Paramount + Renews Tulsa King for Season 2

Paramount+ has given the greenlight to a second season of Tulsa King.

The crime drama, created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos) stars Sylvester Stallone in his first leading role in a scripted television series. Stallone plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York Mafia capo who is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to set up criminal operations for the mob. The series has been a breakout hit for Paramount Network.

According to the company, Tulsa King’s linear preview on Paramount Network makes it the biggest new series premiere of 2022 across cable with 3.7 million viewers, besting HBO’s House of The Dragon and the Hulu series The Old Man.

“With the combination of the incomparable Sylvester Stallone and Taylor Sheridan’s darkly comedic twist on the beloved mobster genre, we have found our latest hit in Tulsa King,” Tanya Giles, chief programming officer, Paramount Streaming, said in a statement. “The series’ premiere on Paramount+ helped drive a record sign-up day fueled by our unique ability as Paramount Global to tap into Paramount Network’s incredible Yellowstone audience.”

Tulsa King is also executive produced by Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter and Braden Aftergood. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
