Heated Rivalry Completes 16-for-16 Canadian Screen Awards Sweep

What started as an impressive winning streak has officially become a historic sweep.

After dominating the Canadian Screen Awards’ Scripted Television gala with 13 wins, Heated Rivalry returned to the main Canadian Screen Awards ceremony on May 31 and added three more trophies to its growing collection, bringing its total to an incredible 16 wins from the 16 categories it was nominated in. The show had a total of 18 nominations. Heated Rivalry broke the record for most Canadian Screen Awards won by a single production.

Among the night’s biggest victories were Best Drama Series and Best Lead Performer, Drama Series for Hudson Williams who earned widespread praise for his portrayal of Shane Hollander. Williams became the youngest person to win the award at only 25. The show also won the Cogeco Fund Audience Choice Award making it a complete sweep.

The show’s creator Jacob Tierney also won Best Directing and Best Writing at the Scripted Television Gala.
