
The MTV Movie & TV Awards are back! The MTV broadcast, which honors the best in movies and television from the past year, will be hosted by Vanessa Hudgens. The awards show will be broadcast on MTV and sister channels VH1, BET, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, and MTV2. Here is what you can expect on January 9.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards are back.
Not only will Snoop Dog be performing, but the night will be filled with Hollywood favorites. Presenters include Chris Evans, Awkwafina, Rebel Wilson, Glen Powell, Billy Eichner, Riley Keough, Jay Ellis, Jenna Ortega, Joe Keery, Chase Sui Wonders, Jamie Campbell Bower, Lana Condor, Sydney Sweeney, Pablo Schreiber, Rachel Sennott, Sarah Shahi, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, and Maria Bakalova.
Jennifer Lopez is also set to receive the Generation Award. The Generation Award honors actors “whose diverse contributions to film and television have turned them into household names.” Having most recently starred in Hustlers, Lopez joins fellow winners that include Sandra Bullock, Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pratt, and Johnny Depp.
The second significant award of the night is set to go to Jack Black. Black will receive the Comedic Genious Award. The Comedic Genious Award honors actors who have made contributions to the world of comedy, providing influence in the genre and Hollywood alike. Previous award winners include Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Melissa McCarthy, and Sasha Baron Cohen.
After the awards show, MTV will air Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED, which will give fans a deeper look into the creation of the awards show and its history. New categories will also be awarded Best Reality Return, Best Music Documentary, Best Reality Romance, and Best Reality Star.
With many awards show coming back after years of being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic or airing without an audience, it will be a big night!
The MTV Movie & TV Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Barker Hangar on Sunday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
