EXCLUSIVE: Former StudioCanal and Newen exec Romain Bessi stepped into Deadline’s Zurich Studio this past weekend, where he outlined the next steps for his international production company alliance The Creatives. The group, which was established five years ago and is comprised of nine production companies, has announced that they will be bringing their companies officially into a jointly-owned holding structure and that Anton Studios will join as a partner and minority investor for the group.

This brings the 17 producer-founders behind Komplizen Film (Germany), Good Chaos (UK), Haut Et Court (France), Lemming Film (Netherlands), Maipo Film (Norway), Razor Film (Germany), Spiro (Israel), Unité (France) and Masha (U.S.) into the first European-rooted producer-owned group of its scale in film and television.

“There’s nothing like it in Europe,” said Bessi, who is CEO of the outfit. “It’s a group of producers, owned by producers. It’s the first time there will be premium companies in the main European territories. Those companies, they are are coming together within a group and all of the founders of those companies are going to get shares of the group in return, meaning that they will be the ones controlling the group.

“So, it’s a group owned by producers, meaning that it’s not owned by equity investors, it’s not owned by a network, it’s owned by producers. For them, the main KPI is creativity, it’s not short-term financial return.”

Bessi, who was attending the Zurich Summit this weekend, was joined by Komplizen’s Janine Jackowski (Sentimental Value).

“We started to have our first meetings five years ago and we’ve been working together in different collaborations for many, many years,” she told Deadline. “We are all independent companies, and we all have a certain track record. We have existed for a long time and we have been approached by various networks or groups and the idea of being part of a group was very appealing to us but at the same time, we really wanted to keep our independence and really be free in the choice of projects, partners and creatives that we are working with.”

Jackowski continued: “When the idea of The Creatives came up this seemed like a great combination to keep all of that and to gain possibilities.”

Bessi added: “It’s really about gaining scale but not giving up autonomy.”

The group has been built in response to what they say is a decade shaped by industrial consolidation, the rise of streamers and AI, plus increasing pressure on public funding. Rather than sell, the producers have invested their companies into this new formalized corporate alliance. Each company retains its own name, team, leadership, culture and creative direction. The 17 founder members and CEO Bessi hold collective control.

Bessi said that within The Creatives “the easiest part of the job” is getting the companies to work together. “When I was at StudioCanal and Newen, I would buy companies and say to them, ‘Now work together, exchange ideas, co-produce content’ and most of them didn’t know each other. Here, it’s different. They know each other, they co-produce together and the synergies are already in place. We’re building a group out of existing synergies.”

Ed Sheeran’s Saturday, October 3, Loop Tour concert in Atlanta will feature a major change in the wake of the singer’s opening act controversy.

Shortly before Sheeran, 35, takes the stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the venue shared a “Know Before You Go” graphic to Instagram for attendees about arrival logistics.

“Parking lots open at 2:00 p.m. [and] gates open at 6:00 p.m.,” the statement read. “Special guest takes the stage at 7 p.m. Ed Sheeran takes the stage at 8:00 p.m.”

Ed Sheeran returned to his Loop Tour after opening act Macklemore was dropped from the lineup for making pro-Palestinian remarks onstage. “Before I play some songs tonight, I hope it’s okay if I say a few words about this last week,” Sheeran, 35, told fans during the Saturday, September 19, concert at the Lincoln Financial […]

The upload further revealed that the stadium’s 360-degree Halo Board video display won’t be used “at the artist’s request.”

It’s not known who will join Sheeran on the Loop Tour stage. His opening acts Finneas and Lukas Graham voluntarily left the roster in September in solidarity with Macklemore, who was dismissed from the bill over backlash to his MetLife Stadium performances. (Macklemore, 43, chanted “Free Palestine” while opening Sheeran’s two concerts in New Jersey.)

Sheeran, who denies personally firing Macklemore, returned to the Loop Tour in Philadelphia on September 19 without any support acts. He also enlisted a new backing band to replace Beoga after the Irish group similarly left in solidarity with the “Thrift Shop” rapper.

“There are certain songs that just don’t work on the loop pedal, so, when my friends dropped off this show, I was thinking, ‘How am I going to keep the show the same?’” Sheeran said during the show, referring to his signature gear to mix songs himself. “How am I going to get musicians to stand on stage with me in a week where no one wants to stand on stage with me?”

With just three days’ notice, Sheeran asked violinist Alicia Enstrom and her friends to accompany his live renditions of “Galway Girl” and “Nancy Mulligan.”

Shortly after Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour concert for his unapologetic support of Palestine, ticket prices for the singer’s upcoming Philadelphia show have dropped by at least 50 percent. According to recent TickPick data, the get-in ticket price for Sheeran’s Saturday, September 19, show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia has plummeted, […]

“I just want to say before they come onstage, they said yes to being onstage with the knowledge that the world thought I was a certain type of person,” he added at the time. “They said yes with the knowledge that the world may hate them too for standing on stage with me, and I am so grateful for them being here tonight and standing on stage with me in front of you guys.”

Elsewhere during his Philadelphia concert, Sheeran issued a public apology for “mistakes” about how the situation was handled. (The Grammy winner claimed he was pressured by the stadium owners to drop Macklemore from the roster.)

“I’m used to my music being criticized, and I’m always happy to take that because I’m lucky. A lot of you like my stuff, and to be honest, I’m surprised,” he began the show. “I’m not surprised that I’ve even done it. You know, it’s normal. This week, the criticism was about something much more important, and I’ve had to take [it in] and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry.”

According to Sheeran, he stated that he has never wanted to “disappoint fans.”

“This has put me in the middle of an important, passionate argument about freedom of speech on the most complex issue on the planet,” he continued at the time. “[My music] has always been a safe space for everyone. That matters hugely to me. Honoring my commitment to my fans is also completely essential to who I am. That is why I’m here tonight — on my own — continuing my own tour.”

1Win Chile Reclamos: Practical Guidance for Players

What Is 1Win and Why Chilean Players Care?

1Win is a rapidly expanding online casino and sportsbook that targets Latin America, especially Chile. The platform mixes traditional casino games, live dealer tables and a full‑featured sportsbook under one roof. Because the brand is relatively new in the region, many Chilean users end up searching for “1win chile reclamos” when something doesn’t work as expected.

Most complaints revolve around delayed withdrawals, verification hiccups, or unclear bonus terms. Understanding how the site is structured, what licences it holds and which payment methods are available can turn a frustrating experience into a manageable one.

Getting Started: Registration and Verification

The sign‑up flow is deliberately simple: you need an email, a password and a Chilean mobile number. After confirming the email, the platform asks for basic KYC documents – typically a photo ID and a utility bill. This verification step is where many “reclamos” originate, because players sometimes skip the upload or use a scanned copy that isn’t clear enough.

Tips to avoid verification delays:

  • Use a high‑resolution photo or PDF of your ID.
  • Make sure the document shows your full name, photo and expiration date.
  • Submit a recent utility bill that matches the address you entered.
  • Double‑check that the file size meets the site’s limits (usually under 5 MB).

Bonuses, Welcome Offers and Wagering Requirements

New users are greeted with a layered welcome package: a deposit match, free spins and a risk‑free sports bet. The headline sounds generous, but the fine print hides wagering requirements that can trip up beginners.

Typical conditions include a 30× rollover on the bonus amount, a minimum odds of 1.75 for sports bets, and a 48‑hour expiration window. If you ignore these details, you may find the bonus “locked” and end up filing a 1win chile reclamos about “bonus not credited”.

How to Meet the Requirements Efficiently

Focus on low‑variance slot games with a high RTP (around 96 % or higher). Play a mix of slots and modest sports wagers to keep the turnover balanced. Once the wagering is completed, request the withdrawal – the system will automatically release the funds.

Payment Methods, Deposits and Withdrawal Speed

1Win supports a range of Chile‑friendly deposit options: credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and popular e‑wallets like Skrill and Neteller. Withdrawal methods mirror the deposit choices, but processing times differ.

The platform promises “instant payouts” for e‑wallets, while bank transfers can take 2‑5 business days. Delays often become the core of “reclamos” when players expect immediate cash.

Typical Processing Times for Popular Methods
Method Deposit Speed Withdrawal Speed Typical Fees
Visa/Mastercard Instant 24‑48 h No fee
Skrill Instant Instant 0.5 % (min $1)
Bank Transfer Up to 1 day 2‑5 days $5 flat

Common 1Win Chile Reclamos and How to Resolve Them

Below are the most frequent complaints and a quick action plan for each:

  • Delayed withdrawals: Verify that you used an approved e‑wallet; if not, request a faster method via support.
  • Bonus not credited: Check that you met the wagering requirements and that the bet met the minimum odds.
  • KYC rejection: Resubmit clear documents, ensure your name matches exactly across all files.
  • Account locked: Contact live chat, provide proof of identity and explain the specific issue.

When filing a complaint, keep the tone polite, include your user ID, screenshots of the issue and a concise description. Most agents resolve “reclamos” within 24‑48 hours if the information is complete.

Customer Support Channels and Expected Response Times

1Win offers three main support routes: live chat, email ticketing and a telephone hotline. Live chat is the fastest, typically answering within a few minutes. Email responses can take up to 12 hours, while the phone line operates only during Chilean business hours (9 am‑6 pm).

If you encounter a stubborn issue, start with live chat, then follow up with an email that references the chat transcript. This two‑step approach often speeds up the resolution of “1win chile reclamos”.

Mobile App, Live Casino and Sports Betting Experience

The 1Win mobile app is available for both Android and iOS, offering a streamlined interface for slots, live dealer tables and the sportsbook. The live casino section includes real‑time dealers for roulette, blackjack and baccarat, all streamed in HD.

Betting on Chilean football matches is a highlight, with competitive odds and in‑play options. The app’s “instant payouts” feature works best with e‑wallets, delivering a near‑real‑time cash‑out experience that many players appreciate.

Security, Licensing and Responsible Gambling

1Win operates under a Curacao eGaming licence, which provides basic consumer protection but does not carry the same weight as a UKGC or Malta licence. The site employs SSL encryption for all data transfers and uses two‑factor authentication for withdrawals.

For responsible gambling, 1Win includes self‑exclusion tools, deposit limits and a “time out” feature. Players who feel they are losing control can activate these tools directly from their account dashboard.

Final Tips and Where to Find Independent Reviews

To minimise the chance of needing to file a 1win chile reclamos, keep these points in mind: always read the bonus terms, verify your documents before uploading, choose e‑wallets for the fastest payouts, and use live chat for urgent matters.

For an unbiased perspective on 1Win and other betting platforms, you can check out www.nickodemus.com. Independent reviews often highlight hidden fees or regional quirks that aren’t obvious at first glance.

Rakhi Sawant calls Govinda’s rumoured girlfriend Komal Rani Swarnkar “pati chor”.

Rakhi Sawant has once again weighed in on the controversy surrounding Govinda, his wife Sunita Ahuja and his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. After Komal was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport, Rakhi launched into a sharp attack on her and also questioned Govinda over the ongoing speculation surrounding his marriage.

Speaking to the paparazzi, Rakhi said she was unhappy with Govinda and declared, “Govinda ji, pura desh naaraz hai aapse.”

Rakhi Sawant Takes A Dig At Komal Rani Swarnkar

Rakhi’s remarks quickly shifted towards Komal, whose name has repeatedly surfaced amid rumours concerning Govinda’s personal life.

Taking a sarcastic swipe at her, Rakhi asked, “Ye Komal kaun hai? Ye choopa laga rahi hai kya?”

She also claimed that Komal had been speaking about her and other celebrities.

“Ye mere bare m bakwas kar rahi hai, aur bhi celebs ke baare mein bakwas kar rahi hai. Chichi bhaiya ne isko ye pankh diye hain,” Rakhi said.

Rakhi then issued a direct warning to Komal and invoked Sunita while doing so.

“Sun, meri naad mein nahi lagna. Main Sunita nahi hoon, teri dhajjiyan uda ke rakh dungi,” she said.

She went a step further and referred to Komal as “pati chor” while commenting on the rumours linking her to Govinda.

Rakhi Reacts To Sindoor Question

During the interaction, the paparazzi also asked Rakhi about Komal reportedly sporting sindoor.

Rakhi responded with another sarcastic question: “Han, Chichi bhaiya ke naam ka sindoor?”

She also joked about her long-standing admiration for Govinda and demanded that the actor return Rs 65,999 to her, claiming she had spent that amount watching his films over the years.

The remarks came amid continuing public scrutiny around Govinda and Sunita’s marriage, which has been under the spotlight following reports of differences between the two.

Govinda-Sunita Marriage Has Been Under Scrutiny

Govinda and Sunita have been married for nearly four decades. According to the information available in the report, Sunita had filed for divorce in 2024 but later withdrew the petition in August 2026.

She subsequently alleged that Govinda and Komal were planning to get married. Govinda’s manager dismissed that claim.

Komal, meanwhile, has maintained that her association with Govinda is professional. The speculation intensified after Govinda and Komal were seen together during a visit to Lalbaugcha Raja.

Neither Govinda nor Komal has publicly confirmed being in a romantic relationship.

Multi-platinum-selling R&B star Mario is heading to Pretoria to headline the inaugural We Love R&B Concert Experience, joining previously announced acts Dru Hill and Silk for a night of nostalgic hits and timeless R&B favourites.

Presented by Remoakantse Holdings, the concert will take place at the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Menlyn, on Saturday, May 22, 2027.

The two-time Grammy nominee has enjoyed a career spanning more than two decades, establishing himself as one of R&B’s most recognisable voices.

Mario shot to international fame with the chart-topping hit Let Me Love You and has since delivered a string of fan favourites, including Just a Friend 2002, How Do I Breathe, Crying Out for Me and Music for Love.

His Pretoria performance will see him share the stage with Dru Hill, known for hits such as In My Bed, Never Make a Promise and These Are the Times, and acclaimed quartet Silk, whose catalogue includes Freak Me and Meeting in My Bedroom.

Remoakantse Holdings managing director Thabiso Mogashwa said the addition of Mario completes what the organisers believe will be a memorable R&B experience for South African fans.

“We said there was another major announcement coming, and we are thrilled that we can finally share it. Mario is an incredible artist with a catalogue that has travelled across generations, and having him headline alongside Dru Hill and Silk is exactly the kind of R&B experience we wanted to bring to Pretoria,” said Mogashwa.

“These are multi-platinum-selling artists whose music people know, love and have grown up with. We are incredibly excited to bring them together on one stage and give South African fans the opportunity to experience these songs live. This is going to be a very special night.”

With Mario, Dru Hill and Silk confirmed for the line-up, the We Love R&B Concert Experience promises an evening of nostalgia, live performances and some of the genre’s most recognisable sounds.

Marvel Studios made the announcement to end all announcements at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 when Robert Downey Jr. took the stage as Doctor Doom. After striking out with Kang, Kevin Feige and Co. needed to take a big swing, and they landed on arguably Marvel’s most iconic villain. However, despite the initial fanfare, Avengers: Doomsday has done all it can to keep the mystique around Doom alive, even hiding his face in all the marketing. But the mask has finally come off, thanks to an unlikely source.

Toy manufacturers worldwide start licking their chops whenever a new Marvel Studios movie is announced. Hot Toys, in particular, goes all in, working on lifelike figures of the brand’s biggest characters. For Doomsday, the company announced many pieces of tie-in merchandise, most notably a Doctor Doom figure. The toy description mentioned a removable inner-eye plate, but none of the accompanying images showed it removed.

Hot Toys

Well, now Doom’s figure is in the hands of a collector, 6thscale_KaWu on X, who’s more than happy to show off what the villain has going on under his mask.

The best look at Doom’s face comes from an image where he still wears his green hood. The resemblance to Tony Stark is uncanny, though his facial hair isn’t an exact match for any of the looks the original Avenger sported over the years.

Another aspect of Doom’s face that stands out is his expression. Rather than coming off as maniacal, he seems calculated and almost broken, which fits Susan Storm’s description of him in the Doomsday Special Look.

Hot Toys

It’s nice to see Doom using his magic without his mask on. The green glow that 6thscale_KaWu uses to enhance the image feels like a great tease of what’s to come in the fifth Avengers film.

While these images certainly provide plenty to mull over, they also shoot down an idea that’s been circulating across the internet since SDCC 2024. Obviously, Marvel Studios landed on Downey Jr. as Doom because it saw potential in the villain looking like the MCU’s greatest hero. But his refusal to show his face made it seem like he had something to hide.

The prevailing theory became that Doom has a disfigured face, one that he wants to hide. Maybe all the messing with the multiverse the Avengers did somehow left him scarred, and he wants revenge. However, the Hot Toy paints a different picture, seemingly confirming that Doom will use his looks to his benefit.

Doctor Doom’s Face Will Force the MCU’s Heroes to Trust Him in Avengers: Doomsday

Hot Toys/Marvel Studios

Despite spending an entire saga trying to figure it out, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes know very little about the multiverse. Most of them grasp the basics, such as that there are parallel Earths and variants. But that’s only scratching the surface. Someone of Doom’s intellect will surely know everything there is to know about the multiverse, including how to exploit it.

The evildoer already showed he has no trouble jumping from reality to reality to take what he wants in Avengers Endgame: Encore‘s post-credits scene, when he traveled to Earth-616 and kidnapped Bruce Banner. His next trick will be more elaborate, as he seems to be preparing to pull the wool over the eyes of the most powerful heroes in the multiverse.

Doctor Doom holding his mask in Avengers: Doomsday.
Hot Toys

As soon as Thor, Steve Rogers, and their allies see that Doom looks exactly like their late friend, they’ll let their guard down. After all, Tony was the best of them, so someone who has his face certainly won’t be out to get them. Doom will leave no room for doubt, especially since he seems to have the Fantastic Four’s ear, at least at first.

The ground is being laid for a twist unlike anything the MCU has seen before. Without even realizing it, the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four are going to play right into Doom’s hands and maybe even give him everything he needs to enact his evil plan. And it’s all because he hit the genetic lottery.

Of course, that’s where things get tricky because it’s hard to believe that Doom and Iron Man being doppelgangers is a mere coincidence. There’s still time for Marvel Studios to pull a fast one and reveal that Doom did his homework and used magic to give himself a leg up in the fight for the multiverse’s fate. Either way, everything is falling into place for Doomsday to fire on all cylinders and put the MCU firmly back at its peak.

The entertainment landscape is in the midst of a massive shift, as Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery officially completed the merger that has been discussed for most of the last year. Paramount CEO David Ellison officially confirmed the merger and revealed that the new conglomerate will operate under the Skydance name, matching his original film company. Ellison celebrated the occasion with a lengthy message on social media, positioning Skydance as “a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling.” Now, the new mega-corporation moves forward to oversee some of the world’s biggest franchises, including Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings.

Amongst those franchises is the new DC Universe, brought to life by DC Studios under the leadership of co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. Having first kicked off in Dec. 2024, DC Studios has already seen plenty of ups and downs, with this year in particular bringing disappointing results for Supergirl in theaters alongside massive success for Lanterns on HBO Max. This merger has left Gunn and Safran’s jobs hanging in the balance, as there are countless questions about what Skydance would decide to do regarding this saga. Now, as the dust settles, it appears that DC’s dynamic duo is not going anywhere.

Deadline reported that Skydance (formerly Paramount and Warner Bros.) will stick with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran to lead the DC Universe. The duo recently met with Skydance co-CEO David Ellison about their future, and that meeting reportedly went well. From here, all of Paramount and Warner Bros.’ film units will now report to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein.

This news comes as a major relief, as the new DC Universe is still looking to find a solid footing nearly two years into its run in theaters and on TV. It is also on a hot streak right now, as Lanterns is one of HBO Max’s most popular shows before the season finale seals the fate of Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart and Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan. While Gunn and Safran appear to be locked in at DC Studios for the foreseeable future, the DC Universe’s upcoming slate remains unclear.

As of this writing, the next confirmed live-action project on DC Studios’ slate after Clayface this month is Man of Tomorrow, which completed filming in Aug. 2026 and will be released on Jul. 9, 2027. From there, DC has laid out definitive plans for other major projects, including the animated Dynamic Duo movie (Jun. 30, 2028), an animated Mister Miracle series, and Skyler Gisondo’s live-action The People v. Gorilla Grodd. Other movies and TV shows are earlier in development, but the release schedule remains in flux as Paramount and Warner Bros. move towards their next steps.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has revealed the Minecraft city he spent about 12 years building, sharing a tour on his new YouTube channel. What began as a way to connect with his children became a carefully planned Creative Mode project shaped by his interest in architecture.

Mike Tomlin’s 12-Year Minecraft City

In his video, Tomlin explained that his children introduced him to Minecraft when they were in middle school. He became interested after seeing how absorbed they were, but chose Creative Mode rather than Survival Mode because he did not have the stick control for the latter.

The city started as a family activity, and all of Tomlin’s children contributed buildings of their own. They eventually moved on to other interests as they reached high school and college, but Tomlin kept building, expanding the project beyond its original role as time spent with his family.

The tour opens on a blue pond ringed by detailed buildings, then moves through a hotel with labeled rooms, a lobby, ballroom, pool, bathrooms and other finished interiors. Tomlin also paid attention to how lighting would shape the views inside rooms. Much of the city is arranged around bodies of water, while its off-campus university housing draws on memories of dropping his son Dino off at college.

A Creative Project That Kept Growing

Tomlin’s children may have lost interest in Minecraft, but he continued to find value in building. In the IGN report on the reveal, the project is described as therapeutic for him, offering a way to step away from life’s pressures. That shift from family pastime to personal creative outlet gives the city’s long development a distinctly personal angle.

The build also shows how much room Minecraft’s Creative Mode gives players to turn architectural interests into a persistent world. Tomlin’s tour is not just a quick look at a few structures: it traces a city developed over more than a decade, with practical details considered alongside its appearance.

What’s Next for Tomlin’s Channel?

Tomlin stepped down as Steelers coach in January 2026 after 19 seasons with the team. IGN reports that he won Super Bowl LXIII during his coaching career; now, his Minecraft work has become a very different project to share publicly.

Mike Tomlin

He said he plans to take a closer look at the city in future videos and teased another feature he thinks viewers will find interesting. For now, the first tour establishes the scale of the build and the architectural details that kept Tomlin returning to the same world long after his children moved on.

Although Digger has premiered this weekend to mixed reviews, Guillermo Del Toro is a confirmed fan of the Alejandro G. Iñárritu satire.

The 3x Oscar winner has taken to social media to heap praise on Tom Cruise‘s latest after responding to a critic that called the film “far from a must-watch” and recommended viewers wait for it to hit streaming.

“Entirely Petty headline,” wrote Del Toro in response to IGN’s review. “Love it or not. And, yes, I do. The film delivers in scale, ambition and reach at a theatrical screen level. Daring, bold and cinematically complex. Decidedly a theatrical experience.”

It turns out the algorithm was listening, as the Pan’s Labyrinth auteur has since continued reposting other fans’ praise of the Warner Bros. movie, which is now in theaters.

“Funny, I go into the platform and without even scrolling down, these are popping at the top of my timeline…” he wrote with one repost. “So… I will just keep posting them. Tune in or drop out-“

“Dig or Die – c’mon!” Del Toro wrote with another.

Sitting at a 51% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a C+ CinemaScore, Del Toro compared the bad reviews for Digger to the criticism that surrounded The King of Comedy (1982), The Big Lebowski (1998) and The Counselor (2013), all having since become appreciated by audiences years later.

In Digger, Cruise stars as the titular oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, who races to fix a catastrophe he caused so he can avoid blame and be seen as humanity’s savior.

The first reactions to Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! are in! The film, starring Pedro Pascal as Alex Serian, a gifted, migratory cellist and third-generation studio musician, premiered at the 64th New York Film Festival on October 2, 2026, ahead of its December 4, 2026, theatrical release by Searchlight Pictures.

Opinions of the film appear to be mixed, with some calling Gilroy’s exploration of Serian’s journey a “divine love letter to music.” In contrast, others say it “follows a well-worn path,” narratively speaking. One aspect of the film that everyone seems to agree on is that the music is outstanding, with Pascal delivering an astonishing performance as a virtuoso who’s mastered his craft.

Pedro Pascal Takes Center Stage as a Virtuoso Cellist

Behemoth! focuses on Alex Serian (Pedro Pascal). As he records cues for a score, each composition triggers non-linear, fragmented flashbacks into his past. The narrative weaves together his fraught family history, past trysts, intergenerational trauma, and his emotionally unavailable demeanor as he tries to reconcile with his past through music.

Let’s take a look at some of the reactions posted online after last night’s premiere screening:

Jazz Tangcay, the Senior Artisans Editor at Variety, said, “Tony Gilroy delivers a divine love letter to music and the world of movie scores. Pedro Pascal is captivating and mesmerizing to watch. The score from the Behemoth Collective – nine incredible composers – is a triumph. Loved it.”

Joey Magidson, the owner and editor of Awards Radar wrote, “Behemoth! is the Pedro Pascal show. It’s a terrific performance in a film that is formally clever, though eventually follows a well worn path. Occasionally meandering, it’s ultimately a good movie with a great turn from Pascal at its center. Great music, too, as you might expect.”

Meanwhile, Jason of Fantastic Film Fans says, “BEHEMOTH!: Think Birdman meets Tar Meets Jay Kelly!? Completely worked for me. A rock anthem for my senses and emotions. Such a beguiling fifteen-year memory confession of a wildly successful wunderkind from a family of old Hollywood film musicians. Brilliantly cuts between the orchestra and his actual life who’s scoring his own life’s regrets and biggest scenes. Pascal is BRILLIANT and I don’t say that lightly. Haven’t been brutalized this gently since Amy Adams in ARRIVAL.”

Erik Anderson of Critics’ Choice thought the film was brilliant, posting, “BEHEMOTH! is a huge success. The clever structure and story integration of the 9-composer score is genius, the editing is super crisp and Pedro Pascal serves sad puppy eyes as a cellist at several crossroads in his life. Big return to form for director Tony Gilroy.”

In a novelesque post on X, Greg Pomes praised Gilroy’s new film, with his premium account allowing him to post what feels like a full review of the movie:

“Behemoth! is a movie that reminds you just how important music is to the experience of watching a film. Tony Gilroy doesn’t simply use movie scores as background here. He makes them part of the entire language of the film. This feels like a genuine appreciation of film scores, the musicians who perform them, and the composers who create the music that can completely change the way we experience an image.

Pedro Pascal gives one of his best performances, a gifted cellist whose life has been defined by music. Pascal is fantastic because so much of the performance is internal. Alex is someone carrying around years of complicated relationships, regrets, memories and decisions that he hasn’t completely dealt with. As the film moves through different periods of his life, you slowly begin to understand how he became the person he is.”

Zach Bryan wore a “Free Palestine“ shirt while performing at Gillette Stadium on Friday night for his With Heaven On Tour following owner Robert Kraft defending his move to urge for Macklemore‘s removal from Ed Sheeran‘s tour after making pro-Palestinian remarks in earlier shows.

In photos and videos captured by fans and shared on social media, Bryan can be seen wearing a black shirt with the “Free Palestine“ wording while several of his band members also wore Palestine-branded clothing.

Bryan reportedly did not address the shirt or comment further onstage about Palestine.

The country singer is having a two-night run at Kraft’s stadium, slated to close his tour on Saturday night.

Bryan’s “Free Palestine” shirt comes amid controversy surrounding Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium. Rapper Macklemore previously alleged that he was dropped from being an opener on Sheeran‘s tour after Kraft “rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues.” During his opening set at MetLife Stadium, Macklemore had publicly shouted “Free Palestine” and showed footage from Gaza on the screen behind him.

“What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,“ Macklemore also shared in a statement. “When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.“

On his Instagram Stories, Macklemore shared a photo of Bryan wearing the shirt writing, “Robert Kraft“ and putting the side eye emoji and the Palestine flag.

In response Kraft said in a statement, “Gillette Stadium has a longstanding commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all guests and ensuring that events held at our venue do not provide a platform for hate speech. Based on Macklemore’s recent actions, material shared from the stage during Ed Sheeran’s shows in New Jersey, and a broader history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery that we believe has been deeply offensive and hurtful to the Jewish community, we determined that his participation in the September 25th and 26th concerts at Gillette Stadium would cross that line.”

He also said he would “welcome the opportunity to sit down with Macklemore and discuss the facts, because ultimately our goal is the same – peace for all people, an end to suffering, and an end to all hate.”

Of the decision, Sheeran shared in his own statement, “Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter’s decision, it was not mine. Macklemore’s contract for the tour was with the promoter, not me.”

Amid the fallout, other acts scheduled to open Sheeran‘s tour — Finneas, Danish pop band Lukas Graham and Irish singer Aaron Rowe — dropped out in solidarity with Macklemore.

Macklemore later revealed that he’s donating $1 million to support Palestinian people and invited Kraft to match his donation. The Gillette Stadium owner agreed and announced that he planned “to commit $2 million to match his donation to aid in the region to fight this humanitarian crisis.”

Macklemore has since announced a “Free Palestine” Tour, with all the proceeds pledged to pro-Palestinian organizations. He will perform in Dublin, Paris and London on Oct. 26, 29 and 30. Additional artists performing are to be announced.

Last week, Macklemore shared that following his announcement all three dates have since sold out. “I’m honestly blown away,” Macklemore wrote. “We put these shows together fast and in community, believing that musicians can stand in solidarity with Palestine, use the stage to raise funds and show what collective action can look like. When those in power try to silence our calls for liberation, art will always be a form of resistance.“

The Hollywood Reporter has requested comment from Kraft.

A previous version of this story misidentified an X account as Zach Bryan‘s. His account has reportedly been deactivated.

Well, that didn’t take long! Just 24 hours after our latest update on The Watcher Season 2 was finally gearing up for production, Netflix has officially pulled back the curtain, confirming the hit thriller series is indeed coming back with some key new castings, which tears apart our theory from yesterday.

In a newly released press release, Netflix confirmed that production is getting underway this Fall in New York. However, while our production timeline and crew coverage were spot on, Netflix dropped a massive bombshell about the cast that completely upends what we thought we knew about the plot and that it’s not an anthology.

Let’s break down the official news, looking at what we got right, what we got wrong, and what we’re still waiting to hear about.

What We Got Right

First, let’s pat ourselves on the back for a moment. As we reported yesterday, the cameras are officially rolling this Fall, and filming is indeed taking place in New York.

We also nailed the creative team. Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are back as creators and executive producers, with the PR officially dubbing Brennan as the Showrunner for season 2.

Furthermore, our intel on the expansive executive producing team was largely correct. Naomi Watts has officially been elevated to Executive Producer, alongside returning EPs Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman, Eric Newman, and Bryan Unkeless. Our sources also correctly pinpointed Karl Frankenfield and Tanase Popa’s heavy involvement, who are now officially credited as EPs as well. (The official PR also adds Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, and Todd Kubrak to the EP roster).

What We Got Wrong: The Brannocks Are Back!

Returning Cast For The Watcher Season 2Returning Cast For The Watcher Season 2

Pictures courtesy of Netflix / IMDb

Here is where Netflix threw us a massive curveball.

Yesterday, based on casting grids and loglines, we suggested that season 2 was pivoting to a total anthology format—leaving the Brannock family behind in favor of a new storyline centered around a terrifying college fraternity.

That’s not accurate, though, as the Brannocks are not done.

Netflix’s official announcement explicitly states that the core season 1 cast is returning. Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale will reprise their roles as Nora and Dean Brannock. Also returning are Margo Martindale as the neighborhood busybody Maureen (“Mo”) and Isabel Gravitt as the Brannocks’ teenage daughter, Ellie Brannock.

Connecting the Dots: What We’re Still Waiting to Hear

So, how does a college fraternity storyline fit into the continuing saga of the Brannock family? We have a pretty strong theory.

Given that Isabel Gravitt is returning as Ellie Brannock, it’s highly likely she is heading off to college. If Ellie is a freshman, it perfectly aligns with the casting breakdown we scooped yesterday for “Jane,” a sweet-faced college freshman whose night turns into absolute terror. Will Ellie get tangled up with Raj the pledge and Stash the “douchey” frat bro? Are the Brannocks moving to a college town to escape the trauma of their dream home, only to be stalked by a new Watcher on campus?

While we wait to see how the frat storyline weaves into the Brannock family drama, there are a few other things we’re keeping an eye out for:

Will the rest of the neighborhood return? There is no mention yet of Jennifer Coolidge (Karen Calhoun), Richard Kind (Mitch), or Mia Farrow (Pearl).

A Massive Slate for Murphy and Netflix

It’s no surprise Netflix is eager to get The Watcher back on our screens. The streamer used today’s announcement to flex just how massive their drama and true-crime slates have become.

Per Netflix, Season 1 of The Watcher spent 5 weeks on the Global Top 10 English TV list, hitting the top 10 in over 90 countries. Meanwhile, Murphy’s Monster franchise remains an absolute juggernaut. Netflix noted that the Monster franchise has surpassed 320M views across its seasons, with the currently airing fourth installment, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, already racking up 26.6M views and dominating the #1 spot globally.

We will keep you updated as more official news (and hopefully some casting announcements for those fraternity roles) drops for The Watcher Season 2.

Are you thrilled to see the Brannock family returning? How do you think they’ll tie into a college frat nightmare? Let us know in the comments below!

When “Josephine” director Beth de Araújo stood onstage at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills on Friday afternoon to accept the Breakthrough Director Award at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebración of Cinema & Television 2026, she said “I had something very different planned to say today, but it’s been a heart wrenching week and I know my collaborators would want me to use his time to talk about it.”

Though her speech had started off on a cheerful note, thanking presenter Jason Blum for his kind words, and for having produced her directorial debut “Soft and Quiet,” de Araújo began to tear up thinking about the motivations for making her celebrated sophomore feature, which had the rare distinction of winning both the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award for the Dramatic Competition at Sundance this year, and how it connects to current events involving the recent rape case at Cornell University.

Below is the “Josephine” filmmaker’s acceptance speech, lightly edited and condensed for clarity and length.

“When I was eight, my father and I interrupted a rape in the park. I started writing ‘Josephine’ when I was 27. Just after the first time my father and I ever discussed what had happened, I asked him why didn’t he explain to me what rape was when I asked on the day? Why didn’t he explain to me what was going on?

How does a father explain to his eight year old daughter what rape is? It’s an impossible task. You can’t even tell your eight year old daughter it’s uncommon or unlikely to happen to her. This is what I wanted to explore in our film. This impossible task for a father to convince his daughter that she’s safe as this fear becomes a part of who she is and how she moves her body through this world.

‘Josephine’Greta Zozula

The first words I heard out of the victim’s mouth was a screeching cry out for help. My father, a Brazilian immigrant, chased after the man, and helped the police make an arrest. But this week we have come to learn that other men did not come to a former Cornell student’s aid when she needed it. The details are horrifying. The Cornell administration that gave leniency to these boys are at best sympathizers who valued those boys’ lives over Jane Doe’s.

These men were going to graduate and become our next leaders. It’s a reminder of why so many people carry pain in silence. Not one of those 50 men behaved like my father when they saw an injustice. Not one. Rape and rape culture are global epidemics. The words we’ve read in the fraternity text chain are not an anomaly.

To the men who have not lost their humanity. Please hold each other accountable even when it’s uncomfortable. Be the man who chases, not the man who laughs with the group. Help the women and girls in your lives. If a young filmmaker asks you for notes on a cut of her film, give them. Any small engagement is enormously motivating and helpful for her persistence. If for no other reason, do it for yourself because the stories we tell raise the leaders who will show up for us then when we need them.

I did not have the capacity to help the young woman in the park when I was eight. I didn’t yet have the faculties. I made ‘Josephine’ with the purpose of answering the woman’s call for help now.

This week I kept wondering ‘What would Jane Doe have grown up to be when she graduated?’ The doctor, senator, the journalist. In the only way she could, with anything left that she was able to muster, she cried out to us for help and I really hope we all answer that call.

To my film family, Gemma [Chan], Channing [Tatum], Phil [Ettinger], Syra [McCarthy], our cast and crew, our producers, thank you for answering that call. It was a hard story, but they made it a joyful set for me. And to Mason [Reeves], our Josephine, thank you for giving this character more honesty, love, and resilience than I could have ever asked for. And to everyone who has watched this film and who has talked about it, I really thank you.”

ultimate Jack Casino weekend bonus offer in UK

I approach jackcasino as a full online gambling platform instead of a single product. This guide outlines what I look for across the game library, bonus terms, payment options, security, mobile access, and responsible gambling controls. I concentrate on practical checks that assist you decide whether the casino suits your style and bankroll.

The Game Library and Lobby Organization

The first thing I examine is how the casino arranges its games. Jack Casino categorizes its catalogue into conventional categories such as slots, table games, live casino, and jackpot titles. A obvious structure is important because it cuts the time you devote searching. Search filters, provider menus, and a favourites list can turn a large library into a workable browsing experience.

I also check for demo play. Testing a game without real money lets you assess volatility, bonus rounds, and minimum bets before dedicating. Not every title supports demo mode, especially live dealer tables. When the feature is available, I utilize it to examine the game rules and payout mechanics without burning through a deposit.

The provider list is another signal of quality. Multiple software studios usually mean a wider range of mechanics and visual styles. If the lobby permits filtering by provider, I utilize that tool to discover titles from studios whose games I already comprehend. This is more effective than scrolling through hundreds of unfamiliar releases.

Transactions, Payouts, and Financial Processing Time

The banking section should provide a convenient selection of payment cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, and potentially prepaid alternatives. Availability can change by nation and currency, so I open the deposit page inside my logged-in account to observe what actually is displayed for me. That view is more reliable than a standard banking page because it shows my location and current status.

Deposit Procedure

Deposits are generally instant for cards and e-wallets, while bank transfers might need longer. Many casinos establish a lowest deposit approximately ten or twenty currency units, but the specific amount is found in the terms. I begin with a modest deposit while I check that the method operates, fees are reasonable, and funds come quickly.

Cashout Method

Cashouts are not just the reverse of deposits. The primary payout often requires identity confirmation, comprising a photo ID, proof of address, and occasionally proof of payment method. I like to provide clear documents early so a future withdrawal is not postponed. The casino should explain these conditions in the account area or terms.

  • Bank cards: deposits are generally instant; withdrawals often need 3–5 business days.
  • Digital wallets: deposits are instant; withdrawals may come within 24 hours.
  • Wire transfers: deposits can require 1–3 business days; withdrawals may take several days.
  • Prepaid solutions: deposits are rapid; withdrawals are generally not available.

Transaction speed also depends on internal review and when I send the request. Weekends and public holidays can introduce delays. I confirm whether the casino itself charges withdrawal fees and what my payment provider might apply on top. Evaluating these details before depositing reduces frustration later and helps me select the fastest realistic option.

Types of Bonuses and Wagering Conditions

Bonuses only have value when I know the terms. Jack Casino may promote deposit matches, free spins, cashback, and reload offers based on the current campaign. The advertised amount is less important than the wagering requirement, eligible games, and time limits. I always view an offer as a set of conditions rather than free money.

Sign-Up Promotions

A welcome offer often pairs a deposit match with free spins. I check the match percentage, maximum bonus, qualifying deposit, and whether a code is needed. If a code is required, entering it after the deposit may not function. The official promotions page should show the current steps, so I use that version rather than relying on a summary.

Continuing Campaigns

Returning player offers may include reload bonuses, cashback, tournaments, or prize drops. Some campaigns demand opting in before wagering, while others apply automatically. Missing an opt-in step can invalidate the bonus. I check the individual campaign rules before playing so I am aware of the qualifying period and the exact prize structure.

  • Wagering requirement: how many times I have to bet the bonus before withdrawing.
  • Game contribution: slots may apply fully, while table games often count less.
  • Time limit: the window to complete wagering before the bonus expires.
  • Maximum bet rule: exceeding the per-spin cap can eliminate the bonus.
  • Payment restrictions: some e-wallets or prepaid methods may be not accepted.

Wagering requirements are the key calculation. If a bonus has a 35x requirement, I calculate the bonus amount by thirty-five to see the total wagering target. Game contribution affects this equation, especially for live dealer play. I perform this calculation before opting in, because a win that cannot be withdrawn is not worthwhile.

Gambling Safety Tools and Options

User safety matters equally with game variety. I search for spending and time controls before my first deposit. Jack Casino needs to offer features including deposit limits, loss limits, wager limits, session reminders, and self-exclusion. The exact names may differ, but the purpose is to let me set boundaries while I am still clear-headed.

Caps and Session Alerts

Deposit limits cap how much I can add within a chosen period. Loss limits halt play after a defined loss amount. Reality checks display a reminder after a set interval, indicating how long I have been playing. I employ these tools as planned boundaries, not as punishment. Establishing them early is simpler than attempting to fix a bad session later.

Pause and Voluntary Exclusion

A cooling-off period restricts access for a short window, such as a day, a week, or a month. Self-exclusion operates for a longer period and must apply to the account. I check how quickly the restriction starts and whether it extends to related sites. The responsible gambling page must explain the process without seeking to influence me to cancel.

These controls do not alter the house edge or promise anything. They exist to prevent a session from becoming worse than planned. If gambling ceases to be entertainment, I use the tools early. A good operator manages these requests quickly and keeps the process straightforward, without employing friction to dissuade a break.

Mobile Access and Hardware Compatibility

Most gaming now occurs on phones, so I test the mobile browser experience first. Jack Casino needs to resize the game lobby, cashier, and account pages for smaller screens. The same balance and login must follow my account across devices. A responsive browser site is often the easiest way to play without installing anything.

Browser Play

Browser play saves storage space and prevents app downloads. The main risk is connection instability, which can cut off live dealer rounds or bonus spins. I check how the site performs on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. Keeping the browser updated additionally minimizes loading problems, especially with newer game releases that are built on modern web technology.

Applications and Account Options

A dedicated app can improve speed and notifications, but it is not always necessary. If Jack Casino has an app, I contrast its controls with the browser version. Secure sign-in options such as biometric login are useful. Notifications ought to be customisable, because I don’t want promotional messages to interfere with responsible gambling reminders.

The mobile cashier ought to mirror the desktop experience closely. I check that deposit options, withdrawal limits, and transaction pages are readable and simple to navigate on a smaller screen. A poorly designed mobile cashier may cause input errors, so I test a small deposit before depending on a new device for a full session.

Table Games and Live Dealer Gaming

Table games attract players who seek more decision-making than slots deliver. I seek out blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker variants with straightforward rule sets. The betting limits carry more weight here because table minimums can be higher, notably at live tables. I always verify the limit before sitting at a table.

Digital table games are powered by software and let me control the pace. There is no dealer timer, which is beneficial when I want to ponder a hand. I carefully review blackjack rule variations. Whether the dealer holds on soft 17, whether surrender is permitted, and the natural payout can all alter the house edge.

Live dealer games stream a real table and croupier to my screen. They often go continuously or on fixed schedules. I check the interface for table limits, game history, and video quality settings. Live play usually move faster than some players anticipate, but it delivers a social, physical-casino atmosphere without leaving home.

Licensing, Security, and Equitable Gaming

I begin with licensing because it informs me who supervises the platform. A licensed operator must follow rules about player funds, privacy, and disputes. Jack Casino ought to display licensing information in its footer or about section. Rather than believing a logo, I try to verify the operating company and licence reference on the regulator’s public register.

Confirming the Licensing Details

The footer might show the regulatory body and a licence number. If the reference is not clickable, I look up the regulator’s website and submit the details manually. The entry must match the company that runs Jack Casino. Small mismatches may be harmless, but I ask support about anything unclear before making a deposit.

Data Protection and Independent Audits

A secure site employs encryption to protect personal and payment data. I seek the browser padlock and steer clear of submitting details over an insecure connection. Independently tested games provide confidence, because testing agencies check random number generators and payout fairness. I consider both encryption and audits as basic expectations rather than optional extras.

Fair play also hinges on clear terms. I search for age requirements, identity verification rules, and the complaint process. If an issue arises, a licensed platform usually offers a formal complaint route or an alternative dispute resolution option. I keep records of deposits, bonuses, and support replies in case I need to challenge a decision. reliable info

Slot Picking and Mechanical Details

Slots are typically the biggest part of the catalogue, so I go beyond themes. Return-to-player percentage and volatility affect how a game behaves over many spins. RTP is a theoretical long-term figure, not a short-term promise. A higher RTP can aid over thousands of rounds, but single sessions will still differ widely.

RTP, Volatility, and Game Planning

Volatility indicates how frequently and how big payouts typically are. Low-volatility slots commonly provide smaller but more frequent wins, which can suit a modest balance. High-volatility games might last longer without a return but may provide bigger spikes. I match volatility to the session I want: longer and slower, or shorter and higher risk.

I check the paytable before spinning. That screen reveals minimum and maximum bets, paylines or ways to win, wild symbols, scatters, and bonus triggers. If the minimum bet already feels too high for the session, I change to another title. The paytable often answers more valuable questions than the promotional description offers.

Bonus Features and Jackpot Games

Modern slots can feature free spins, cascading reels, expanding symbols, or feature-buy buttons. Feature-buy allows you to enter a bonus round directly, but it boosts the cost per action and can drain a balance quickly. I treat it as an entertainment spend, not a strategy. Checking the in-game rules shows exactly what the feature can provide.

  • Classic slots: simpler play, fewer paylines, lower feature complexity.
  • Video slots: story-driven bonus rounds and medium to high volatility.
  • Cascading slots: chain reactions may create multiple wins from one spin.
  • Progressive jackpots: a expanding prize that pays when the trigger condition is met.

What Sets Jack Casino Different and How to Begin

The standout feature is not a single game or bonus but instead how the experience fits together. I value a clear lobby, practical banking, readable terms, and accessible account controls. Jack Casino positions itself as a full online betting environment, so those routine steps should work without friction across desktop and mobile.

Account Setup Steps

  1. Open the official Jack Casino website from a secure connection.
  2. Create an account with accurate personal details, because discrepancies can delay verification.
  3. Verify your identity when the account area requests documents.
  4. Check the cashier for methods available in your jurisdiction.
  5. Consult the current welcome terms before depositing.

Initial Session Checklist

Before playing, I define a deposit limit and pick a game where my balance allows at least fifty spins or hands. I check whether a bonus is active and how it affects withdrawals. I also evaluate the mobile cashier with a small deposit if I plan to play on my phone. This preparation eliminates most common mistakes.

After the first session, I evaluate the casino on speed, clarity, and control instead of the result. Did the games load quickly? Were deposit times as expected? Could I find the responsible gambling tools? Short-term wins and losses indicate little about quality. Usability, fair terms, and reliable withdrawals are the more meaningful test.

I approach jackcasino as a full online

When Roger Ebert reviewed Bob Dylan’s 2003 box office bomb Masked and Anonymous, he blasted it on almost every front in a vicious one-star review, calling the film a “vanity production beyond all reason” with a screenplay he dismissed as “incoherent raving juvenile meanderings.”

The incredible cast — which included Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, John Goodman, Jessica Lange, Luke Wilson, Angela Bassett, Bruce Dern, Ed Harris, Val Kilmer, Cheech Marin, Chris Penn, Giovanni Ribisi, Mickey Rourke, Christian Slater, and many more stars — received not a word of praise.

“In a film where salaries must have been laughable, these people must have thought it would be cool to be in a Dylan movie,” Ebert wrote. “Some of them exude the aw-shucks gratitude of a visiting singer beckoned onstage at the Grand Ole Opry.”

But like the great prophet he was, Ebert did notice a single on-screen presence who managed to transcend this mess of a film. “Ironically, the credits do not name the one performer in the movie whose performance actually was applauded; that was a young black girl named Tinashe Kachingwe, who sings ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’’ with such sweetness and conviction that she is like a master class,” he wrote. “If I had been asked to serve as consultant on this picture, my advice would have amounted to three words: more Tinashe Kachingwe.”

It’s taken two decades, but the rest of the world has caught up with Roger Ebert. Tinashe’s eighth studio album, Popstar, came out on Sept. 25, and it’s instantly become one of this year’s most-celebrated pop releases. Singles “Too Easy”, “Crash Out”, “Melatonin,” and “Pillow Fight” have been everywhere, and so has Tinashe herself, memorably interacting with fans online as she reaches an artistic peak she’s been working toward for a while now. Right now, the moment belongs to Tinashe.

“I wanted to create a record that felt very confident and bold in its title, in its taking up space, in its arrival, like announcing that I’m here,” Tinashe recently told Rolling Stone’s Larisha Paul. “Calling the album Popstar, I felt like really claiming a spot for myself. I think that that level of confidence has also created more conversation, perhaps a little more pressure around the whole thing.”

Trending Stories

Anyone who could look Bob Dylan dead in the eyes as a 10-year-old and sing one of his most famous songs, as film cameras rolled, is no stranger to pressure. This should also cause some people to give Masked and Anonymous a second look. Sure, the story is incomprehensible, and Dylan is far from a great actor. But the assemblage of talent, including director Larry Charles, is quite remarkable. There are also many great musical moments, even if none quite top that star turn from a young Tinashe.

They left quite a lot of music on the cutting-room floor, and Dylan fans have been clamoring for a Masked and Anonymous Bootleg Series for years to hear the rest. And who knows, maybe there’s some more Tinashe in the Dylan vault. Just imagine what she could have done with “A Hard Rain’s A‐Gonna Fall” or “Masters of War.”

When Roger Ebert reviewed Bob Dylan’s 2003

THE SEATTLE FILM FESTIVAL 2026 REVIEW! Stockholm, written by co-stars Jenna Harwood and Lily Greenwald and directed by Kaitlyn Mikayla, runs 10 minutes and 26 seconds. It centers on erotic model Claire (Harwood). She started by giving in to men’s kinks on dating apps. Her roommate and best friend Skye (Greenwald) takes the photos and encourages the behaviour. It all seems to be good, sexy fun until Claire is kidnapped by a deranged fan named Leo (Josh Davis). After months of physical, mental, and sexual abuse, Claire returns home. However, adjusting to life outside Leo’s control proves far more difficult than anyone could have predicted.

The short is a psychological thriller with a lot to say. Harwood and Greenwald craft fun characters and then drop one of them into an unimaginable situation. The story is handled with care, never going too over-the-top nor losing focus on Claire and her headspace. The exploration of whether Claire actually wants to go back to Leo, or just needs more time to figure out how to think for herself again, is heavy but realistic.

Roommates Claire and Skye share snacks on the couch in Stockholm.

“It all seems to be good, sexy fun until Claire is kidnapped by a deranged fan named Leo.”

Mikayla directs with an eye toward horror and intensity. The basement the main character is confined to is creepy and cramped. Harwood is easy to root for and is fun. Davis is truly terrifying as a control freak with no morals. Their chemistry sells the awful situation and slow degradation of Claire’s mental state perfectly.

Stockholm explores the ideas around consent, kink, and when things cross a line wonderfully. The screenplay is smart enough to know that there aren’t any easy answers and lets viewers draw their own conclusions about what Claire will do. The directing keeps the tone intense and atmospheric while allowing the characters to feel authentic. All the actors give strong performances and play their roles well, no matter how awful, believably.

gerenommeerd Lucky Start Casino registratiebonus advertentie in Netherlands

If there’s one thing I’ll gladly outsource to technology without looking back, it’s cleaning. And thanks to smarter, quieter, and more innovative tech, we can now hand over a surprising amount of the grunt work to gadgets that genuinely make life easier (and dare I say, a little pleasurable to watch?). Here are my top picks for this latest round of smartest home helpers — all of them high-tech, thoughtfully designed, and worth your attention.

Robots that actually do the work

Let’s be honest: cleaning windows is right up there with scrubbing grout — necessary, but not enjoyable. The Winbot Mini changes that with a compact, ultra-thin design that can clean areas other robots can’t touch — even windows with handles or narrow side panels under 30 cm wide – which has been an issue with predecessor models. It sticks securely with suction and glides across glass, using smart navigation to map its path while avoiding edges and obstacles. Use it inside or out, and enjoy streak-free results without risking life, limb, or ladder. Really, how nice would it be to look out the window and watch that!

This is one of those “how did I live without it?” products. The Dreame L40 doesn’t just vacuum — it also mops, self-cleans, and empties its own bin. All you do is fill the clean-water tank and empty the dirty one occasionally; it handles the rest. With precision LiDAR mapping (read: lasers) and adaptive floor sensors, it glides effortlessly from tile to carpet, cleaning every inch efficiently. Through the app, you can set cleaning schedules, define no-go zones, or watch its progress in real time. It’s the ultimate time-saver for anyone who’d rather do literally anything else than clean floors. This is especially handy for pet parents and parents of young children.

Getting the cleanest clean

Let’s have the talk. Toilet paper is fine, but once you go bidet, you don’t go back. The TUSHY Classic 3.0 is the perfect beginner’s bidet — non-electric (so no outlet needed), super-easy to install, and equipped with a self-cleaning nozzle that rinses itself before and after every use. You’ll save money on TP, feel cleaner, and add a surprisingly luxe touch to your bathroom for under $150. And yes, you’ll probably start telling everyone about it, too.

Keyboards, car vents, window blinds — all those crumb-catching crevices finally meet their match. This compact powerhouse switches between blower and vacuum mode at up to 150,000 RPM (that’s literal jet-speed air) and recharges for easy use. Bring it with you camping or take it outside to clean your car, or keep it desk-side for computer cleans while you’re listening to on-hold music. Its Six interchangeable nozzles let you tackle everything from laptop ports to patio furniture, and it even inflates pool toys or air mattresses. No more canned air, no more excuses.

Steam cleaning is one of those “try it once and you’ll never stop” things. Truly, once you see what steam cleaning can do you’ll be sad you didn’t start sooner. The NEAT Plus generates pressurized, low-moisture steam hot enough to sanitize surfaces naturally — no harsh chemicals needed. People with allergies or asthma will especially benefit from this type of cleaning. It’s powerful yet gentle, meaning you can clean grout, sealed hardwood, upholstery, blast away built up grease, grime and gunk and sanitize pet areas safely. Since it uses just tap water, it’s eco-friendly, quick-drying, and oddly satisfying to use (seriously — watching grime melt off is quite the joy to experience).

Wrinkled blouses, musty coats, and dry-cleaning bills? Meet your new secret weapon. The LG Styler uses TrueSteam™ technology and gentle hanger vibration to refresh and sanitize clothes — even delicate fabrics — without detergent or heat damage. It eliminates 99.9% of bacteria, reduces allergens, and smooths wrinkles in under 20 minutes. Use it to sanitize blankets, pillows, and stuffies, dry coats and gloves after a wet day in the snow, or to dewrinkle your favourite blazer after a day of wear. This helps to extend the time between washes and trips to the drycleaner, too. It also features a touch screen, LG ThinQ app integration, and doesn’t require a water hookup, only an electrical outlet. Once you have one, you’ll find more excuses to use it.

David Ellison has emerged victorious. And he’s boldly — or arrogantly, if you prefer — decided to name the entertainment giant that he’s bolted together Skydance Corp., nodding to the original name of his film production firm that has swallowed up two Hollywood studios over the past 14 months.

Defying skeptics and beating back opponents, Ellison has harpooned his white whale in buying Warner Bros. Discovery. Now he has to prove that the $111 billion mega-merger can become a profitable entertainment powerhouse, and not just a vessel that will get sucked under by a massive whirlpool of debt.

As the closing of the deal — set to occur Tuesday, Oct. 6 — became a certainty, entertainment industry insiders started to come to grips with the reality that the enlarged company is a new and unpredictable force in town. The deal has been polarizing for the creative community, with many boldface names going public in their opposition to the merger. The new leadership team that Skydance is assembling under the direction of Ellison and Ynon Kreiz, just recruited from Mattel to serve as co-CEO, has to navigate that dynamic. And they must do it while walking a tightrope on Wall Street to pay down debt and grow profits across film, linear TV and streaming.

“They need to move as quickly as possible to get the leverage down,” says Jawad Hussain, managing director at S&P Global. “The biggest hurdle and the biggest thing we’re going to be keeping our eye on is integration and execution.” Two years ago, Hussain says, Skydance Meida was a small company that turned out a few films a year. “Now it’s managing one of the largest media companies. It’s not necessarily an easy task.”

It’s all been a whirlwind. On the morning of Sept. 30, Ellison still didn’t know if it was a done deal.

He had spent more than a year in his relentless pursuit of acquiring Warner Bros. and HBO. The WBD board rejected his takeover offers eight times. David Zaslav, Warner Bros. Discovery’s boss, ghosted Ellison in December 2025 after Netflix clinched a deal for WB’s streaming and studios business. But Ellison didn’t surrender; he finally outbid Netflix in February, with a $31/share offer that was nearly 2.5 times the stock price before the M&A frenzy kicked off. It was an offer WBD couldn’t refuse.

Ellison and his legal team, headed by former DOJ official Makan Delrahim, predicted the proposed Paramount-WB combo would easily clear regulatory approvals. In June, Trump’s Justice Department rubber-stamped the pact without attaching any conditions. All told, regulators in 68 jurisdictions worldwide cleared the merger with minimal pushback.

The last barricade in Ellison’s way? An antitrust lawsuit brought by 12 Democratic state attorneys general, led by California’s Rob Bonta. Ellison believed the litigation was politically motivated, stoked by fears he would try to turn CNN into a Trump-friendly mouthpiece. (He has repeatedly promised a hands-off approach to CNN’s news coverage.) But the AGs pressed their case and a federal judge agreed that their arguments — that Paramount-Warner Bros. would wield undue power in theatrical and basic cable markets — had merit. A trial was scheduled to begin in March 2027.

Frustrated and incredulous, Ellison let it be known through press leaks in August that he would pull Paramount out of California if the state AGs didn’t let him close the WB deal. Paramount insiders continue to insist the notion of Ellison’s Golden State exit wasn’t a bluff or a threat. Bonta, seeming to realize he would gain no political capital by derailing or delaying the merger, relented. Paramount and the AGs announced a settlement of the suit on Sept. 21 — with a list of concessions so lenient that it surprised not only industry watchers but also employees at both companies.

Now all that was left was the judge’s approval of the settlement. Worryingly for Ellison, U.S. District Court Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguin at a Sept. 24 hearing had left the door open to a potential further third-party review of the settlement at the behest of Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.). The groups behind the #BlockTheMerger coalition, which had amassed more than 5,700 signatories from actors, filmmakers and industry workers opposed to the deal, filed a brief with the court urging Martínez-Olguín to reject the settlement.

But on Sept. 30 at just after 12:30 p.m pacific time, the judge issued her ruling: She had approved the settlement.

The proposed consent decree, Martínez-Olguin wrote, reflects a “compromise that may leave some dissatisfaction for both sides and the public but a compromise that saves the risk, time and expense of litigating through trial.”

Boom! Teams at both companies swung into action to make the final preparations needed to close the deal. That evening, Paramount and WBD confirmed the merger’s expected closing date of Oct. 6, at which point Paramount’s common stock will move from Nasdaq to list on the New York Stock Exchange. The stock symbol will change from “PSKY” to “SKYD,” reflecting the Skydance corporate name.

Ellison is expected to lead a town hall meeting with employees next Tuesday, and Ellison and Kreiz are scheduled to host a virtual press briefing — along with the new Skydance’s executive leadership — at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 6.

Coincidentally, on Sept. 30 Ellison had been sitting on his own bit of hot news: He was ready to announce that he recruited media vet Kreiz to be co-CEO at the combined Paramount-WBD. The merged entity’s businesses will jointly report to Ellison and Kreiz.

Word of Kreiz’s joining Paramount trickled out earlier in the day, but Ellison had already decided to wait until after market close to announce it. Paramount put the release on the wire at 1:06 p.m., a little over half an hour after the judge OK’d the antitrust settlement.

Ellison triumphantly sent Paramount employees a companywide email about Kreiz’s hiring, timestamped at 1:18 p.m., praising the exec as a “proven builder and operator.” Kreiz, during his eight years at Mattel, had helped cut costs through layoffs — and oversaw its first theatrical release, 2023 blockbuster “Barbie.” He swung the company to profitability, but revenue has stubbornly stayed flat the last four years.
Ellison wrote in his email: “Together we are well positioned to integrate, operationalize and run the businesses as we build one of the most ambitious next-generation media companies in the industry’s history. Kreiz, as part of his compensation package, will receive $31.5 million in fully vested stock as a signing bonus with the merger close.

Then on Friday, Oct. 2, Ellison shared on X that the new corporation would be … Skydance. His post included a sizzle reel of the combined company’s biggest hits, leading off with a clip from “Titanic” — an inauspicious choice, perhaps, given how that infamous voyage turned out.

“Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture,” Ellison wrote. “By combining them, we aren’t rewriting history — we’re equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling.”

Three years ago, Ellison was primarily known as a rich kid — scion of Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison, one of the world’s richest people — and a semi-successful movie producer, most notably with 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick,” which turned in a boffo $1.5 billion at the box office. Now, having bagged Warner Bros., he can lay claim to being a titan in the business and no mere nepo baby.

“Ellison stared down the attorneys general and won. He stared down the unions and won,” says Prof. Erik Gordon of University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. “You can’t see David Ellison as daddy’s boy anymore. He’s a formidable force in the industry.”

The Paramount-WBD merger is the biggest M&A deal in Hollywood history. It brings together two of Hollywood’s biggest movie studios, HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming services dand TV brands including CBS, CNN, MTV, TBS, Comedy Central, Food Network and more. The new company’s entertainment franchises span Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and other HBO hits, the DC superhero universe, “Yellowstone,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Top Gun” and the Nickelodeon kids’ empire.

“We still have work to do before the deal closes, and nothing changes until it does,” Ellison told employees in his memo about Kreiz.

But even before the deal closed, the company’s new leadership was taking shape. Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, co-heads of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, will leave post-merger, sources told Variety. Paramount film heads Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein are in line to oversee both movie studios.

With the deal close, Zaslav is expected to depart — with a boatload of money. Zaslav stands to earn at least $550 million in stock and cash once the Paramount-WBD deal closes, including $34.2 million in cash severance payments, per the terms of his “golden parachute” package.

Skydance’s settlement-related obligations around theatrical film and the operation of its Paramount and Warner Bros. cable channels will undoubtedly have ripple effects in the marketplace that extend well beyond the U.S. Showbiz leaders in Europe have closely watched the transaction at a time when local-language production is at a peak thanks to the influence of Netflix, Amazon and Disney+. HBO has a growing international footprint that will be crucial to Skydance’s future growth.

Pierre-Antoine Capton, chairman of France’s Mediawan, says the broader film and TV business is in line for a bumpy few years amid the shakeout of what he calls “a period of intense consolidation” of media assets. Mediawan bought Peter Chernin’s North Road Company earlier this year. It’s also circling Lionsgate as a potential acquisition.

“Having spoken with David, I believe his vision is first and foremost an artistic, creative ambition,” Capton says of the Skydance merger. “He wants to build a more powerful group in order to invest in creation. It’s not only about making cuts. I believe in his commitment to cinema and to theatrical releases.” At the same time, “everywhere in the world we’re entering a much more difficult phase, where consolidation will be, in my view, one of the solutions to the economic problems we’re all going to face,” Capton says.

Ellison and Kreiz will also be under pressure to deliver a clear roadmap for generating bigger profits from its streaming pillars, HBO Max and Paramount+.

Casey Bloys, head of WBD’s HBO, is poised to assume oversight of the combined Paramount-Warner Bros. streaming business after Cindy Holland announced on Sept. 29 to staffers that she was stepping down from her role running Paramount+ and other direct-to-consumer businesses.

Holland’s resignation blindsided some senior managers at Paramount, who thought Ellison had hired her for the long haul. “We all thought we had the home-court advantage — that David was bringing all the new people at Paramount to have them be part of Warner Bros.,” a company insider says.

Paramount+ and HBO Max will together have more than 200 million subscribers. The newly merged Skydance can save money by consolidating its back-end streaming infrastructure. But “you don’t want to immediately combine the two streaming services because people won’t pay the sum of the two subscription prices,” says Prof. Sridhar Tayur of Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. For the foreseeable future, HBO Max and Paramount+ will continue as discrete brands.

Another area to watch: what Ellison does with CNN, which throws off operating cash that Skydance Corp. will need to bolster its finances. Ellison has held preliminary talks with CNN chief Mark Thompson about staying on after the merger, sources tell Variety. The prospect of Thompson continuing at the helm, at least for now, came as a relief to CNN personnel, who have been worried that Bari Weiss, the “anti-woke” media entrepreneur Ellison put in charge of CBS News, might extend her fiefdom to include the news cabler.

Under the settlement with the 12-state coalition, the merged Paramount-Warner Bros. will be subject to monitoring by a “news editorial independence board.” The board, which will include representatives from the states, will establish which will establish “guiding editorial and journalism principles” for CNN and CBS News. But critics have dismissed this as a toothless condition. One player displeased with this outcome was Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, who, although he signed off on the settlement, said afterward he had advocated for a full divestiture of CNN and CBS News.

Foes of ParaBros remain hopping mad. Actor Mark Ruffalo, one of the deal’s most strident critics, has vowed to continue the fight. “This merger will stifle creativity, weaken free speech and cost people their jobs — it is a bad deal for this country and should never have been approved,” he said in a social media post Sept. 30.

Ruffalo’s feud with Paramount got ugly. On Aug. 21, he posted a message warning about the dangers of the Paramount-WB merger and alleged Larry Ellison’s Oracle was complicit in “what we now have come to see as a genocide” by the Israeli government against Palestinians. Paramount responded forcefully. A company rep asserted the “antisemitic tropes” Ruffalo invoked “aren’t just wrong — they’re a bridge too far.” Ruffalo has been set to reprise his role as an FBI agent in a second season of HBO’s “Task” crime drama. It remains to be seen if Ellison will let bygones be bygones.

Apart from the shouting, the biggest burning questions about the new entity are about its financial condition.

How is Paramount buying Warner Bros. Discovery, which has a market cap that’s six times larger? Paramount is issuing billions in debt securities and securing new loans to help foot the bill. Larry Ellison is bankrolling the WBD merger to the tune of $46.7 billion in equity financing. Paramount also lined up about $24 billion in commitments from the sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. In April, Paramount said the three Middle Eastern funds will own 38.5% of the combined entity, but that they will have no board seats or governance representation.

The new company will be controlled by the Ellison family alongside Gerry Cardinale, founder and managing partner of RedBird Capital Partners. Cardinale’s firm is also pitching in equity for the WBD deal, after funding Skydance’s Paramount Global takeover.

The new company’s net debt is estimated to be more than $80 billion. That staggering amount would translate into annual interest payments topping $6 billion. Add to that the fact that Paramount-WB, under the settlement with the AGs, is obligated to invest at least $300 million more on film production in the U.S. annually (above what the studios combined spent in 2025).

Paramount execs have told Wall Street they can achieve $6 billion in cost savings through the merger. But not everyone thinks there’s $6 billion in cost savings to be squeezed out without negative consequences. There are obvious areas of overlap in corporate functions like IT, marketing, procurement and legal. But a big risk in executing a media merger of this scale is cutting into bone — resulting in the loss of creative professionals who are essential to the enterprise, says Prof. Tammy Madsen, a professor of management at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.

“Creativity matters,” Madsen says. “If you are too aggressive in eliminating redundancies in the creative parts of the company, you could kill the value.”

Ellison, after the final clearance for the merger came through, wasn’t exactly popping the Champagne just yet. But he did, apparently, pop open some breakfast burritos.

On Oct. 1 — out of nowhere — employees on the Paramount Studios lot in L.A. and at the company’s offices Burbank were welcomed with buffet breakfasts: French toast, pancakes, egg burritos, shakes, berry bowls, chia pudding and more. One insider says it was the first time they had ever seen the company put out that kind of spread.

Perhaps it was more like a peace offering, coming before the pain of a first wave of layoffs at the new Skydance expected before the end of the year. The merger could result in the loss of some 4,500 film and TV jobs over three years in L.A. alone, according to a report issued by Los Angeles County in August. Insiders believe layoffs will continue with further rounds into 2027.

There’s no way around the fact that thousands of employees across the former Paramount and WBD are about to get pink-slipped. But Ellison is betting that through the crucible of consolidation, a stronger company will emerge. “We have big goals for Skydance,” he wrote in his post on X about the new name, “and we intend to pursue them with passion, imagination and a willingness to take smart risks.”

Philanthropist Olga Rabinovich will receive the inaugural Prêmio Encontros (Encounters Award) at this year’s Encontro de Ideias Audiovisuais, the industry platform of the São Paulo International Film Festival. The award honors her enduring commitment to advancing Brazilian cinema and elevating the international profile of Brazilian film and talent through her work with Projeto Paradiso.

The Encounters Award was created to spotlight the transformative role of private investment in culture, bringing together private funders and the creative professionals behind audiovisual productions. The inaugural honor will be bestowed upon Rabinovich during the event’s opening gala ceremony on Oct. 14 and ahead of an in-conversation event with Neon president Jeff Deutchman.

Born in São Paulo, Rabinovich spent years volunteering in hospitals, working closely with terminally ill patients. In 2018, she founded the Olga Rabinovich Institute, launching Projeto Paradiso soon after. The initiative is dedicated to the advancement of the Brazilian audiovisual sector and grew out of her belief that “stories can change the world,” as well as a decision to invest in the people who create them and want to share them with audiences worldwide.

“Olga Rabinovich is the first recipient of the newly created Prêmio Encontros, because she was the inspiration behind the award,” said Renata de Almeida, director of the São Paulo International Film Festival. I first heard Olga’s name in early 2018, when Josephine Bourgois came to see me about someone from the private sector who wanted to create an institute dedicated to cinema. The Olga Rabinovich Institute was announced during the 42nd Mostra, bringing a breath of hope at a time that promised to be particularly difficult for Brazilian film and culture.”

“Eight years later, Projeto Paradiso, an initiative of the Olga Rabinovich Institute, has already made a major contribution to discovering and championing a new generation of talent, strengthening Brazil’s audiovisual sector as a whole,” continued the director. “Projeto Paradiso has an outstanding professional team, as its results clearly demonstrate. But the image that stays with me is of a meeting with Olga, climbing the winding stairs of our little building for a somewhat chaotic coffee in the festival’s office. Because, in the end, almost everything really does begin with an encounter.”

Earlier this year, Variety sat down with the philanthropist ahead of the third Projeto Paradiso National Network Meeting in Brazil’s buzzy production hub of Recife. Rabinovich said she “loved the idea of supporting cinema because I feel it is a magical art form.” “You enter a screening room without knowing whether you’ll be elated or disturbed or moved. It’s a transformative experience. I think it’s incredible to have a communal artistic experience that moves you like this.”

Projeto Paradiso offers a wide range of support to Brazilian screen professionals to maximize their presence on the global stage, supporting the development of stories through fellowships, residencies, workshops, and other training and international reach initiatives. The Paradiso Talent Network now comprises 278 Brazilian professionals.

The organization also helps connect Brazilian talent and projects with the international industry through a network of more than 250 partner institutions in Brazil and abroad, including the Hubert Bals Fund, La Fabrique Cinéma de l’Institut français, TorinoFilmLab, Film Independent and the Sundance Institute.

The initiative was recently behind buzzy festival titles such as Allan Deberton’s Berlinale-winning “Gugu’s World” and Grace Passô’s “Our Secret,” and boasts a talent network of 264 professionals, including Anita Rocha da Silveira (“Medusa”), Juliana Rojas (“Good Manners”) and Dira Paes (“Manas”).

In 2025 Projeto Paradiso teamed with the Embratur Brazilian Tourism Board to launch Screen Brasil, offering four Brazilian films a year in two calls – the latest of which closed Oct. 2 supporting their international distribution campaigns, submissions being made by the international sales agent holding the film’s commercial rights. Announced at Cannes Marché du Film this May, films backed to date take in Gabriel Mascaro’s “The Blue Trail,” Rafaela Camelo’s “The Nature of Invisible Things” and animated feature “Papaya.”

Projeto Paradiso’s relationship with the São Paulo International Film Festival dates back to 2018, when the philanthropy initiatve was launched during the festival’s 42nd edition. Since then, Projeto Paradiso has steadily expanded its presence at the festival.

Since 2023, it has presented the annual Paradiso Distribution Support Award, providing a distribution grant for the theatrical release of a fiction feature. In 2024, Projeto Paradiso was also one of the driving forces behind a new partnership with the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF), which led to the creation of HBF+Brazil following initial discussions at Encontro de Ideias.

The 50th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival runs Oct. 15-29.

Chris Harrison, reality television personality best known for hosting The Bachelor from 2002 to 2021, is making waves again. During those five years, he spent time working alongside Dr. Phil’s network, Merit Street Media, in addition to co-hosting a morning show with his wife, Lauren Zima. Following his 2021 Bachelor scandal, fans never expected to see him helping people find love again. But he surprised the world when he announced he was tapped to lead a new reality dating show.

As of March 2024, fans only knew this about this new hosting project: “It has dating elements in it, but this is so different and so novel,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It is flipping the script in a way that I think people are gonna become addicted to it in a week. It is unbelievable.”

On October 1, 2026, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Warner Bros. isn’t a fan of Chris Harrison reclaiming his hosting role. The September 16, 2026, teaser for The Vow marked Chris Harrison’s return to the reality dating TV world, and it created a massive wave. If I’m being honest, I don’t agree with Warner Bros. I’m on Chris Harrison’s side that he isn’t “riding the coattails of Bachelor Nation.” Especially when the Bachelor franchise faced its own scandal that resulted in not airing Taylor Frankie’s Bachelorette season.

Chris Harrison makes waves

I admit I cracked up at Warner Bros. starting a legal battle with Fox Nation and Chris Harrison. Warner Bros. having beef with him for hosting a new reality dating show is unexpected, as there are so many reality TV shows about dating: Love Island, Love is Blind, Married at First Sight, and so many more. Yet, Warner Bros. is claiming Chris Harrison’s new show, The Vow, is copying The Bachelor franchise shows. What makes it even more interesting is the claim is based off a 30-second teaser.

The Vow’s teaser description gives us little about the show but pulls viewers in to wait for what’s to come next month on Fox Nation. “Don’t miss Fox Nation’s first original dating series, premiering on November 11! Hosted by longtime reality television personality Chris Harrison, the series marks his highly anticipated return to the relationship genre. At a time when much of modern dating culture is driven by fleeting connections and social media attention, the series offers a different approach by placing the focus on meaningful relationships, commitment, and building a life together.”

While The Vow’s teaser features a man in a tuxedo and a rose, I don’t think The Bachelor franchise owns those elements in dating or in television. Especially since it isn’t the first, nor will it be the last depiction of a tuxedo and a rose in a dating-centered project.

As much as I love The Bachelor franchise, Chris Harrison made the reality show what it came to be. One can argue that Chris Harrison will always be the true pioneer for making the show what it is now.

Warner Bros. admitted to making the claims without seeing the series while also claiming they don’t mind Fox Nation and Chris Harrison collaborating on a dating show. Yet, they hold tight to the notion that Harrison and Fox Nation are building a new show on the back of a successful dating show franchise.

Let me remind you: The Bachelor franchise has been around for 24 years and has competed for viewership all of those years. Yet, when Chris Harrison announces his return and the show’s concept, the networks start throwing legal letters at the other network. Something doesn’t make sense here. Why go after a show that hasn’t released yet when there are plenty of reality dating shows airing and off the air for Warner Bros. to go after?

As much as they claim they have no issue with a brand-new dating show or Chris Harrison hosting it, I don’t think the legal actions would be happening if someone else were hosting. With the backdrop and show concept, it reminds the network of the show they built from the ground up. Again, they built it from the ground up with Chris Harrison at the helm. He was the face of The Bachelor shows, and now he’s going to be the face of The Vow. In my opinion, I’m seeing jealousy of Harrison thriving as The Bachelor franchise fades into the background.

What can fans expect from The Vow?

In a statement earlier this month, Harrison shared his excitement for returning to television to help people find love alongside Fox Nation. Turns out, they were “inspired by the faith-driven renaissance happening across America,” and wanted to create something that resonated with the changing world. Many people know that modern dating isn’t easy, nor is it face-to-face 80 percent of the time. Harrison wants to bring dating back in a way that makes people ask the important question: Can genuine, lasting love still be found in the modern world?

He teases that “the stakes couldn’t be higher. I’m incredibly proud and honored to put my name on this show.”

Reality Dating TV isn’t fading away, but it is bringing back Chris Harrison at the helm and giving people a whole new chance at love. The logline reads, “Jace Cates, 30, will lead The Vow as he navigates dating 10 women who are each seeking lasting commitment and marriage. Through curated dates and real-world compatibility challenges, the show explores whether shared values, faith, communication, and long-term goals can build a relationship designed to last long after the cameras stop rolling. At a time when much of modern dating culture is driven by fleeting connections and social media attention, the series offers a different approach by placing the focus on meaningful relationships, commitment, and building a life together.”

Fox Nation’s The Vow hosted by Chris Harrison premieres November 11.

Chris Harrison, reality television personality best known

Marc Bamuthi JosephGuest contributor

Like any other building from 1971, or a democracy created in 1776, the Kennedy Center could use some attention and possibly some structural repair. But I was a vice president at that arts center in Washington, and I can tell you that maintenance is almost certainly not why it closed its doors last month.

Officially, it’s closed because a section of the Grand Foyer ceiling gave way in a storm, plaster crashing to the floor, and the building needed to be shut down for safety. The Justice Department itself has argued in court filings that there is no real emergency requiring the closure. The board, meanwhile, has approved a quarter-billion-dollar renovation plan, put together without competitive bidding, while the president muses openly about tearing the building down altogether if his own name isn’t affixed to it. This administration is effectively bulldozing arts infrastructure in an attempt to abolish an infrastructure of the imagination.

I watch all of this from the outside now. When the new “leadership” took over last year, my team and I were among the first let go. My department worked on free public programming, on creative equity, on cross-sector community development and on measuring the social impact of art. That we were among the first out the door probably tells you everything you need to know about who was put in charge of the place.

As an American, as an artist and as a former member of its labor force, I understand that the Kennedy Center is more than a building. It is a living memorial to a president who was taken from us too soon, a man who had the audacity to aim for the moon before the science existed to get us there. To honor that kind of visionary, this country built a center for the creative impossible, and gave it his name.

And true to that name, my job at the Kennedy Center was to investigate the correlation between the arts economy and the economy of civic aspiration. As a team, we believed that inspiration erodes apathy and yields empathy. The building is a container of federal infrastructure, but the arts that imbue the Kennedy Center make the argument that inspiration itself is part of the infrastructure of our democracy. An arts center is built to ask: “What are the conditions necessary to dream together in public?”

Who, if not artists, are the authors of the public imagination? When a baby is born, or your daughter gets married, do you read a piece of legislation to commemorate the occasion or do you quote a poem, or dedicate a song? Who, if not artists, might light the path to a post-fear economy?

So why invade an arts center? What could possibly be gained by shuttering a national citadel for creative excellence? How perverse that a president whose policies have underfunded education and the arts would gut a national sanctuary for curiosity, and then demand that his name be emblazoned on the shell of what was. This president has used executive orders to intimidate artists, banned writers and journalists, sabotaged arts education, created oppressive red lines within the National Endowment for the Arts and threatened philanthropic organizations that fund arts and culture, and then he turns around and wants his name on our national cultural center.

When I worked there, the Kennedy Center wasn’t perfect. No institution is. But the business was viable, the staff was talented and reliable, and the work we made together would, often enough, touch something close to the sublime. Our job, like those of so many arts workers across the country, was to activate creative magic in service of social cohesion and well-being.

This is what gets lost in the noise of storms and lawsuits and renovation budgets: Entertainment is everywhere, but inspiration is rare. Sometimes you are sitting in a dark theater with strangers and the right note gets struck, and you hear it with your ears but you feel it somewhere else entirely. In the gut and heart. And the person next to you, a stranger, feels it too, at the exact same moment. You can practically feel the room change. All that magic can happen in one theater, and the Kennedy Center has nine of them. If a solar panel uses the energy of the sun to power a building, an intentionally run theater can use the energy of its inspired audiences to power a city.

Art holds memory. It also holds the horizon, the sense of what a country could still become. Patriotism as enacted by the creative community takes the American experiment seriously enough to question, examine, remember what we’ve forgotten and catalyze collective American dreaming. That is what the Kennedy Center was named for: a president who dreamed of a country unafraid of beauty, unafraid of grace.

Thankfully, America’s creative labor force tirelessly stewards that sense of creative provocation and patriotic inquiry. It is alive everywhere, including in the work of individual artists such as Carrie Mae Weems or in the work of collectives such as For Freedoms and their “America, the Beautiful” initiative.

We, the chronically underwhelmed citizenry of the United States, can’t afford one less pillar of creativity. We should be fighting to reconstitute any and all artistic institutions with an eye toward an inspired future.

Marc Bamuthi Joseph, a spoken-word artist and actor, was vice president for social impact at the Kennedy Center.

A new listing revealed the official runtimes for VisionQuest‘s first two episodes will break a key record. Following this year’s seasons of Wonder Man, Daredevil: Born Again, and X-Men ’97, Marvel Television will soon deliver its final release of the year, VisionQuest, which will run weekly from October 14 to November 25. The studio recently made a surprising change to VisionQuest‘s release schedule, confirming that the first two episodes will now start streaming on day one.

Before VisionQuest comes to Disney+ on Wednesday, October 14, a lucky few fans will get a taste of the WandaVision sequel early, and not just the press. The British Film Institute (BFI) will officially premiere VisionQuest‘s first two episodes at the London Film Festival on Monday, October 12, and the event listing confirmed that the opening chapters total 97 minutes, a record-breaking length.

Marvel Television

Averaging out at 48.5 minutes per episode, VisionQuest is officially arriving with the longest two-episode premiere in the WandaVision trilogy. At the start, WandaVision was still leaning heavily on its multi-era sitcom premise and hadn’t yet revealed its reality-bending storyline, so the runtimes represent that.

The 97-minute total is 26 minutes longer than the WandaVision trilogy’s first two chapters, which lasted 71 minutes, including 10 minutes of credits per episode, bringing their actual length down to the 51-minute mark. It’s unclear whether VisionQuest‘s officially listed runtimes factor in credits, and, if so, how much.

WandaVision and Agatha All Along were both created by Jac Schaeffer and spanned nine magic-fueled episodes, launching with a double-episode premiere. The opening chapters culminated with Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness and her witchy coven finally reaching the Witches’ Road.

Across those episodes, Agatha recovered her memories after WandaVision, met Joe Locke’s Billy Maximoff (unknowingly), and assembled her coven for the road. They totaled to 87 minutes with the credits and 77 minutes without, once again making it significantly shorter than its sci-fi successor VisionQuest.

Marvel Television

VisionQuest may have the longest debut yet for the WandaVision trilogy, which has leaned into shorter episodes, but it isn’t an MCU-wide record breaker. The longest two-episode opening goes to Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 at 110 minutes, dropping to around 100 minutes when excluding credits.

Even compared to the other MCU show with a two-episode premiere, Hawkeye, the street-level crime tale began with a 104-minute double release, or more realistically, 90 minutes once the excess of credits is shaved away.

Depending on how long the credits hog out of VisionQuest‘s opening, it may be similar in runtime to Hawkeye‘s premiere, as recent MCU TV shows tend to have shorter credits than in 2021, when Marvel Studios was just starting out on Disney+.

VisionQuest’s Longer Runtimes Are Exactly What the WandaVision Trilogy Needed

Let’s say, hypothetically, VisionQuest maintained the 48.5-minute-per-episode runtime average from the first two installments; the eight-episode series would run for 7 hours, 28 minutes. That would exceed the runtimes of WandaVision and Agatha All Along by over an hour, despite having one fewer episode, and become the second-longest MCU Disney+ series, behind Daredevil: Born Again.

VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas previously teased that each episode is “very different” and resembles “different types of movies,” effectively copying WandaVision‘s successful structure. While each of VisionQuest‘s eight episodes is unlikely to be as different as WandaVision‘s “sitcoms through the years” style, it will certainly keep audiences guessing about what to expect week to week.

While WandaVision and Agatha All Along were beloved, many agreed that both could have benefited from longer runtimes to flesh out their supporting casts, avoid pacing issues, and delve deeper into their magical concepts. VisionQuest should rectify that issue, allowing more time to explore its high-concept sci-fi elements and pick up with characters who haven’t been seen in years.

It must be noted that the BFI listing only confirms the runtimes for VisionQuest‘s first two episodes; the length of the remaining six is pure speculation. There is always the chance that episodes in the middle and end run shorter, with the early episodes utilizing that extra time to open up this new corner of the MCU.

2027’s Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to 2025’s Superman, will replace Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor as the main villain, but luckily for the audience, the new antagonist will be better in multiple aspects. James Gunn’s new DCU is off and running, as multiple TV shows and films have been released within the franchise. Following the success of Superman, DC Studios and Warner Bros. announced that a direct sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow, would be released on July 9, 2027.

A lot of details regarding Man of Tomorrow have been kept under wraps, but it was confirmed that the main villain of the upcoming movie will be Brainiac. He is a DC supervillain who fans have long wanted to see properly on-screen in live action, especially in a franchise with the budget and overarching story of the DCU. Notably, Brainiac (played by German actor Lars Eidinger) will take Lex Luthor’s place from the first Superman film, as Lex was the main villain of that entry.

DC Studios

It is important to note that Lex will still play a major role in Man of Tomorrow. However, he won’t be viewed as the big bad like he was in the first movie.

DC Studios has not revealed exactly how Brainiac will factor into the story or what the DCU’s version of the character will be like, and fans likely won’t find out until the film is released. However, if Man of Tomorrow presents a Brainiac similar to his portrayal in the comics, he will be a much better villain for Superman than Lex Luthor was.

How Brainiac Will Be a Better Superman Villain Than Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor was an objectively good villain in Superman. He directly opposed the Man of Steel and pushed him to his limits multiple times, proving to be compelling on multiple fronts.

However, Brainiac is going to be better in a few ways, and one of those has to do with the fact that Brainiac has superpowers. Lex Luthor is just a regular person. Yes, he is intelligent and has resources that make him formidable, but in Superman, he didn’t actually face off against Superman because he would have had no chance of even landing a hit on him (the two will seemingly fight in Man of Tomorrow, though).

Superman and Brainiac fighting in the comics.
DC Comics

In Brainiac’s case, he has literal superpowers, meaning that fans will likely see one-on-one fights between him and Superman. In the comics, Superman and Brainiac have fought multiple times and developed quite a rivalry, as both characters are extremely powerful.

Like Lex, Brainiac has minions that serve him and are capable of fighting in his stead, but Man of Tomorrow has the potential to feature a major brawl between the main protagonist and villain, which is something that Superman lacked.

It is also worth mentioning that Brainiac’s inclusion in Man of Tomorrow presents the possibility of much higher personal stakes for Clark Kent. Superman established that Clark’s birth parents were people he looked up to and wanted to make proud, even though they were dead.

However, Lex Luthor revealed that Clark’s parents were actually evil Kryptonians who wanted him to be a conqueror, which dealt a massive personal blow to the Man of Steel.

While that narrative presented high personal stakes for Superman, Brainiac could go even farther in Man of Tomorrow. Specifically, in DC lore, Brainiac is known for possessing Kandor, Krypton’s capital city. Since Krypton was Clark’s home planet and was destroyed, the fact that the planet’s capital city still exists could greatly affect Clark and his motivations.

DC Comics

Once Superman learns of Brainiac having a remnant of Krypton, it could make Superman fight even harder. Obviously, this would pose great personal stakes for Clark and push him beyond his own superhuman limits. While not confirmed, it could also bring out a side of Clark that was not seen in Superman.

If that were to happen, and the personal stakes were raised in Man of Tomorrow thanks to the actions of Brainiac, it would undoubtedly make the upcoming villain feel a bit more formidable than Lex Luthor was.

Another major way Brainiac will be an upgrade over Lex Luthor is that he is an intergalactic villain. The DC umbrella deals with threats and characters far beyond Earth, but much of that has not yet been explored in the DCU. While Superman is from Krypton, the Superman film largely took place on Earth and featured a human villain in Lex Luthor.

Brainiac with wires connected to him in the comics.
DC Comics

Man of Tomorrow, on the other hand, will introduce Brainiac, who will expand the scope of the DCU, as he is not human and not from Earth.

This could open the door to more intergalactic threats in the DCU and broaden the scope of the franchise in the future. In short, it would make it easier for future projects to take place on other planets or feature different races.

Specifically, it could even be explained in Man of Tomorrow that Brainiac has already been involved with other species from DC lore, such as the Thanagarians or the Martians. If that were to happen, Brainiac could be a gateway for those species (and others) to be featured in the DCU.

A now-pulled age rating for Grand Theft Auto 6 has revealed that the game features sex scenes and the ability to carry and use drugs, in addition to a “high degree” of gore.

Europe’s PEGI rating board published its 18 rating for GTA 6 on Friday, along with detailed descriptions of the game’s most sensitive content, although it was quickly pulled from the board’s website.

According to the now-pulled rating, GTA 6 features violence that is “bloody with a high degree of realism”, with certain weapons being able to cause greater damage, “such as detailed decapitation and dismemberment”.

According to PEGI, the game features drug use that is “frequent and prominent,” with the player being able to “partake in drug use with others and to use illegal drugs directly from their inventory”.

“Most notably, cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time,” PEGI says.

GTA 6 also features strong sexual themes, according to the ratings board, including “nudity, scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes”.

“In various nightclubs, the player can also pay for private dances, during which the game allows the player to move their hands onto the dancers’ breasts and buttocks,” it says.

GTA 6 has been rated M for Mature

In addition to the above, PEGI says that domestic animals are present in the game and can be harmed by the player, “however this does not produce the same injury detail that can be generated towards human characters”.

The PEGI 18 rating for Grand Theft Auto 6 comes days after GTA 6 received its official ESRB rating, which confirmed an “M for Mature.” The game is due to release next month, on November 19.

Before its full reveal in a recent Netflix special, a former Grand Theft Auto developer claimed that online leaks were “far less consequential” to developer Rockstar than the infamous ‘Hot Coffee’, an infamous sex mini-game uncovered in the code of GTA San Andreas after its 2004 release, which resulted in intense legal backlash and a warning from the FTC.

“I was there during Hot Coffee,” the developer wrote. “It was a nightmare for management (R*NewYork) but didn’t affect us (R*North) much. The current leaks are far less consequential than HC was. “It looks like GTA 6 will be phenomenal and sell for the next 15 years or so. The leaks are just a tiny blip.”
