Makhadzi gifts herself a multi-million rand mansion for her 30th birthday

South African award-winning musician Makhadzi, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is marking her 30th birthday in a meaningful way by building her dream home.

The Limpopo-born singer, who celebrated her milestone birthday on June 30, revealed on Facebook that she has gifted herself a mansion, with construction already underway.

Sharing her excitement with fans, Makhadzi posted images of the building site, confirming that the house plans have been finalised and construction has officially begun.

Reflecting on her long-held dream, she wrote:

“Sometimes years back I asked myself what’s the plan for my 30th. And all that came to my mind was to move out of my parents’ house in the village. The 30th came, and all my manifestations have come to life. Here’s my six-month project. A woman is a brick.”

The singer said building her own home has always been one of her biggest goals and expressed pride in reaching the milestone.

“Congratulations to me. I am really proud of myself.”

Makhadzi also thanked her loyal fanbase, affectionately known as the Khadzinators, for supporting her throughout her career.

She said their unwavering support had made her success possible and inspired her to invest wisely.

“This is your home. Don’t pass with a hungry stomach. Don’t forget you raised me. I just decided not to disappoint you by using my money doing stupid things. This all became because of you, Khadzinators.”

Her announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans on social media.

One supporter, Ngoako Moropene, praised her decision to build in her rural hometown, writing: “Building a house for cash in a rural area is the greatest dignified investment to live a comfortable life even after you have retired or when you are no longer active to make more money. This is awesome.”

Another user, Vio Hlanguz, added: “A brilliant decision indeed. Imagine levies charged in town.”

However, not everyone agreed with her choice of location. Some social media users questioned why she was building her mansion in a village.

One commenter, Tusekiri Katuli, asked: “In the middle of nowhere? Congratulations, though.”

Responding with humour, Makhadzi replied: “Yes, me alone. I am kidding. I will share a video soon. You will see my neighbours. The pictures were taken before I could have neighbours.”

She also addressed criticism suggesting she should have built in an affluent Johannesburg suburb, revealing that she already owns several properties.

“I have properties. They’re just not in Fourways or Sandton,” she said.

The mansion comes during a busy period for the singer.

Fresh off celebrating her 30th birthday, Makhadzi recently released her latest single, “Tsotsi”, and confirmed that she will be in KwaZulu-Natal for the Hollywoodbets Durban July weekend.
