Disney just dropped a teaser for the upcoming slate of TV Shows and Movies hitting Disney plus in 2023, and as expected, we’ve got a lot of content to look forward to.
The Walt Disney Company has unveiled a 30-second teaser showcasing a selection of the upcoming shows set to be released on Disney Plus starting in January 2023. The lineup features a mix of new Originals, movies, and TV series. The streaming service offers a variety of content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, in addition to exclusive Disney+ Originals.
Some of the highlights of the teaser was Marvel’s Loki Season 2, Secret Invasion, Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian Season 3 and the brand new Ahsoka.

Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson are back in Loki Season 2! Although plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know “Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off,” Tom Hiddleston told fans at Disney’s D23 convention in September. “Loki is back in the TVA and Mobius don’t seem to know who he is.” Sophia Di Martino will be back as Lady Loki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Renslayer and Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) is joining the cast as a new character. “Fans are gonna be in for a real treat because the show is bolder and more surreal, and in many ways, goes to some bigger, bolder places than season 1, which is really exciting.” Said Mbatha-Raw to Entertainment Tonight about season 2.

We also got to see a few seconds of Marvel’s new series, Secret Invasion, although the footage used was the same that was seen in the trailer released a few months ago. The series premieres in 2023 and follows Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) as they try to stop the Skrulls who have infiltrated the highest spheres of the Marvel Universe. Cobie Smulders returns as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, and Don Cheadle as Rhodey aka War Machine. The series will also add Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, and Olivia Colman to the MCU.

On the Star Wars side of the universe, The Mandalorian will be back with its third season on March 1st 2023. Season 3 will pick up right after Book of Boba Fett. The third season will see Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) heading back to his home planet of Mandalore. A trailer released earlier this year showed Mando fighting armed warriors on Mandalore. Presumably the whole “owning the Dark Saber and ruiling Mandalore” issue will be dealt with this season. Giancarlo Esposito returns as Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga and Katee Sackhoff as Mandalorian Bo-Katen Kryze. Christopher Lloyd will be joining season 3 in an undisclosed role.
The Disney plus trailer revealed the first look at the upcoming Star Wars series, “Ahsoka”, starring Rosario Dawson, the series will be a spin off of the Book of Boba Fett. The series does not have an official release date yet but will most likely come out some time after The Mandalorian.
Not a Marvel or Star Wars fan? Don’t worry, Disney has a lot more coming to its streaming service next year, like the new live-action take on Peter Pan, David Lowery’s “Peter Pan and Wendy”, which stars Alexander Molony, Ever Anderson, Jude Law, Yara Shahidi and Alan Tudyk, the Pixar series “Win or Lose” and “American Born Chinese”.
