When “Yellowjackets” premiered in 2021, the survival drama quickly became immensely popular with fans and one of the years best new shows. The Emmy nominated series drew more than 5 million weekly viewers across the platform, the second-most streamed series ever for Showtime. Fan have eagerly been awaiting its second season.

Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, “Yellowjackets” tells the narrative of a team of wildly talented high-school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness.
The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring, cannibalistic clans, while also tracking the lives they have attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

The show alternates between past and present with 2 different actors playing each character.
Season 1 left us with a massive cliffhanger, and a lot of questions. Who is dead in the pit? What does the symbol mean? What will happen to Shauna’s baby? Who is behind the mask? Although we may not see them all answered in season 2, the show is renewed for a 3rd season and leaving plenty of time to get to the bottom of these mysteries.

The show stars Melanie Lynskey as Adult Shauna, Sophie Nelisse as Teenage Shauna Shipman, Tawny Cypress as Adult Taissa, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Teenage Taissa Turner, Christina Ricci as Adult Misty Quigley, Samantha Hanratty as Teenage Misty, Juliette Lewis as Adult Natalie “Nat” Scatorccio, Sophie Thatcher as Teenage Natalie “Nat” Scatorccio and Steven Krueger as Ben Scott.
Season two will introduce some new faces to the mix. Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Servant) and Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) join as series regulars for season two, along with Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) in a season-long guest arc.

The season is about to get even more interesting since characters we didn’t even know had survived the crash are about to appear for the first time in the present-day timeline.
