of an accelerated gun culture and the carnage and death that comes with it,” Reid said. “The fear, the violence — they can feel unstoppable, even all-consuming at times. It isn’t just because of American’s indifference to gun violence. It’s far more than that. It feels like parts of this country are engaged in a celebration of gun violence, a veneration and devotion that has turned America into the most heavily armed civilian population in the word — a virtual shooting gallery.

“It’s an agenda shared by the NRA,” Reid said.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid went after America’s gun

[This story contains a major spoiler for Succession season four.]

Succession star Dagmara Domińczyk says that her own father died while she was filming the series’ major death scene, which made shooting it and eventually watching the scene even more emotional.

Domińczyk, who plays Karolina Novotney, head of public relations and legal team member for Waystar Royco on the HBO series, spoke to Rolling Stone about her character’s role in managing the crisis of Logan Roy’s sudden and shocking death on a plane. During the discussion, the actress revealed that while filming the scene — one of the last two days of filming the Emmy-winning series’ fourth season in New York — her father died in Poland at the age of 69.

“Two days before we shot our very last day of Succession in New York City, our very last day, two days before I showed up to set, my own father, who is, I would say, a gentler, kinder Logan Roy, in the fact that he’s been the biggest presence and force in my whole entire life for me and my sisters, this really one-of-a-kind human being, suddenly died at 69. And we found out through a phone call from a person we’d never met. He was in Poland at the time,” she recalled.

His death shared uncanny similarities to the one she had acted out on screen, with the actress adding that it made “a very strange season for me” having to film Logan’s funeral around the time of her father’s as she was miles apart from him in New Jersey.

“It just feels like the universe really — I don’t know the way it works, that the death of Succession and the death of Logan Roy coincided with the death of my fucking amazing, complicated father,” she said. “I was supposed to work the next day. And obviously the funeral — I’m not even sure if I’m supposed to tell you there is a funeral, but obviously, we’re assuming there is — we shot that a couple of days before my dad died, too.”

When it came to the plane sequence, it was already “emotional,” and saw fellow Succession actors Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong calling in on speakerphone as her side of the sequence was filmed. “They would call in every take we did. We were on the stage plane, very intimate, [with] their voices and every time they called in, you know, it was so moving and so fucking weird,” she recounted. It also involved director Mark Mylod having to remind her — before her father died — that while her performance choices to cry were “beautiful,” they weren’t necessarily in character.

“I’m a very emotional person. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I had a hard time not crying on that airplane. This was before my dad died, we shot the episode on the plane,” she explained. “And Mark Mylod would come up and say, ‘Dag, what you’re doing is really beautiful. But Karolina would not [cry.] She’s the voice of reason here. There’s things to do. This is a giant public figure. Please don’t cry.’”

Domińczyk added that beyond the initial experience of having to handle her father’s death around filming an already emotional storyline in the show, she also had to manage her grief again following the episode’s completion and airing. The Succession actor said that though it may “sound kooky,” in some ways it almost became therapeutic to see how her character, Karolina, handled Logan’s passing on the plane when she got an early look while watching it “alone at night with my dog on my husband’s recliner.”

“My dad died two months ago, but in terms of sudden, traumatic loss, it could have happened two days ago. That’s how I fucking feel. And I started watching the episode, and this vein started throbbing in my head. I thought I was gonna have an aneurysm,” she continued, discussing her physical reaction to screening the episode. “And of course, I cried and cried and I thought it was brilliant. The episode was so good and so tense and so amazingly orchestrated and put together, that for a moment, I was able to take myself out of my own grief and just be in the story.”

While it provided momentary relief, Domińczyk notes that it was all still “really, really, really difficult,” with those around her sending her messages of condolences as the parallels of what was happening became clearer to them. Among that group was her husband, fellow actor Patrick Wilson, as well as friends who texted about how “bizarre” it all was. Especially as someone who had “always been worried that he would die suddenly, or die with us not around, and that’s exactly what happened.”

“For reasons I can’t quite say, since I was a very little girl, I was worried my dad would suddenly die. And it happened. And so it’s just been really crazy,” she said. “But there was Karolina, no-nonsense on that plane, knowing with all his health issues and Logan’s troubles and hospital stays that this day would come, and she’s got her fancy pen and her pad ready to go.”

It was an experience the actress suddenly was quite familiar with, and so one Domińczyk says with confidence the show captured.

“With these dramatic, sudden, violent kind of deaths, the initial few days, there’s this kind of shock. You don’t believe it. And I think Succession really captured that,” she told the magazine. “You don’t see them fully break down, and of course, my reaction in real life was like a wounded fucking animal, because it was hearing something that you expected to hear your whole life, but it hasn’t happened yet, so it’s just not going to happen. And it did happen. And so, as we get into the season, that grief is going to catch up with them.”

[This story contains a major spoiler for Succession season

Beau may be afraid but Ari Aster certainly isn’t.

Of the many words used to describe the writer-director’s previous two films — “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” — timidity was never of them. This is a filmmaker who has sent Toni Collette skittering across the ceiling and intricately arranged mutilated bodies the way some people make bouquets.

But if any doubts remained about just how far Aster is willing to go, “Beau Is Afraid” should pacify them. Not because of the degree of terror within it; by Aster’s high standards, “Beau Is Afraid“ is notably less ghastly than his first two outings. But it’s even more audaciously grotesque, more self-evidently pulled from its director’s psyche, more a work of a filmmaker’s unfiltered, runaway imagination.

Rather than slotting in as a “horror” film, it can be categorized a little less neatly as a surreal three-hour Homeric odyssey about Jewish guilt, Oedipal angst and somebody named “Birthday Boy Stab Man.” And this, remember, constitutes a sunnier register for Aster.

What has made Aster such a potent filmmaker, I think, is the lack of relief he offers audiences. His movies are nightmares without any possibility of waking. And just as much as one might spend “Midsommar” looking for an escapeway, the urge to open a window for just one breath of fresh air in “Beau Is Afraid” is considerable.

That’s both a compliment and a complaint for Aster’s film, a rigorously wearisome experience propelled by a monstrous current of anxiety and dread. Aster’s cinema is that of a bad trip: a surreal and comic journey through dark corners of consciousness, vividly rendered in caricature and detail. (“Midsommar,“ if you remember, began with mind-altering mushrooms.) It’s not an easy ride to recommend taking. But, just the same, there’s never any doubt that you are, most definitely, traveling somewhere else.

“Beau Is Afraid,” which A24 releases in theaters nationwide Friday, opens not with psychedelics but the pangs of child birth. After some muffled screams and flashes of light, we, as Beau, emerge directly out of the womb. His mother Mona (played at different times by Zoe Lister-Jones and Patti LuPone) screams because her baby is oddly silent. Flashing forward several decades, the grown but still whimpering Beau Wassermann (Joaquin Phoenix) is sitting with his therapist (Stephen McKinley Henderson, a boon to any movie). It doesn’t take long for his mother to come up in their session. “Do you ever wish she was dead?” the therapist asks. Beau, protesting a little too much, quickly shouts “No!“

Back near his New York apartment, the city streets are are an over-the-top hellscape, draped in garbage and graffiti, with mean-looking faces everywhere, including that loose maniac, Birthday Boy Stab Man, along with roaming hordes of vandals. We’re less in the real world than some bonkers, not-funhouse-mirrors manifestation of Beau’s fears. His anxiety might called cripplingly extreme if it didn’t appear to be well-founded by the state of things around him.

Beau is to travel the next day to visit his mother. But after a neighbor harasses him through the night and his apartment keys and bag are stolen, Beau calls to tell his mother that he’s missed his plane, news she coldly receives as confirmation that her son never loved her. Things are already antic and unhinged but they then turn cartoonishly apocalyptic. Beau’s apartment is broken into and taken over, and his spiraling desperation is amplified into crushing remorse when he’s called and told that his mother has been killed, her head severed by a fallen chandelier.

After Beau, by now completely crazed and stripped of nearly everything he owns, is struck by a truck, Aster’s film proceeds as a nightmarish quest to reach his mother’s house before the funeral service. Clearly defined sections make up the odyssey, each of which offer some disturbing alternative to family life, with a few flashbacks mixed in. First is a period of distressing convalesce with the seemingly stable suburban couple who ran him over (Amy Ryan, Nathan Lane); then a magical section in a forest where Beau encounters a traveling theater group and is transported into their stage play; and finally his late, bedraggled arrival home.

Much of all this is far more extended than it perhaps ought to be. But it’s also crammed full with subtle gags in a meticulous and twisted tapestry of psychological torture. The way Beau keeps dropping through trap doors of narrative in a metaphorical movie realm will remind some of Charlie Kaufman or maybe a particularly grim version of “Alice in Wonderland.” But “Beau Is Afraid’ is eminently unique to Aster, who fills his frames with sly jokes. Beau’s recent phone calls, for just one example, are only his mother, his therapist and Moviefone. Who needs anything else?

But whether there’s enough here to sustain this nakedly ambitious three-hour roller coaster is harder to say. There are scenes, shot by cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski, that I don’t expect to forget. The animated interlude in the forest, with the help of Chilean artists Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña, is a magically dark fable within a fable. Nathan Lane, while otherwise entrapping Beau, peppering every line with “Old buddy” and “My dude” is one of the funnier things I’ve seen lately. And in the film’s final chapter, Patti LuPone steps forward magnificently with such gothic menace that she makes Collette’s mother of “Hereditary” look like a peach.

All of this, though, is a lot of movie to hang on mommy issues. “Beau Is Afraid” takes a long road — and one with a lot of yelling and sniveling along the way — to not get very far. That could, of course, be the point. But the simpering sad sack Beau — despite Phoenix’s typically committed and sympathetic performance — remains curiously void, stuck in a one-note nightmare.

Aster, whose first film also dug into the frightful side of what we inherit, is clearly and intensely channeling something deep within. And as captivating as it can be to see a filmmaker out on the ledge like this this, the sense that characters are being moved around like pawns in an elaborate design — an aspect of Aster’s previous films, too — never quite dissipates. The one exception: Parker Posey. She walks into the movie late, as a long-ago encounter of Beau’s, and instantly changes the movie’s chemistry. She’s the one breath of fresh air in “Beau Is Afraid,“ but, boy, does Aster snuff it out quick.

“Beau Is Afraid,” an A24 release is rated R by the Motion Picture Association for strong violent content, sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language. Running time: 179 minutes. Two and a half stars out of four.

Beau may be afraid but Ari Aster

“Live With Kelly and Mark,” starring married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, premiered Monday, and “All My Children” fans are living to see Hayley and Mateo co-hosting the long-running morning show.

Ripa has been co-hosting “Live” for nearly as long as she’s been married to her (former) on-screen and off-screen honey: The two starred in “All My Children” in the ‘90s and early aughts as Hayley Vaughn and Mateo Santos.

They met on set in 1995, eloped in Las Vegas in 1996 and raised three children into adulthood. Now, they’re embarking on a new chapter together as “Live” co-hosts.

On the couple’s first episode, psychic Char Margolis, who 20 years ago predicted Ripa’s pregnancy with her daughter on-air, gave Consuelos a reading. This time, she predicted nothing but good things for show’s future.

“Honestly, I think that the show’s going to do better than ever,” Margolis said during her appearance. “And I’ll tell you why: The world’s having some big problems and people need a place to escape, and this show is based in love, and there’s nothing more important than family and friends.”

Ripa jokingly asked, “Now that we know the show will survive and is going to be great, what about our marriage?” The clairvoyant assured the couple she felt good about that too.

Ripa joined “Live” in 2001 following Kathy Lee Gifford‘s departure the year prior. She was paired up with Regis Philbin until his exit in 2011. Philbin, who died in 2020, was replaced by Michael Strahan, who co-hosted alongside Ripa from 2012 to 2016 before passing the mug to host-with-the-most Ryan Seacrest. Seacrest co-hosted “Live With Kelly and Ryan” for six years before making his exit last Friday.

The launch of “Live With Kelly and Mark” featured montages of the pair over the last few decades, plus Consuelos’ numerous guest appearances. “Thank you for joining us,” Ripa said after the memory-lane footage played. “It’s as if you’ve always been here.”

“All My Children” fans were flooding the comments section on Facebook as clips from the show were shared.

Marcia Mullins commented, “Wonderful show this morning. Meant to be. ‘Hailey and Mateo forever’”

Sherry-Richie Word chimed in: “Mark and Kelly are my favorite couple. I’ve loved them both ever since they were on All My Children.”

“This feels so full circle and I love it,” said Heather Michelle.

And Beth Ann Gump commented, “Oh I loved the show today I just so wanted to email you Kelly and tell you how beautiful you are! The show took me back when I watched Haley and Mateo ! I recently told my husband I thought Mark should be your cohost! I laughed, I cried and I look so forward to the show from now until forever!”

“Live With Kelly and Mark,” starring

MCU Nebula actor Karen Gillan highlighted a new power upgrade for her character in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The third installment in the Guardians franchise promises developments for many of the fan-favorite characters, with one featured in various pieces of promotion being Nebula’s upgraded arm.

While a robotic arm may seem, Nebula’s bionic body parts are key components of her backstory, as her body was altered by her father, Thanos, any time she lost a fight to her sister, Gamora.

As such, an update to these bionics could symbolize an emotional shift away from the abuse in her past — a character evolution Gillan herself has discussed. Rumors even indicate that the sisterly relationship, which, again, is what led to the robotic replacements across Nebula’s body in the first place, might be at the heart of the upcoming film.

Even More Power to Nebula’s Upgraded Arm

Nebula’s already-upgraded arm in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was just revealed to be even more powerful than first meets the eye, with its newly featured ability to turn into a blaster.

Marvel Studios

While footage of Nebula’s upgraded arm had already been revealed in stills and the first trailer for Guardians 3, new footage promoting the movie offers a glimpse at the arm’s additional capabilities.

Nebula in blurry footage from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, using her left robotic arm as a blaster.
Marvel Studios

At the 12-second mark of the new footage, Nebula is seen shooting a glowing, yellow-ish energy burst from a circular hole in her arm — which now appears like a powerful blaster weapon.

The blaster maintains the tendril-covered, chain-like appearance of the upgraded arm fans previously saw, but adds a fiery orange glow to the design.

Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula in the MCU, retweeted a video of this blast from the footage from @brkarengillan, commenting “New arm who dis? #nebula.”

A Symbolic Power Upgrade for Nebula

As previously mentioned, Nebula’s robotic body parts play a symbolic role in the hero’s backstory, being a physical representation of the abuse she went through as the daughter of Thanos.

Given the apparent focus on Rocket Raccoon‘s backstory, which seems to heavily involve non-consensual body modification, if the trailers are anything to go by, the impact of such body modification could be a focus of Guardians 3.

With the film developing several backstories and appearing to delve into the trauma behind the fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy, it would make sense to include a discussion of Nebula’s storied past, and how that impacts who she is today.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters on Friday. May 5.

This is the way, Star Wars fans.

Google is calling on recruits to help repopulate coral reefs. Its new project, a collaboration with marine biologist Steve Simpson and marine ecologist Mary Shodipo, wants your help training AI to recognize aquatic wildlife sounds in hopes of replenishing them and raising awareness of the ocean’s troubled habitats.

The Earth’s coral reefs have been declining at a concerning pace thanks to climate change, overfishing and pollution. Higher water temperatures from our rapidly changing atmosphere can cause coral to release symbiotic algae that make the coral more prone to disease and death. Additionally, rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere can acidify the ocean, further damaging the reefs.

The new Google Arts & Culture experiment has a simple ask: Take a few minutes to discern between the high-pitched snaps, crackles and pops of feeding shrimp and the lower-pitched gurgles, groans and croaks of fish, and then use your newfound knowledge to contribute to an AI model that will help conservation efforts. You’ll open a browser window, listen (preferably using headphones) to underwater recordings made with an underwater mic and tap an onscreen button when you believe you hear fish. If enough people contribute, the data should help automate the process.

“Coral reefs are surprisingly noisy places, but where they are damaged or overfished, they become quieter due to the lack of marine life,” said Simpson. “In some locations, our research involves placing sound recorders inside marine protected areas (where there is no fishing) and in nearby fished areas for comparison, to listen in on the benefits of protection. In other locations, we are comparing sites that have declined due to overfishing and poor water quality with those where we are actively restoring coral reefs by replanting corals and rebuilding habitats.”

“There are too many recordings for one person to sit down and listen to — and that’s where you come in,” explained Simpson. “We need your help, and the help of others like you, to form a listening collective. Your data will then be used to train computers to listen for fish sounds automatically.” The team’s recordings were made at 10 reefs from countries including Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, the US, Panama and Sweden.

Calling in our Corals / Google

In addition to improving their ability to monitor marine wildlife activity, the researchers believe the project can help restore them. “New research has found that when played back using underwater speakers in damaged habitats, these sounds can even be used to call in new recruits — which is why our project and the accompanying online platform is called ‘Calling in our Corals,’” Simpson said. In other words, playing back the sounds of healthy reefs could attract new fish and other underwater species to conserved reefs or those that have fallen on hard times thanks to the ravaging ecological effects of human industry.

Contributing only takes a few minutes. Although I wouldn’t describe it as peak entertainment, it’s at least as enjoyable as time-wasting browser games that don’t contribute to real-world endeavors. The project’s creators stress that even sitting down for one three-minute session will help their efforts. And the more time you spend (or tell others about the project), the more you pitch into a good cause.

Although I find it surprising they can’t train the AI models on sound waves alone without the crowdsourcing part, inviting the general public to contribute should help raise awareness of a crucial — often ignored — aspect of the changing planet. As much as Google has transformed from its leaner early years, projects like this still remind me of the company’s more idealistic roots from the “Don’t Be Evil” era.

Vertical video support, new models, and another BMD camera gets the Netflix stamp of approval.

With NAB 2023 now kicked off and well on its way, some of the biggest brands in the film and video game continue to slowly roll out major updates and cool new features for their cameras and products.

From the Blackmagic booth, we’re hearing some exciting new updates about AI-powered features being added to DaVinci Resolve and plenty of news regarding some of the brand’s most famous camera lines.

Let’s take a look at some of the updates coming to Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras, a new URSA Mini Pro 12K OLPF, and the exciting announcement of one of yet another camera being added to Netflix’s exclusive approved camera list.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Goes Vertical

You (maybe) asked for it, and now BMD has delivered a new update that adds support for vertical aspect ratio video to all Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras! All joking aside, whether you actively shoot vertically or not, the need is absolutely there for content creators and video pros to take on vertical gigs more often.

Now you can easily create cinematic content for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and anything else your heart may vertically desire. Simply rotate your BMPCC to shoot vertical aspect ratios such as 9:16 and 4:5 and the on-screen HUD will rotate all of your critical info like frame rate, shutter angle, and even frame guides to help you from any angle.

Plus, when you import your files into DaVinci Resolve your clips will automatically be tagged as vertical so they’ll appear correct on your timeline. So once you finish your vertical projects, uploading directly to your channel with direct exporting to TikTok or YouTube will be easy.

You can read more about Blackmagic Camera 8.1 here.

The URSA Mini Pro 12K Added to Netflix Approved Camera List

Finally, the most exciting news for any current Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K owners or users, one of BMD’s flagship cinema cameras has recently been added to the Netflix Approved Camera List. Officially titled Cameras and Image Capture: Requirements and Best Practices, the list includes all of the capture requirements necessary to be qualified as an approved camera by the famous streamer, including dynamic range, resolution, codec, workflow compatibility, and more.

This means if you’re looking to film something for Netflix or simply rest assured that your favorite cinema camera is at least on par with any of the rest on the list, this accreditation is another accolade for one of the most prestigious cameras in BMD’s lineup.

Let’s us know what you think of these updates in the comments below!

The Love Is Blind successful couples are an exclusive bunch. Netflix’s kooky, addictive reality show is many things—a social experiment, a dating show, a highly engineered drama factory—but it does actually lead to lasting relationships for some.

Whether you believe that love is blind or not, there’s no doubt that this twist on The Dating Game is hard to stop watching. We love shows like Love Is Blind for a reason. (The hit series just wrapped its fourth season.) For the unfamiliar, single men and women talk to each other from isolation pods without seeing each other until they agree to get engaged, at which point they can actually start dating and meet each other’s families. But anyone who knows the stress of wedding planning can guess what happens from there: fighting, tears, and breakups. So much goes on that sometimes whole other proposals happen we don’t even see onscreen.

Despite the many love triangles and surprises, and the downright bizarre nature of the show, some people do form genuine connections, and the Love Is Blind successful couples may just stand the test of time.

Lauren Speed, a former contestant (player? participant?), had this piece of advice for Love Is Blind couples: “When it was time for me to decide if I wanted to get married on #loveisBlind I struggled. I wanted to really make sure I got married because I could see forever with Cam. Not from production pressures or wanting fame. I wasn’t about to get legally married just for television. Because once those cameras leave and it’s just you and that person living and creating a life together…fame can’t save you. And who wants to be trapped in an empty marriage that’s hell! I really think this worked for us because it was genuinely 2 people not only finding love…But really falling IN LOVE with each other in the most unexpected way! Wishing the best for everyone in #loveisblind2 whether you decided to marry or stay single I hope that it brings you all closer to the happiness you all deserve! Without settling in any way.” Her marriage seems to be going just fine, so maybe it works!

If you think you might find your One True Love in Netflix’s pods, be sure you know the stats before you call up Love Is Blind casting. Because while most of the pairings don’t make it to their honeymoon, you can never say never. Love Is Blind season 4 was a wild ride, and we can only imagine that Love Is Blind season 5 will be even more of a roller coaster.

Here’s where the Love Is Blind successful couples (so, anyone who got engaged onscreen) are now. Consider this your Love Is Blind After the Altar…after that.

It’s not difficult to share a password for Netflix or Spotify with a friend or leave yourself signed in at someone else’s house or in a hotel room, which means, after several years, there could be a host of people sharing your streaming services that you’ve completely forgotten about.

Whether it’s an ex-partner, a niece or nephew, a college roommate from back in the day, or whoever else, you don’t necessarily want your accounts being used by a whole cast of characters. It can lead to restrictions on your account, and it’s not great from a digital security perspective either.

Thankfully, you can check who’s logged in to your accounts relatively quickly and boot them out if needed. We’ll cover some of the most popular services here and will offer the steps to follow both on the web and (if available) on your mobile device. If we don’t mention one that you’re using, you should be able to find a similar feature somewhere in the settings.

Netflix

Netflix page headed “Manage Access and Devices” and showing in two boxes the status of an Android Phone and a Netflix Chrome MAC (Cadmium) HTML 5, with Sign Out buttons next to each.
Netflix lets you view and sign out of any active devices.

On the web:

  • Log in to your account, hover the cursor over your profile avatar (top right), then pick Account.
  • In the Security & Privacy section, click on Manage access and devices. You’ll see a list of devices recently logged in to your Netflix account, together with the profile of the person who was streaming video.
  • Click Sign out on any of the entries in the list to do just that: you’ll be remotely signed out of the selected device, and your password will be required to log in again.
  • In the previous screen, just below Manage access and devices, you can also click Sign out of all devices to log out of every Netflix session on every device (including the one you’re currently using).

The process is similar if you’re in the Netflix mobile app:

  • Tap your profile avatar (top right).
  • Go to Account and either Manage access and devices or Sign out of all devices, depending on how much detail you want to go into.

Disney Plus

Account page for Disney Plus.
Disney Plus lets you log out of all of your devices at once.

On the web:

  • Log in to Disney Plus, hover the cursor over your profile avatar (top right), and choose Account.
  • You don’t get the same level of detail as you do with Netflix when it comes to seeing where you’re logged in, but you can click Log out of all devices to cancel every session, including the current one.

The same option is accessible from the mobile apps as well:

  • Tap your profile avatar (bottom right).
  • Choose Account > Log out of all devices.

If anyone else is using your account somewhere else, they’ll be sent back to the login screen.

Hulu

Manage Your Devices shows a list of all the devices your account is currently logged in to.

On the web:

  • Head to Hulu, hover the cursor over your profile name (top right), then choose Account > Manage devices.
  • The next screen shows a list of all the devices that your Hulu account is currently logged in to, together with the date when they were added (which helps you quickly identify the out-of-date and dormant ones).
  • Click Remove next to any device in the list to log out of it remotely.

Currently, you can’t access this setting through the Hulu mobile apps — you have to log in on the web to manage your devices.

Amazon Prime Video

A list of devices under the heading Your Registered Devices.
Prime Video shows you a list of all the devices you’re logged in to.

On the web:

  • Open up Prime Video, then hover the cursor over your profile name (to the right of the lowest toolbar).
  • Pick Account & Settings and open the Your devices tab to see all the devices you’re currently logged in on and the date when you first logged in to that particular device. Be aware that if you’re not the primary owner of the account (in other words, if you’re on the account of someone else in your family), you’ll only see your devices and not all the devices logged in on the account.
  • To remove a device from the list, click the Deregister button on the right. The list then refreshes with the device removed.

You can get to the same screen in the mobile app, too:

  • Tap your profile avatar (top right), then the cog icon (top right).
  • Select Registered devices.

Max

Page with HBO Max on top, the word Devices below that, and a list of devices below that.
The Devices page has a list of all devices that HBO Max was recently logged in to.

On the web:

  • If you’re an HBO Max (soon to be Max) subscriber, log in, click your profile avatar (top right), then choose Settings.
  • Scroll down to the Devices section. You’ll see a list of all the devices the account was recently logged in to, together with when these devices were last used.
  • Click on Manage Devices and then select the X next to any device on the list to sign out of that device, or select Sign all devices out to log out everywhere, including on the device you’re currently using.

You can get at the same screen in the mobile apps, too:

  • Tap your profile icon (top right), then the cog icon (top right).
  • Select Devices. This will lead you to the list of devices; again, you can either use the X to sign out or sign out of all of them.

Spotify

Spotify page with Manage Apps on top, a menu on the left side, and a list of apps down the center with a green Remove Access button next to each.
You’ve probably logged in to Spotify on more devices and apps than you think.

On the web:

  • Open up Spotify, click your account name (top right), then choose Account.
  • On the next screen, open the Account overview page, and you’ll see a Sign out everywhere button. This logs you out on phones and tablets and from the Spotify apps on the web and on desktop.
  • This button doesn’t cover smart speakers, consoles, and TVs, though. For that, look at the left-hand menu and select Apps. You’ll see all the different apps for various devices listed. Select Remove Access next to any app and device you want to disconnect from your Spotify account.

Currently, there’s no way to get to these options through the mobile apps, so you’ll have to take care of device management in a web browser.

YouTube TV, YouTube, and YouTube Music

Google account page with search box in top center, menu on left side, list headed Your devices in center, and list headed Third-party apps with account accent on right.
All your device management features run through your main Google account.

For Google’s streaming services, all the device management features run through your main Google account rather than the individual apps.

On the web:

  • Head to your Google account page, then click Security.
  • Look for the Your Devices subhead, where you’ll see all the devices you’re currently signed in on. Click on Manage all devices.
  • All Google apps are bundled together here. To sign out of a device, select it and choose Sign out. You’ll be logged out of everything to do with Google on that device, from Google Maps to YouTube. (Note that you will not be able to log out of the device you’re currently using.)

It’s easier to manage all of this on the web, but you can get to it on mobile, too.

  • In the Google app for Android or iOS, tap your profile avatar (top right), then Manage your Google Account.
  • Look for Security in the top menu (swipe left if you don’t see it), and then find the Your devices section in order to access Manage all devices.

Apple TV Plus and Apple Music

Apple ID in upper left corner, BarbK MacBook heading off left-hand column, title Devices with three boxes below it for a Macbook, an iPhone and an iPad.
Your Apple ID account applies to everything associated with it, including all of your devices.

As with Google, the Apple streaming services are a little bit different. Your Apple ID account applies to everything associated with the device you’re on. That main login on your iPhone or Mac (or whatever it is) dictates the services and apps you have access to.

On the web:

  • Log in to your Apple ID page, then look for Devices in the left-hand column to see all of the devices associated with your account.
  • Tap on any entry in the list then pick Remove from Account to revoke its access.

On a macOS device:

  • Open the Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences) and click on your name or on Apple ID.
  • Look for your device in the left-hand column, and select Remove from Account.

You can get at this list of devices from iPhones and iPads, too:

  • Open Settings and then tap on your name at the top.
  • Look for the device list at the bottom. Select the one you want to remove, and then tap on Remove from Account.

The Array alum, who also spent a decade at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a membership and awards exec, has been set as its Chief Membership, Impact and Industry Officer, a newly created post.

Reporting directly to Academy CEO Bill Kramer, she is tasked with bringing together the Academy teams who lead the strategy and implementation for the Academy’s new-member cultivation and outreach, awards administration, rules and regulations, membership branch structural changes, member and industry engagement, film festival and international strategies, talent development programs, and industry DEAI and sustainability efforts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Meredith back to the Academy in this leadership position,” Kramer said in a statement. “Her vast knowledge of the film industry and Academy membership, along with her commitment to building and nurturing a diverse and equitable global film community, makes her a perfect professional for this new role.”

Shea recently served as the Director of Industry Relations at Array, the social impact collective founded by Ava DuVernay that is dedicated to narrative change. There, she oversaw Array Crew, the personnel database designed to connect underrepresented below-the-line crew members with studios. Before that, Shea spent a decade at AMPAS, overseeing its Directors, Film Editors, Short Films & Feature Animation and Writers branches, including the administration of the rules, submissions and voting for the Animated Feature and International Feature Film Oscar categories.

“I have a deep connection to the Academy and its membership,” Shea said in a statement. “This is a pivotal time in the Academy’s history, and it’s both a joy and an enormous responsibility to support our industry and lead initiatives that connect people and communities through film. I am incredibly thankful to Bill, Janet, and the Academy board for their insightful leadership and dedication to making positive changes in the world for filmmakers, audiences, and the industry.” I look forward to working again with the Academy’s exceptionally talented staff and dedicated members to support the Academy’s mission,” Shea said in a statement. ”

Frank Ocean suffered a serious ankle injury at on-site rehearsals in the week leading up to his headlining set at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Pitchfork has learned. According to a source familiar with the situation, doctors advised Ocean take pressure off his ankle by changing his production for the show. A visible catwalk and circular stage at the end, rumored to have been an ice skating rink, were not used. Instead, Ocean sat on a stool while singing and periodically walked over to his backing band.

This injury was one of many apparent problems during Ocean’s headlining set this past Sunday night. Mere hours before his scheduled set time, YouTube revealed it would not be livestreamed as promised. When the reclusive Blonde singer did arrive onstage, it was nearly an hour late. Ocean also ended his set abruptly around 12:20 a.m. PST, citing the festival’s curfew. Coachella’s curfew is 1:00 a.m. PST on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:00 a.m. PST on Sundays.

During his headlining set this past Sunday night, Ocean performed alternate versions of songs from his catalog, including stripped-back renditions of “Novacane,” “Crack Rock,” “Pink + White,” and “Bad Religion,” as well as a modular-synth rework of “White Ferrari.” He also sang a handful of deep cuts, including “Come on World, You Can’t Go!” and a punk version of “Wiseman,” and covered Willie Nelson’s “Night Life” and Isley Brothers’ “(At Your Best) You Are Love,” the latter of which is featured on Endless. He was briefly joined onstage by dancers wearing custom Prada.

When addressing the crowd, Ocean did hint that a new album was in the works and paid tribute to Ryan Breaux, his younger brother who died in 2020. “I know he would’ve been so excited to be here with all of us. I wanted to say thank you for the support and the ears and the love for all this time,” said Ocean. He also strayed from the microphone during a few moments, revealing that he was singing with—or, at times, not singing along to—pre-recorded vocals for some songs.

According to Dawn Storey’s comedy/horror short, Dooley Does Murder!, “NECKrophilia” is an unhealthy obsession or fetish with the necks of others and the fiendish focus of our protagonist. Storey’s tale is about an assuming man Dooley, a handsome but queer perfume salesman, who finds himself at the end of his rope. No one is buying what he is selling, and all the morning affirmations he meditates on are of no use.

When Dooley tries to pay half his rent to his landlord Doris (Allana Barton), she insists on getting the total amount and then shows Dooley a folder full of neck photos and threatens to expose his fetish. Dooley has no choice, but the bash in Doris’ head, which sets off a chain of murderous activities.

“Dooley has no choice, but the bash in Doris’ head, which sets off a chain of murderous activities.”

Dooley Does Murder! is a nice, tidy character study of a conflicted man who turns to murder. As Dooley, writer/director/star Dawn Storey creates a man with all the confidence in the world but is slapped in the face with reality and the realization that the rest of the world sees an entirely different…and somewhat pathetic person. And snap! A killer is born.

Running at ten minutes, the story of Dooley Does Murder! is essentially the birth of a serial killer ending just at the start of his killing spree. Based on this short, Dooley Does Murder! has the potential to expand to feature length but really needs to delve deep into the psyche of Dooley and find the right Antagonist to foil his plans.

(AKRON, Ohio) — An Ohio grand jury declined to indict eight police officers who fired 94 shots in the death last year of Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man who fired at least one round at officers during a car and foot chase, the state’s attorney general announced Monday.

Walker was shot 40 times in a hail of gunfire that lasted just under seven seconds after he jumped out of his still-moving car and ran from police, said Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

Walker ignored commands to stop running and show his hands and then reached for his waistband and raised his hand as officers were chasing, Yost said. Some of the officers first used Tasers before firing their guns, he said.

But the officers, not knowing Walker left his gun in the car, believed he was going to fire again at them, Yost said. Yost said it is critical to remember that Walker had fired at police, and that he “shot first.”

Walker’s death last June sparked protests in Akron and the city’s mayor and police chief urged residents to react peacefully, acknowledging that tensions are high.

“Turn toward one other and not on each other,” said Mayor Daniel Horrigan.

Activists, including from the family of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, have spoke out about Walker’s death. The NAACP and an attorney for Walker’s family called on the Justice Department to open a federal civil rights investigation. The DOJ responded by saying it was monitoring the case.

The state investigation found that police first saw Walker driving with a broken taillight and a broken light on his rear license plate, but they decided not to follow him. They saw him 10 minutes later at the same intersection and decided to pursue him for the equipment violation, Yost said.

Police said Walker refused to stop and then fired a shot from his car 40 seconds into the pursuit.

Officers chased the car on a freeway and city streets until Walker bailed from the still-moving vehicle and ran into a parking lot where he was killed while wearing a ski mask, body cam video showed. Authorities said he represented a “deadly threat.” A handgun, a loaded magazine and a wedding ring were found on the driver’s seat of his car.

Dash-cam video from a police cruiser captured images of Walker firing the gun from his car, said Anthony Pierson, an assistant state attorney general. Walker had no criminal history and had never fired a gun until he went to a shooting range with a friend in early June, Pierson said.

Walker’s family called it a brutal and senseless shooting of a man who was unarmed at the time and whose fiancee recently died. Police union officials said the officers thought there was an immediate threat of serious harm and that their actions were in line with their training and protocols.

Walker had been grieving his fiancée’s recent death but his family had no indication of concern beyond that, a family representative previously said.

Pierson wouldn’t speculate about Walker’s state of mind that night and said there was no direct evidence that he was suicidal.

“That night he encountered the police he wasn’t acting himself,” Pierson said. “By all accounts he was a good person, a good man.”

Blurry body camera footage released last summer did not clearly show what authorities say was a threatening gesture Walker made before he was shot.

Akron Police Chief Steve Mylett said Monday that the city will begin an internal investigation into the shooting, but he would not release the names of the eight officers because of ongoing threats against them.

The officers, who initially were placed on leave, will remain on administrative duties. None of the eight officers appear to have been disciplined for any previous use of force incidences, according to investigation records released by the state

While the grand jury’s decision shows no crime was committed by the officers, “in no way does that take away from the tragedy of June 27,” Mylett said.

Attorneys for the eight officers released a statement calling the incident a tragedy for the entire community, including Walker’s family and all of the officers who were involved. “A split-second decision to use lethal force is one that every police officer hopes he or she will never be forced to make,” the statement said.

A county medical officer said t he autopsy found no illegal drugs or alcohol were detected in Walker’s body.

After taking over the investigation last summer at the request of Akron police, prosecutors with the Ohio attorney general’s office presented the case to the grand jury.

City leaders have been preparing for potential demonstrations and set up a designated protest zone downtown outside the city hall building, where plywood covered the first-floor windows. There’s also temporary fencing around the county courthouse and many businesses boarded up their windows.

The city’s school district canceled classes on Tuesday in the wake of the grand jury announcement.

Less than 24 hours before the chase, police in neighboring New Franklin Township had tried to stop a car matching Walker’s, also for unspecified minor equipment violations. A supervisor there called off the pursuit when the car crossed the township’s border with Akron.

After almost four years in the role, Kenny Mitchell is departing as Snap’s chief marketing offer “to pursue another opportunity,” the company announced. The Snapchat parent is promoting Colleen DeCourcy to lead marketing at Snap, after she has served as chief creative officer since February 2022.

Mitchell will officially depart Snap next month following the company’s NewFronts presentation on May 2. As Snap’s new head of marketing, DeCourcy will report directly to CEO Evan Spiegel.

“Kenny is a dedicated, thoughtful and determined leader who has built our marketing team, helped us to launch countless products and created some of our most impactful campaigns, including ‘Real Friends’ and ‘Open Your Snapchat,’” Spiegel said in a statement. “Perhaps most importantly, he is a true team player and has worked tirelessly to support our team. I will sincerely miss working with Kenny.”

Regarding DeCourcy’s appointment, Spiegel said: “Colleen has already made a significant impact since joining Snap, and I am eager to see what she will accomplish leading our marketing team.”

News of the marketing leadership change comes ahead of the company’s fifth annual Snap Partner Summit this Wednesday (April 19) being held in Santa Monica.

Mitchell, a consumer-marketing veteran, joined Snap in June 2019 as the company’s first CMO. He previously worked at McDonald’s, Gatorade, NBC Sports Group and NASCAR.

DeCourcy, as Snap’s marketing leader, will retain the tile of chief creative officer, which she also previously held at ad agency Wieden+Kennedy.

Since joining Snap, she has led Snap’s global creative efforts, building out its creative marketing capacities and launching new campaigns. That has included Snap’s 2023 brand campaign, “Wait’ll You See This,” centered on “celebrating the joy, irreverence and spontaneity of communicating with your real friends in fun, unexpected ways,” per the company.

In 2022, DeCourcy launched Snap’s first Oscars commercial spot, inspired by Apple TV+’s “CODA,” the first motion picture starring a predominately Deaf cast in leading roles, which ended up winning the Academy Award for best picture. The ad shows people using Snapchat’s augmented-reality Lenses to learn American Sign Language.

Director Rebecca Zlotowski fifth feature film, “Other People’s Children,” is an emotionally provocative look at the life of a young teacher named Rachel, played by Virginie Efira, and her interactions with a single father. For Zlotowski, the film is a deeply autobiographical story inspired by many of the director’s own life experiences being a stepmother. But the film, which screened in January at the Sundance Film Festival, is resonating with single women for its nuanced exploration of how women navigate questions of motherhood.

It’s an intentional topic of Zlotowski’s feature despite her initial hesitation in telling the story to begin with. “I feel I resisted a lot. I didn’t want to tell this story,” she told TheWrap. “You struggle a lot not to tell a story and it imposes itself without being very romantic about creation.” The arrival of the pandemic left the director analyzing cities and the domestic lives people create around themselves and settled on a character that paralleled her. And Zlotowski makes no bones about how much of the character is inspired by her. The man playing Rachel’s father is Zlotowski’s own father, and the grave Rachel prays at in one scene is that of Zlotowski’s mother.

“This one had to be written with not not only my brain, but with my body,” she said. “It was the starting point. This thing was literally something [that] could live in my body and that was the end of fertility, and I had to deal with it. And I had to do something with it. I did this film, in order to survive it.” The film’s poignant exploration of femininity, and the personal choices of either having a child or not, are at the forefront of “Other People’s Children.”

An age-old question that’s come with the film is the concept of women “having it all.” As films of the ’80s laid out, women could be successful in both motherhood and business. Zlotowski wonders if we shouldn’t be revising the concept of “having it all” entirely. “When you have it all, it’s like you’re f–ked,” she said. “Because [is] it when you have the money? Is it when you raise the children?” Zlotowski said, instead, people should be seeing having it all as the path to self-enlightenment. “To ‘have it all’ is to follow the path of freedom,” she said. “Freedom means being in charge of the choices you make.”

And it’s hard to shake the resonance of seeing Rachel’s journey toward finding freedom, particularly in an American landscape where women’s rights are quickly being eroded day-by-day. “In this film, we’re like postmodern and post-feminism in a way, even if it’s terribly retrograde in countries, in mine and in yours. It’s a terrible moment for feminist issues, but we could tell that work, and career and children is okay,” she said.

Zlotowski believes, though, the bigger issue with regards to women today, and it’s one explored in the film, is fertility and how women often are presented with the end of fertility as the end of their lives. “The unfairness is that at a certain moment men can have children and women, it’s like the end of a chapter. It’s the end of the novel for them. We can work on that,” she said. She hopes, if anything, watching the film will let women see if children aren’t in the cards for them, whether by choice or not, it can be presented positively. If anything, she sees nuances like that as necessary in the feminist discourse going on right now, that women shouldn’t be penalized for not having children, nor should they be held to a high standard about having everything.

“Other People’s Children” opens in theaters April 21.

Mischa Barton is joining the new season of the iconic Australian soap Neighbours, which will air on Amazon Freevee.

Barton will guest star in the role of Reece, an American new to Erinsborough who’s not quite who she appears to be.

Freevee rescued the series following its cancellation in 2021. The daily series had bowed out on Network 10 in Australia and long-time British home Channel 5 after 37 years, after the Paramount-owned UK network pulled its funding from the show.

Original series cast Stefan Dennis, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Jackie Woodburne are reprising their roles in the new chapter.

Neighbours ran for nearly 9,000 episodes, and became a cult hit in the UK, where it initially aired on the BBC before switching to Channel 5, since its launch in 1985. The show acted as the launchpad for several global stars, including singer Minogue, Memento and L.A. Confidential’s Pearce and Wolf of Wall Street and Tonya star Margot Robbie.

Barton became known for her role on The O.C., which aired for four seasons on Fox. She most recently wrapped production on crime thriller Invitation To A Murder for ACE Entertainment.

The new season of Neighbours is set to launch in the fall.

Hollywood is getting ever closer to a shutdown.

The unions representing thousands of television and movie writers said on Monday that they had overwhelming support for a strike, giving union leaders the right to call for a walkout when the writers’ contract with the major Hollywood studios expires on May 1.

The unions, which are affiliated East and West Coast branches of the Writers Guild of America, said more than 9,000 writers had approved a strike authorization, with 98 percent of the vote.

W.G.A. leaders have said this is an “existential” moment for writers, contending that compensation has stagnated over the last decade despite the explosion of television series in the streaming era. In an email last week to writers, the lead negotiators said that “the survival of writing as a profession is at stake in this negotiation.”

With two weeks to go before the contract expires, there has been little sign of progress in the talks. In the email, the negotiating committee said the studios “have failed to offer meaningful responses on the core economic issues” and offered only small concessions in a few areas.

“In short, the studios have shown no sign that they intend to address the problems our members are determined to fix in this negotiation,” the email said.

The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which bargains on behalf of Hollywood production companies, said in a statement that a strike authorization “should come as no surprise to anyone.”

“A strike authorization vote has always been part of the W.G.A.’s plan, announced before the parties even exchanged proposals,” the statement said. “Our goal is, and continues to be, to reach a fair and reasonable agreement.” It added, “An agreement is only possible if the guild is committed to turning its focus to serious bargaining by engaging in full discussions of the issues with the companies and searching for reasonable compromises.”

In recent weeks, Hollywood executives have begun preparing for a strike, both by stockpiling scripts and by getting ready to produce a torrent of reality series, which do not need script writers. David Zaslav, the chief executive of Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns the Warner Bros. film and TV studios as well as HBO, said at a news media event last week that he was hopeful a deal would be reached. He added that “a strike will be a challenge for the whole industry.”

Still, he said, the company was fully prepared if there was a walkout.

“We’re assuming the worst from a business perspective,” he said. “We’ve got ourselves ready. We’ve had a lot of content that’s been produced.”

A strike authorization does not guarantee writers will take to the picket lines in two weeks. In 2017, a last-minute deal was struck with the studios not long after 96 percent of the writers voted to authorize a strike. The last time the writers went on strike was in 2007. That stoppage dragged for 100 days, into early 2008, and cost the Los Angeles economy an estimated $2.1 billion.

If a strike begins in early May, late-night shows like “Saturday Night Live” and talk shows hosted by Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers will go dark immediately. It would take a strike of several months before viewers began to notice an effect on scripted television series and movies.

The streaming era has resulted in a significant rise in the number of scripted television series that are produced, but writers say working conditions have not kept pace.

“Writers are working more weeks for less money,” said Eric Haywood, a veteran writer and producer, and a member of the W.G.A. negotiating committee. “And in some cases, veteran writers are working for the same money or, in some cases, less money than they made just a few years ago.”

The timing of the talks has an added complexity given the current financial challenges for all media and entertainment companies.

Over the last year, share prices for those companies have nose-dived after Wall Street began questioning why many streaming services were losing billions of dollars a year. The studios are quickly trying to make those streaming services profitable, after years of focusing primarily on growth. The shift is coming at a cost.

Disney is in the midst of 7,000 job cuts. Warner Bros. Discovery, confronting a debt load of about $50 billion, shelved projects and laid off thousands of workers last year. Other media companies are taking similar cost-cutting measures.

The writers do not appear to be sympathetic.

“The current status quo is unsustainable,” Mr. Haywood said.

The writers have taken particular aim at so-called minirooms. There is no one definition of a miniroom, but they have proliferated in the streaming era.

In one example, the studios will convene a miniroom before a show has been picked up by a studio and scheduled to air. A small group of writers will develop a series and write several scripts over two or three months.

But because the studios have not ordered the series, they will use that as justification to pay writers less than if they were in a formal writers’ room, union leaders said. And given the relatively short duration of the position, those writers are then left scrambling to find another job if the show is not picked up.

One union leader likened minirooms to “labor camps” during the negotiations, according to two people familiar with the talks, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.

A W.G.A. spokesman said the reference was not literal and had come during a presentation lasting an hour and a half.

“Development work has always been paid at a premium because you’re coming up with the idea,” Ellen Stutzman, the chief negotiator for the W.G.A., said in an interview. “If you’re going to have these rooms before you pick up a show or a season, you should pay writers a premium.”

The writers have also said residuals — which Ms. Stutzman called “the profit participation of the middle-class writer” — have been affected in the streaming era. Before streaming, writers could receive residual payments whenever a show was licensed, whether that was for syndication, an international deal or DVD sales.

But in the streaming era, as global services like Netflix and Amazon have been reluctant to license their series, those distribution arms have been cut off and replaced with a fixed residual, Ms. Stutzman said.

“If an overwhelming majority of the content writers create is for the streaming platforms where they are completely cut out of global growth and success, that is a very big problem,” she said.

For the second week in a row, “Succession” reached its biggest audience yet.

The HBO drama reached 2.6 million viewers on Sunday night, when the fourth episode of its fourth and final season debuted. That’s an improvement of 4% from Episode 3, which featured a shocking death and brought in a then-series high of 2.5 million viewers.

Immediately afterwards, HBO and HBO Max premiered the fourth and final season of “Barry” with two episodes. The first episode was watched by 710,000 viewers — the most the series has seen since the finale of Season 2, which benefited from airing directly after an episode of “Game of Thrones,” HBO’s most watched show ever. Episode 2 dropped by 23% to bring in 550,000 viewers.

Provided by Warner Bros. Discovery, these figures represent a combination of third-party data from Nielsen regarding viewership of both shows on HBO’s cable channel and WBD’s own data regarding streams on HBO Max.

Experience double the

Jonathan Kent has not developed powers on Superman & Lois, but the show’s third season is presenting another path for his character arc. From the beginning, one of the main focuses of Superman & Lois has been Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) being a caring and devoted father to his teenage sons Jordan (Alex Garfin) and Jonathan (Jordan Elssas in seasons one and two, and Michael Bishop in season three). After revealing to Jordan and Jonathan that he is Superman, Clark’s trials as a father multiply when Jordan develops Kryptonian powers that Clark must train him to harness.

Though Jonathan briefly inched towards developing powers himself in Superman & Lois season two after experimenting with X-Kryptonite, he has otherwise never had the chance to fly alongside his father and brother. While lacking the Kryptonian powers has at times been hard for Jonathan, Superman & Lois is not leaving him without opportunities to be a hero himself. In fact, Superman & Lois‘s season three episode “Head On” is showing exactly how Jonathan could become a long-term hero without relying on the powers of his Kryptonian heritage.

RELATED: Why Jonathan Kent Was Recast In Superman & Lois Season 3

Superman & Lois Sets Up The Solution To Jonathan’s Biggest Story

In “Head On,” Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez) offers Jonathan weekend employment at Smallville’s local fire station, with Jonathan showing interest in what a career as a firefighter could be like. In the immediate future, this indicates that Jonathan and Kyle’s stories in Superman & Lois season three could be somewhat intertwined. Kyle is still building a new life for himself after his divorce from Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) due to his marital infidelities, and this could take him on the path of growth from his mistakes by mentoring Jonathan as a firefighter.

More importantly for Jonathan is what that could mean for him in terms of his existential self-doubt in lacking Clark and Jordan’s powers. With Kyle taking Jonathan under his wing at Smallville’s fire station, Jonathan is entering a career path where saving lives is an inherent part of the job. Even without possessing Kryptonian powers, Jonathan can still be a hero like Clark and Jordan, and Superman & Lois clearly recognizes the importance of that by where it seems to be taking Jonathan’s story.

Superman & Lois Continues To Prove Jonathan Doesn’t Need Powers

Superman And Lois Season 3 Trailer Reveals First Look At Recast Jonathan Kent

Much of Jonathan’s arc in Superman & Lois season two was about him struggling with feelings of inadequacy, using X-Kryptonite to give himself a metahuman boost on the football field. Superman & Lois season three is showing Jonathan that his lack of powers does not define who he is and that he can do good for other people by helping them in whatever ways he can. Becoming a firefighter is giving Jonathan the confidence he needs, with Jonathan realizing that heroism is defined by selflessness rather than power.

Superman himself would never want any of the humans he protects to feel lesser than him because of his vast superpowers, and certainly not his own son. Superman & Lois is imparting that wisdom onto Jonathan by introducing him to a career that is predicated on the very heroism that he admires in his father. While Jordan Kent is on his way to becoming Superboy, Superman & Lois season three is teaching Jonathan that he can be just as heroic as Clark and Jordan without sharing their powers.

Square Enix recently admitted that early Forspoken sales had been disappointing.

The debut game from the Japanese company’s Luminous Productions studio was released in January to middling reviews, with its Metacritic score currently sitting at 64 on PS5 and 63 on PC.

Speaking during a financial results briefing in February, Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said sales of the game had been “lacklustre” following “challenging” reviews.

In contrast, Elden Ring has sold over 20 million copies since its release in February 2022 and also won numerous Game of the Year awards.

Its first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, was officially announced earlier this year, although a release date and further details have yet to be been confirmed.
