NXT Premium Live Events to Air on CW in Multi-Year Deal

NXT‘s premium live events (PLEs) will air on The CW in a multi-year deal between WWE and the network.

The deal will kick off with NXT’s Great American Bash this summer, with The CW set to broadcast 20 PLEs over the next few years, including Stand and Deliver, Deadline, and Vengeance Day. The deal makes The CW the exclusive home for all NXT programming, with WWE’s developmental program having moved to the network in October 2024 in a five-year deal. NXT’s weekly live show currently airs Tuesday nights on the network.

“WWE NXT has energized our Tuesday nights by consistently delivering a loyal and passionate fanbase to The CW every week,” said Brad Schwartz, president of The CW. “Adding WWE NXT Premium Live Events to our schedule is a natural fit, providing one broadcast destination for audiences to watch all their favorite Superstars, storylines and championship matches.”

NXT has aired weekly since 2012. It is the brainchild of Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who now serves as WWE’s chief content officer. The show is currently overseen by Shawn Michaels, himself a WWE Hall of Famer with a legendary in-ring career. The pair recently spoke about NXT and developing the next generation of WWE superstars in a sit-down interview with Variety.

“The CW has played an integral role in raising the profile of our up-and-coming Superstars, and we are excited to bring NXT Premium Live Events to broadcast television for the first time ever,” said Michaels, WWE senior vice president of talent development creative.

Many NXT stars have moved up to the main WWE roster and programs like Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Those include Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Oba Femi, Tiffany Stratton, and more.
