Make way, Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s an award-winning actor who’s said to be looking for a part in the next Fantastic Four movie, and this fan art imagines what he’d look like. We’re talking about Austin Butler, of course, most famous for portraying Elvis Presley in the 2022 Baz Luhrmann film.
Ever since word got out that the Fantastic Four would be part of the MCU, comic book fans and movie lovers alike all gathered to speculate who could be cast in the coveted roles. You’ll remember that beloved actors like Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan have portrayed Johnny Storm/Human Torch in the past Fantastic Four movies, and that’s the part Butler’s apparently got his eye on. While we wait to see which actor will ultimately play the next iteration of Storm, check out this awesome art below.

Artist @clements.ink on Instagram created the two images below, which give us an idea of how well Butler could fit in the role of the Human Torch. By my judgment, he looks pretty great! And many of the commenters on Instagram all agree.
The post above received comments such as “Austin will be fantastic as the torch,” and “Would be the best actor in the MCU currently.” On the other hand, some disagreed that the Golden Globe-winning actor could pull off the role, with one writing, “Even with fan art I still can’t see it…I really hope he doesn’t become Johnny.” What do you think?
Is Austin Butler playing the Human Torch in Fantastic Four?
At the time of this writing, Butler is not confirmed to be playing the Human Torch, and neither is anyone else. The official casting has not yet been announced, though we have reason to believe the 31-year-old actor might very well be in the running. In a December interview on John Rocha’s podcast The Hot Mic, according to The Direct, Marvel insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Butler’s agents are “putting him up” for the role.
There will no doubt be countless actors trying out for the main roles in the new Fantastic Four film, so we can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
