Film That Lit My Fuse – Deadline

Miramax Presents The Film That Lit My Fuse is a Deadline video series that aims to provide an antidote to headlines about industry uncertainty by swinging the conversation back to the creative ambitions, formative influences and inspirations of some of today’s great screen artists.

Every installment asks the same five questions. Today’s subject is Jason Segel, who stars alongside Harrison Ford in Shrinking, the Apple TV+ comedy that is in the Emmy conversation. Segel hatched the series with Ted Lasso‘s Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawrence and stars as a therapist grieving the loss of his wife, prompting him to be exceptionally honest with his patients. The versatile Segel was part of a coterie of actors whose careers were launched by Judd Apatow in Freaks and Geeks. He had a long run in How I Met Your Mother and has had a strong run in films. He wrote and starred in the Apatow-produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall and co-starred in Knocked Up and This Is 40. He also starred in I Love You, Man, Sex Tape, Bad Teacher and The Muppet Movie, which Segel wrote with oft-collaborator Nicholas Stoller. Here is how Segel found his mojo.
