Ezra Miller Pleads Not Guilty to Burglary, May Face 26 Years in Prison

On May 1st, Ezra Miller—known for their roles of The Flash in the DCEU and Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts franchise—allegedly broke into a residence in Stamford, VT. After investigations took place, the Vermont State Police found that the property was missing liquor bottles, and the homeowners were not present at the time when their residence was broken into.

Miller has a charge of petit larceny and burglary into an occupied home, and the police charged them with felony burglary. Though they pled ‘Not Guilty’, if convicted, they may face a maximum $1,000 fine and 25 years in prison for the felony burglary. The larceny charge is a maximum $1,000 fine and one year in prison.

Ezra Miller’s Concerning Track Record

The Vermont incident is just one of several attached to Ezra Miller; as stated in an earlier article, “on March 28, Miller would be arrested after reportedly physically and verbally assaulting various people at a karaoke bar.  Following this, on April 19, Miller would once again be arrested for second-degree assault, after having thrown a chair at a woman, leaving her with a deep cut on her forehead.  It wouldn’t be long after this incident, that Miller would plead no contest for the March 28 incident, being charged $500 for disorderly conduct.”

In a statement, they said that “having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment… I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

They are also accused of grooming a young person from the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. The now 18 year old, Tokata Iron Eyes, has a restraining order against Miller. Tokata’s parents, Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle, accused Miller of grooming their child through their relationship that began in 2016. Tokata was just 12 years old and Ezra Miller was 23 years old. Their parents accused Miller of using drugs and violence to groom their kid. Miller went to social media to mock the attempts by law enforcement to serve them the order.

Un-safe House

The issues in Vermont are much deeper than a felony burglary charge over stolen liquor. Miller owns a 96-acre farm property in Vermont, and was housing a 25 year old mother and her three young kids. She left what she describes as an abusive relationship with her ex. Though the mother stated that it has been a “healing haven” for her and her children, the living conditions were extremely unsafe. The property has been said to have unattended guns lying around the house. One of the woman’s children allegedly put a stray bullet in her mouth.

In September, Vanity Fair reported that they have spoken to over a dozen people who have had contact with Miller in the last few years, and they say the actor “verbally and emotionally abused those around them and referred to themself alternately as Jesus and the devil.”

As for their role in The Flash, they supposedly returned to set earlier this month for re-shoots. Warner Bros. is moving forward with the theatrical release of the film next year.
