Paranormal Park After 2 Seasons

Another animated Netflix series bites the dust.

The streamer has axed Hamish Steele’s Dead End: Paranormal Park after two seasons.

Steele took to Twitter to break the news, saying, “I have held onto this news for a while now, hoping that we could reverse it, change it, make something good out of it. But sadly I don’t think that’s possible right now. It’s with a heavy heart that I tell you Dead End is over.”

Based on the graphic novel series DeadEndia, the show follows two teenagers and a talking dog who team up to fight demons in a haunted theme park, saving the world from a supernatural catastrophe.

Steele added the show even had a writers’ room for season 3.

“We have scripts and designs and outlines ready to go,” Steele said. “It was always the plan to give these characters the proper ending they deserve. But sadly, the powers that be don’t want any more. Honestly, we were lucky to make it through everything happening in the last few years.”

However, there is a silver lining.

Steele said he’s working on a third and final DeadEndia book, which he hopes will provide fans with some closure as Season 3 was going to be based heavily on the book.

“I continue to pitch shows with the same heart as Dead End,” he said. “But until then, I hope Barney, Norma, Pugsley, Courtney and the whole Phoenix Parks crew will continue to give you comfort in times of darkness.”

Dead End: Paranormal Park is not the first animated series to be canceled over the last year. The streamer shelved its version of the children’s comic book series Bone in April 2022. A month later in May, it canceled Ava DuVernay’s Wings of Fire, preschool series Antiracist Baby and movie With Kind Regards From Kindergarten. In October 2022, it axed the adult animated comedy Bad Crimes before it even hits our screens. And just this past week, Netflix canceled Inside Job Season 2.
