Gal Gadot played Diana Prince in the old DCEU movie franchise. However, as was the case for Henry Cavill’s Superman, Wonder Woman is being recast for James Gunn’s DC Universe. There was some initial confusion regarding the status of Gadot’s canceled Wonder Woman 3 and whether she could play the character in the DCU, but that has since been cleared up by multiple reports.

With Gadot out, the rumor mill regarding who will play DC’s new Wonder Woman in the DCU’s slate of releases has heated up considerably over the last year. A few names gained strength in fan circles, like Love Story star Sarah Pidgeon, Percy Jackson franchise’s Alexandra Daddario, Hollywood fan-favorite Ana de Armas, and Andor‘s Adria Arjona. The latter just might get to the finish line.

On Instagram, @gatodeozymandias shared what Adria Arjona could look like as Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe.

Different from Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, the Andor actress dons a mix of the character’s more classic design from DC Comics and Gadot’s armored suit from the DCEU in the new DC fan art. This would create some connectivity between shared universes, while allowing the DCU’s Wonder Woman to be her own person.

Will Adria Arjona Play Wonder Woman In DC’s Man Of Tomorrow?

The DC fan art comes after a major update. After being a fan-favorite DCU Wonder Woman candidate for so long, Arjona has finally joined the franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adria Arjona will appear in Man of Tomorrow in a mystery role. The 2027 movie is a follow-up to 2025’s Superman, and will feature several DCU heroes, like Superman, multiple Green Lanterns, Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, and potentially more.

However, other reports from Deadline and Variety claimed she is playing Maxima, an alien who has a complex standing with Superman in the comics. In the end, both characters could make sense for Man of Tomorrow. Wonder Woman emerging in the DCU to help Superman and other heroes defend Earth from Brainiac would be on point. As for Maxima, she worked for Brainiac in DC Comics’ Panic in the Sky.

Why Adria Arjona Would Be Perfect For Wonder Woman

If she is indeed playing Wonder Woman, then DC would be getting one of the best actresses for the role. There is a reason why fans have wanted to see Arjona as Diana Prince for so long. The actress has delivered a series of magnetic appearances in multiple projects. In Hit Man, opposite Glen Powell, she showed all the charisma Wonder Woman should display.

In action projects like 6 Underground and Star Wars’ Andor, Arjona has shown her ability to sell intense action sequences and deliver dramatic skills that can make anyone weep, respectively. The actress is the complete package for a role as important to the future of the DCU as Wonder Woman, so if she was cast in the role, Adria Arjona would be the perfect fit.
