Miranda Lambert criticized for calling out selfie concertgoers

Country music star Miranda Lambert has become the latest star to deal with a concert scandal. Recently, many big-named artists like Bebe Rexha and Drake have had concerts disrupted by fans.

On Saturday, Lambert became the latest star to deal with an interruption. Luckily, Lambert wasn’t hit in the face by a flying object. But the star was upset when fans were more interested in taking selfies than listening to music.

Miranda Lambert’s actions spark debate

Singers like Lambert put a lot of effort into their concerts. Artists want to make sure the show is a memorable experience for fans. Lambert’s recent Las Vegas concert is one that a couple of fans won’t forget.

Lambert was in the middle of a song when she halted the performance because of a group of fans taking selfies. “I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert told the audience. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit. Sorry, I don’t like it. At all.”

Lambert’s actions quickly sparked a debate. Some supporters applauded the Little Red Wagon singer by saying concerts were for enjoying music, not being on the phone. However, many believe Lambert was out of line and felt the fans had a right to take selfies since they paid for the tickets.

As the concert debate continues, Adela Calin one of the selfie fans has spoken out about her experience. In an interview with NBC News, Calin explained her side of the story. “It was 30 seconds at most. We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down.”

When Lambert called Calin and her friends out, the concertgoer admitted to feeling embarrassed.

“It felt like I was back in school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place. I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

Do you think Lambert went too far in calling out the fans?
