Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love, and in today’s digital age, love can come in many forms. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our “Love at First Like” short film competition, a Valentine’s Day, digital love-themed competition that will be hosted on Instagram.
The theme of the competition is “Digital Love,” and we’re looking for original and creative one-minute films that explore the theme in any way you see fit. Whether it’s a romantic comedy about a couple who met online, a heart-wrenching drama about long-distance love, Ai-involved love, or something in between, we want to see what you can come up with.
1) Shoot a film following all these conditions:
- It can’t be longer than 60 seconds
- It must feature a Dutch angle
- It must be centered around the theme: digital love
2) Post the completed film on Instagram, including @raindancefilmfestival and the hashtag #Loveatfirstlike
Note: Make sure your account is public so we can see your entry!
E.g.: Hey @raindancefilmfestival, here’s my #Loveatfirstlike
Submissions close at midnight, 14 February.
3) The top 3 films will be reposted on our Instagram account for an audience vote on February 21st.
One entry per person.
Submissions under 60 seconds will be accepted, however, submissions over 60 seconds will be ineligible. Opening titles and closing credits are included in your runtime.
The winners will receive:
- 1st Place: 2x Raindance Film Festival 2023 Passes + your #Loveatfirstlike film will be screened at the festival
- 2nd Place: £100 Raindance Course Voucher + Raindance Membership
- 3rd place: 1 Raindance Membership
Prizes are fixed and judges’ decisions are final.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with. Happy filming, and good luck!
ps: Don’t forget to read the terms and conditions before submitting your film.
