Étoile is the kind of show that makes you wish you knew ballet. The 2025 dramedy follows the story of two world-renowned ballet companies—one in Paris and one in New York—whose ticket sales have been low. In order to gain more attention, the heads of the companies, Jack (Luke Kirby) and Genevieve (Charlotte Gainsbourg), decide to swap a few of their talent to bring fresh faces to their companies. Genevieve gets up-and-coming choreographer Tobias Bell (Gideon Glick) and hometown star Mishi Duplessis (Taïs Vinolo) while Jack ends up with one of the Paris company’s biggest stars, Cheyenne Toussaint (Lou de Laâge). The show is told in both English and French, and keeps its viewers captivated in the drama of the ballet world.
