Person of the year 2023 Taylor Swift has just announced a brand new album, and we are ready for it!
For months fans have been speculating that Swift was close to dropping Reputation (Taylor’s Version), the next anticipated album in her line of re releases. Why you may ask, other than the flurry of pictures of Swift in black and white outfits which had the internet a buzz as all Swifties know, black and white is the color associated with the Reputation album. On Sunday morning she changed all of her social media profile images from her Midnights album cover to a black-and-white version of it, sending fans over the edge, solidifying the fact that something big was coming. At the 2024 Grammys after Swift won her 13th Grammy, (a number she considers to be very lucky for her) for Best Pop Vocal Album she made a surprise announcement about a new album release.
“This is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number” Swift said while accepting the award, “I want to say ‘thank you’ to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years — which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.”
Well, we’re getting an album alright, but it’s not the one we thought. Taylor Swift is launching a brand new Studio Album titled “The Tortured Poets Department”.
In the past Swift’s albums have all been titled with one word, “Fearless”, “Red”, “Folklore” etc. Except for her Debut album “Taylor Swift” and “1989” which was titled after her birth year. We can assume we are in for something completely different with this album. As Swift continues to reinvent herself with each new album.
This will be Swift’s 11th Studio album and her 15th all together including her Re-Recordings. The album will include 16 songs plus a bonus track.
“The Tortured Poets Department” is open for pre order right now and will be available on April 19, 2024.
