One wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back. Intense stories of crime and punishment. The new anthology series from Howard Gordon (24, The X-Files) “Accused” is a thought provoking thriller and crime drama with deeply human stories that will leave you questioning, the Accused.
This series takes viewers on the journey of the defendant. Each episode opens in a courtroom on the accused, with
viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial.
Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, “Accused” holds a mirror up to the current times with evocative and emotional stories.
Viewers discover how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one impulsive decision can impact the course of another life — and the lives of others — forever, until it’s too late to turn back.
Based on the BBC’s BAFTA winning crime anthology. Each episode will have a different case, a completely new cast, be set in a new city and a new story.
Featuring 15 stories of crime and punishment, and the gray areas in between. The show will be seeing a lot of familiar faces in the entertainment industry.
The cast of Accused includes Emmy winners Michael Chiklis (The Shield, Fantastic Four), Molly Parker (Deadwood, The Wicker Man), Margo Martindale (Your Honor, The Watcher), Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Malcolm & Eddie), Rhea Perlman (Matilda, Cheers), Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), along with Aaron Ashmore (Smallville, Warehouse 13), Whitney Cummings (Whitney, Made of Honor), Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Kingsman: The Secret Service), Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Jack Ryan), and more.
Academy Award Winner Marlee Matlin (CODA), Emmy Winner Billy Porter (Pose), Renowned Indigenous Filmmaker Tazbah Rose Chavez (Reservation Dogs), and Chiklis will all be directing episodes.
Executive-produced by Gordon, Alex Gansa (Homeland, 24) and David Shore (House, The Good Doctor).
“Accused” will take on current topics of our time, while also dealing with topics that are most human.
“Accused” premieres, Sunday, January 22 on Fox at 9/8c.
