Coming from Spain, the espionage film wasn’t a global sensation upon its release, but a few months after its arrival, audiences are discovering an essential action title currently streaming on Prime Video. ‘Agent Zeta’ Has Become One of the Most Watched Movies on Amazon Prime
After premiering worldwide on Prime Video in March 2026, the film became a hit for the streamer and stayed close to the top of the most popular titles list. Meet the Next Jason Bourne, or Jack Ryan, or Jason Statham
Agent Zeta tells the story of Zeta (Casas), an operative from the CNI (Centro Nacional de Inteligencia, a.k.a. Spain’s CIA) who’s tasked with solving a mysterious string of attacks. Several former intelligence agents have been murdered in different parts of the world, and they’re all connected via a covert operation that was run in Colombia decades ago. Despite being retired to take care of his mother, Zeta accepts the mission to find the only agent remaining alive, who could hold the answers to the senseless killings. Digging deeper, Zeta discovers that the operation may have something to do with his family and some secrets that were supposed to stay buried.
The film delivers endless action throughout its running time, almost never stopping to let the viewer take a break. However, there’s also an interesting story here – a gripping tale about Zeta’s past and his family’s involvement in a much bigger conspiracy than he originally foresaw. Mario Casas has the screen presence to become Spain’s next big action star; at times, he flashes the type of potential that could help him rival action icons like Jason Statham. However, his character is also given a strong backstory that allows him to showcase his dramatic range. This is not just a well-made action movie. It is also a powerful drama with all the ingredients to suggest it has franchise potential and deserves a sequel.
