Everything Announced at Marvel’s D23 Panel

It was quite a busy day for Marvel at this year’s D23 Expo, with the studio making plenty of announcements involving the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Exclusive new footage from the upcoming sequel was shown at the event, Director Ryan Coogler confirmed he’s still in the editing process for the film. Apparently, the film will focus on how the rest of the world is trying to get Wakanda’s resources while the nation is weakened.

Ironheart

The Disney+ series, which is being executive produced by Ryan Coogler, is set to delve into the battle between tech and magic. Anthony Ramos was confirmed to be playing The Hood, which was rumored after set photos of Ramos were published on Twitter. The series also received a new logo, which you can see below.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

The upcoming Ant-Man sequel was confirmed to be directly linked to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. It will also feature the return of Randall Park’s Agent Jimmy Woo, most recently seen in WandaVision.

Werewolf By Night

The first trailer for Werewolf By Night was revealed, showing off the Halloween special’s black-and-white grindhouse style. Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly were confirmed to be starring in the special, and an October 7 premiere date was announced. Man-Thing can briefly be seen in the trailer.

Secret Invasion

The first trailer for the highly-anticipated Secret Invasion Disney+ series was shown to attendees and uploaded online. Several returning MCU characters can be seen throughout the trailer, in addition to a brief peek at Emilia Clark’s character.

Armor Wars

A new logo for Armor Wars was unveiled, while Don Cheadle confirmed that the series is set to start filming in 2023. The Disney+ series will be six episodes in length and will take place following the Secret Invasion series.

Fantastic Four

Very little was revealed involving the upcoming Fantastic Four film, outside of confirmation that Matt Shakman is officially set to direct the movie.

Echo

The forthcoming Disney+ series will include Vincent D’Onofrio;s Kingpin, though his eye will be covered by a bandage — assumedly as a result of his confrontation with Maya Lopez in last year’s Hawkeye. Filming for the series has also been completed.

Loki (Season Two)

Ke Huy Quan, most recently seen in Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, was confirmed to be appearing in the second season of Loki — specifically in the role of a TVA employee.

Daredevil: Born Again

The new Daredevil series was confirmed to be made up of 18 episodes, with filming set to start in 2023. A new logo for the series was also revealed.

Captain America: New World Order

Captain America: New World Order‘s villain was unveiled. The Leader, once again played by Tim Blake Nelson after his initial appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, will be the primary antagonist of the film. Carl Lumbly was confirmed to be reprising his role as Isaiah Bradley from Falcon and the Winter Soldier, alongside Danny Ramirez, who is returning as Joaquin Torres from the same series. Shira Haas will be playing Sabra, an Israeli superhero.

Thunderbolts

The full cast of Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts film was shown. The group will include Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah Jon-Kamen), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kerleynko), Yelena Belova/Black Widow (Florence Pugh), and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).

The Marvels

Iman Vellani, Brie Larson, and Teyonah Parris showed footage from The Marvels, which will also feature the return of Goose the cat.
