The Reboot series continues to tell a fascinating, very funny, and sometimes even dramatic story. It’s a story about the real life of actors who are trying to reboot their relationships and solve their problems with the help of the show. It would seem that this show is comedic and everything is quite predictable. But no! The creators of the show always go a step further. They decided to show the audience not only scenes where there are only jokes and but also those that reveal the characters and their inner experiences. In simple terms, they are trying to show us what are they doing in the “shadows” while no one is watching. Fascinating, isn’t it?
SOME POSITIVE VIBES OR NOT…
After Hannah’s loud statement in the last episode, it seems that the relationship between father and daughter has noticeably improved. They smile all the time and communicate very nicely. Hannah praises Gordon for making significant changes to the script (WOW!). But Gordon spoils this wonderful moment. Really?! Reed tries to reach out to Gordon. He wants to discuss the script and make a couple of edits but Gordon just runs away. He’s playing a little trick with a pen – “Wait. I’ll just grab a pen and come back…” Naturally, he doesn’t come back.

Hannah is trying to prove to her father that he can’t run away all the time. It is necessary to listen to their experiences and try to help. Gordon explains to her that this is not how it works in this area. And the actors are like bottomless pits of need, constantly whining and dissatisfied with something. Zack suddenly appears and says he has a little problem. Moreover, he really hopes he’ll get some help. Of course, Hannah wants to help solve this little issue. (she’ll regret it later). What is hiding in the shadows of his problems?
Zack tells a very nice story about how he can’t reach an agreement with his ex-girlfriend about the custody of his dog. Hannah listens carefully to Zaсk and Gordon, as always, escapes. But Hannah doesn’t give up… She agrees that he was right about the actors and it is simply impossible to please everyone. She suggests dinner at a restaurant (the one that Gordon loves so much) in order to discuss it all. To share experiences, so to speak. After all, Gordon has been in this business longer than she has. Of course, he agrees. However this is not just a dinner, but a little ploy from Hannah (that’s a twist!).
WHAT AN EVENING OF REVELATIONS!
Gordon comes to the restaurant and hopes for a pleasant evening in the company of his daughter. But instead he sees Reed. They realize that Hannah arranges this on purpose so that they could finally talk. And even pre-orders them drinks (how thoughtful!). It seems that the evening has already gone wrong. But what is each of them hiding in the “shadows” of their problems? After drinking enough cocktails, they finally begin to open up to each other (really?!). Gordon admits that Reed has a unique acting gift, but for some reason does not use it. He can make people laugh out loud. But instead, he is constantly trying to complicate everything and is always unhappy.

Reed is amazed by such words and here he also decides to tell the truth about Gordon, which he has been hiding for a long time. He says that he has always considered Gordon to be very smart, quick and that he is right person to be the showrunner. But that’s why this fact upsets him even more. Instead of writing a really brilliant script, Gordon squanders his talent on second-rate jokes. But he really can do more and always could.
The evening really takes an unexpected turn! Both have fun and come home together (quite tipsy). And then Gordon notices on the walk of fame the Hollywood star of his old enemy Chuck Lorre who stole all the airtime and attention from him in the past (this is interesting!). Gordon decides to take revenge on his old enemy – he tries to pee on that star. But, unfortunately, he does not succeed. Then Reed offers him help in this “difficult matter” but the police arrest him.
WHAT THEY DO IN THE “SHADOWS”?
While Reed and Gordon are having an evening of conversations, Hannah and Zack go to his ex-girlfriend. They are going to have a very serious conversation… (yeah, right!) Of course, the issue of their dog needs to be resolved. But as soon as he crosses the threshold of her house, they start arguing and can’t stop. Hannah decides to help solve this problem (I wish she hadn’t done that!). Oddly enough, they quickly come to an agreement. Even more, Hannah agrees to look after the dog while Zach is at rehearsals. But when she sees a “cute dog”, she really regrets that she agreed to this.

The storylines of all the characters are developing very rapidly. But things are even more interesting for Bree and Clay. They are involved in their mini-adventure. Is something really interesting? Bree is in search of herself, so she goes to a party at an unfamiliar place with people she doesn’t know (sounds intimidating!). Clay warns Bree that she has to be careful with her “new friends”. But everything is not going according to plan. Bree calls Clay and says she’s high and on mushrooms.
Of course, Clay can’t leave her like this. He’s trying to figure out where she is. Thank God she has Siri on her phone. Clay barely manages to get Bree into the car and calm her down. He is late for an important meeting and asks Bree to stay in the car and wait for him (after all, this is a dangerous area!). But Bree can’t sit still and breaks into an AA meeting. It turns out that Clay has not been drinking for 30 days (this is really an achievement!).
IS THAT ALL?
The next day, everyone returns to the studio, but something has changed… The relationship between Bree and Clay has warmed up noticeably and has definitely moved to a new level. They seem to have switched places – Clay is sober and leading a healthy lifestyle (at least, he is trying!), and Bree goes full “breaking bad”. Both admit that they have changed and definitely for the better. And maybe it could have worked out (in a romantic way) for them 15 years ago – if they had both been high, then for sure!

Gordon and Hannah are also making great progress in their relationship. She’s trying to apologize for setting up this meeting at the restaurant. But Gordon is even grateful to her for what she did. Otherwise, neither he nor Reed would have found out what they had been hiding all this time. But he adds that they promised the policeman could participate in the show. Hannah says she won’t ask anything. But she also tells Gordon that he was right about getting involved in actors’ lives – Hannah can’t solve all their problems.
Gordon says that he and Hannah can spend time at his favorite restaurant like any daughter and father. It seems that there really is progress in their relationship. And, of course, the creators of the show decide to end the series on a very cheerful note. One of the studio employees approaches Hannah and says that Zach said she could help solve his problem (poor thing!). Naturally, Hannah can’t refuse him and asks him to go to her office. But the office is occupied by a cute dog (not cute at all!), which she is now looking after…
IT’S A SHOW ABOUT PEOPLE!
In this episode the creators of the project do not just show us a funny story, but reveal in detail each of the characters of this show. They ask a very important question at the very beginning of the series – What we do in the “shadows”? And the answer to this question is revealed throughout the episode.

Each of the characters reveals what they have been hiding for so long and could not talk about it in any way. But this series becomes their starting point towards a new life. As one of the heroes said, they were definitely given a second chance to reboot their own lives, and they must not miss it.
And with each episode, the creators of the show convince us that these heroes deserve their place in the sun. After all, each of them made a mistake, fell, but got up again and walked. No doubt, they deserve a second chance like everyone else. And what awaits them next on the way to this complete reboot? We’ll see in the next episode.
