Tilta Introduces a New Line of Magnetic Filters That Look to Be Quite Cinematic and Versatile

It’s always nice to see more options in the crowded, but always in need of innovation, lens filter market. And that’s what we’re getting with this new Tilta Illusion Magnetic Filter Ultimate Kit that has just been introduced.

These new filters feature some filter options that look quite helpful and high-quality, with magnetic connections for fast, easy attachment and adapter rings for supporting lenses with Front Diameters of 77mm and 82mm.

Introduced on the company’s website as a new filter kit that’s headlined by its Circular Polarizer Filter, which can quickly magnetically connect to its included Adapter Rings and come in three different variations, we do have some nice new competition in this filter space.

What’s nice about this new kit option is that all three Polarizers can be rotated to produce accurate, vibrant colors by limiting reflected light and preventing unwanted glare from reflective surfaces like water or glass.

The aforementioned standard Circular Polarizer Filter can also function as a normal Polarizer, while one variation includes 5 stops of Neutral Density (ND) for greater exposure control, and the other variation features Black Mist 1/4 for a softer, more diffused cinematic look.

The company states that once attached to an Adapter Ring, this Polarizer can be locked in place and stacked with the VND Adapter to create a Variable ND Filter that can be adjusted between 1-5 (or 6-10 stops, depending on which Polarizer is used).
