Chantelle Albers Tells Us About Her New Movie ‘Two Sinners and a Mule’

If you like Western movies or you’re just interested in watching a new film, look no further than Two Sinners and a Mule. This film has a little bit of everything. There’s romance, friendship, and plenty of action.

Chantelle Albers, star of Two Sinners and a Mule, spoke with Culturess about the movie. Here’s a peek inside our chat.

Culturess: For those of our readers who aren’t familiar with the film, could you give a brief summary?

Chantelle Albers: The title of the movie plays into the storyline. There are two sinners—Alice and Nora. They are kicked out of town by the Women’s Decency League. After they’re kicked out of town, they’re off wandering by themselves and they start a new life. Then they come across this bounty hunter who is left for dead. They nurse him back to health and they say, ‘You’re not in any shape to take on this bounty. We’ll help you for half the money.’

He reluctantly takes on these two women of the night to help catch his bounty because he’s injured, and he could use the help. We go on a Wild West adventure of gunfighting, heartache, theft, and forgiveness. That’s what drew me [to this role]. There’s such a vast character arc to Alice from where she begins to where she ends in the movie.

Culturess: What prompted you to star in the film?

Chantelle Albers: The thing that attracted me to the script was mainly the arc of Alice and how she starts off as this woman of the night. And we find out halfway through the movie that she only chose this job out of desperation. That’s not what she wanted to do. She was supposed to be married, but her husband-to-be died. I think Alice thinks there’s another side to her fiancé’s death. It’s just very mysterious how he died.

Culturess: How did you prepare to play Alice?

Chantelle Albers: Reading the script over and over again, I think, really helps solidify the character and the choices that you make. When I approach a character I like to intimately know them and know the way they think and why they’re making these choices.

Reading the script can help you really develop the character. Also, thinking about the time period and doing research on what life was like at that time helps. That really influences your mindset.

Culturess: Is there anything that surprised you when you read the script?

Chantelle Albers: I thought it was really cool and surprising that the town she gets kicked out of is the town she ends up back in. She’s like a risen phoenix where she’s a whole new person. I thought that was really interesting. That’s not something you would expect.

Culturess: What were some of the most challenging aspects of doing this movie?

Chantelle Albers: A lot of the elements added to some of the challenges of playing the role. For instance, the elevation of filming in the mountains and the heat and the wind. Those are the kind of things that add to the character also. It’s kind of a blessing in disguise because it makes things realistic.

Culturess: Do you think Alice would have been better off if she had never met Elden?

Chantelle Albers: I think it was important for her character development because every experience creates who you are. It kind of creates a survivor instinct. She does mention God, too. So, maybe all that heartache can bring her closer to God.

Culturess: Where do you think Alice is now?

Chantelle Albers: I would love to think she opened [her restaurant] and she’s making some good food for those miners!

Two Sinners and a Mule is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies, Redbox, ROW 8, Spectrum, Vudu, and Xfinity. The film is also available on Blu-ray and DVD.
