Following significant online backlash, the situation escalated when Jackson doubled down on his bad take while Palmer appeared to dismiss his statements with clever Instagram captions and merch. Earlier this month, Palmer seemed to put a cap on the drama by starring in the music video for Usher’s new track, “Boyfriend,” which includes the lyric, “Somebody said that your boyfriеnd’s lookin’ for me/Oh, that’s cool, that’s cool/Well he should know I’m pretty easy to find/Just look for me wherever he sees you.”
However, it appears this story isn’t over yet. On August 26, Jackson took Palmer out for drinks to celebrate her 30th birthday and streamed the outing on Instagram Live. “D, thank you for taking me out on my birthday as always,” Palmer said to Jackson in a clip shared by Pop Crave. “I mean, it’s not always my birthday but you always do take me out. But I just thank you for making it special for my birthday, that’s so sweet.”
While discussing her zodiac sign (Palmer is a Virgo), Jackson even appeared to refer to the Nope star as his “partner in crime.” Of course, the pair could be maintaining a close friendship amid their alleged breakup, but both parties kept the conversation pretty ambiguous. “Get into the Virgos and admit that Virgos are the one,” Palmer joked. “It’s already too late, your Virgo already has you hooked.”
