Taylor Swift’s game-changing album ‘1989’ gets (Taylors Version)

1989 (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift the fourth of six (Taylor’s Version) projects, that include Fearless (2021), Red (2021) and Speak Now (2023) was released on October 27, exactly nine years after the release of the original album in 2014.

Taylor described 1989 as her first “official pop album”, “I look at this album,” she said at the time to Billboard, “as me starting over.” The album was an instant sucess with hit singles like “Blank Space”, “Shake It Off” and “Bad Blood” topping Billboard’s hot 100 at the time. With “Style” and “Wildest” dreams making it to the top 10.

The re recorded version includes a total of 21 songs. This includes the 13 songs from the original 1989 album.

1. “Welcome to New York”

2. “Blank Space”

3. “Style”

4. “Out of the Woods”

5. “All You Had to Do Was Stay”

6. “Shake It Off”

7. “I Wish You Would”

8. “Bad Blood”

9. “Wildest Dreams”

10. “How You Get the Girl”

11. “This Love”

12. “I Know Places”

13. “Clean”

“1989” was a gamechanging album in Swift’s career and the music industry, in the way it cemented her as a country and pop queen and as somone who made her own music on her own terms.

The three bonus tracks from the deluxe edition of “1989” are also included in (Taylor’s Version).

14. “Wonderland”

15. “You Are in Love”

16. “New Romantics”

This album also includes five never before heard, vaulted tracks, written by Taylor herself but scrapped from the original 2014 version. Taylor’s version of “1989” features

17. “Is It Over Now?”

18. “Now That We Don’t Talk”

19. “Say Don’t Go”

20. “Suburban Legends”

21. “Slut”

Considering each time Taylor has released her own re recorded version of one of her albums it has not failed to reach massive numbers in streaming and album sales. Now the only question is What kind of an impact will 1989 have, especially at a time when Taylor Swift is at the peak of her career.

With her record breaking Eras tour selling out domestically and internationally, Taylor officially entering her billionaire era with a net worth of $1.1 Billion, Cruel Summer having reached number one on the billboard charts 4 years after its release, the newly released ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ and of course on a personal note, Taylor and Travis Kelce being the talk of the town, we truly are in THE Taylor Swift Era.
