Channel 4 "Deeply Saddened" By Death Of Employee Lolita Visa

Channel 4 has said it is “shocked and deeply saddened” by the death of Lolita Visa, a digital librarian who worked at the UK network for four years.

Visa, known as Lola to her colleagues, died at the age of 32 in mysterious circumstances last month after going missing on a trip to Llandudno, a coastal town in north Wales.

The Sun newspaper reported details from her inquest, during which coroner John Gittins said that Visa’s body was retrieved by the coastguard from the water near Llandudno. Her injuries were “consistent with time submerged in water.”

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the death of our colleague Lola Visa.

“Lola was a digital media librarian in the 4Studio team, based in Leeds. She joined Channel 4 in 2022 and was an active part of the Channel 4 community. Our thoughts are with Lola’s family, friends and colleagues at this terribly sad time.”

Visa’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to make arrangements for her funeral.

“Our beloved Lolita Viša has sadly passed away. She had gone missing on the 22/08 and unfortunately, her body was discovered on the 26/08. Her loss has left all of us heartbroken, and we are faced with the difficult task of arranging her funeral,” the fundraiser said.

“If you knew Lolita, we hope you remember her for the person that she was and keep her memories close to you. She was bubbly and a joy to be around, she had stories for days to share about her travels and where she has been.”

Prior to joining Channel 4 in 2022, Visa worked at sports streamer DAZN for three years as a booking coordinator and assistant. She graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2018.
