This season of Marvel’s “Agatha All Along” has been full of twists and turns, and not only on the Witches Road. As well as some incredible performances from Kathryn Hahn as Agatha and Joe Locke as Billy, but The conclusion of Agatha All Along is finally upon us. After seven episodes of betrayal, sacrifice, and dark revelations, Episode 8 of “Agatha All Along” brings Agatha’s coven (at least whats left of them) to the end of the Witches Road, setting up the explosive events of the season finale. The episode, titled “Follow Me My Friend, To Glory At The End,” masterfully intertwines themes of power, sacrifice, and haunting memories in a suspenseful lead-up to the climax in episode 9 titled “Maiden Mother Crone”. The series finale delivered one final plot twist masterfully interwoven into the rest of the show, making sure to leave viewers wanting more. Here are some of the highlights from the Double Episode Finale of Agatha All Along.

Billy Embraces His Full Powers as Wiccan

In an absolutely epic moment in Episode 8, Rio—aka Death—ambushes Agatha after she exits the Witches Road, ready to claim her prize. But in a flash of blue light, Billy arrives, now in full Wiccan form, having embraced his powers and donned an incredible, comic-accurate suit. In a selfless act, he lets Agatha absorb his energy to recharge, pleading with her, “Don’t take it all.”

Agatha Made Up The Witches Road

As we see in episode 9 Agatha created the witches road as a way to draw in covens of witches and steal their powers. The episode is focused on Agatha’s past with her son Nicholas, we soon learn that The Ballad of The Witches Road was actually a song that her son came up with about “the winding road,” the song soon evolves into “the witches’ road”. This ends up becoming a myth about a Witches Road. When Agatha’s son is killed by Rio, she uses this so called legend of the Witches Road to manipulate other Witches into forming a coven to find the road with her only to drain them of their powers. This would have worked this time if not for Billy.
Billy Brough The Witches Road To Life

In episode 8, when Billy finally heads home, he comes to a realization that changes everything. As he looks around his room he notices that there are different objects that are eerily familiar to that of the Witches Road, that’s when he comes to the conclusion “it was me.” Similarly to how his mother turned the town of Westview into a sitcom world in “WandaVision”, Billy’s yearning to reunite with his twin brother Tommy led him to conjure the entire Witches’ Road himself. Everything from the trials to the road itself came straight from the details in Billy’s own bedroom. But from this realization also brings a darker truth which is that the the deadly trials which resulted in the deaths of Mrs. Hart, Alice, and Lilia were caused by Billy’s subconscious. When Billy comes to realize this, he is distraught. This revelation adds a deeper layer of complexity to Billy’s character but this also means that he’s not only as powerful as his mother but, he is just as capable of causing unintended harm. However Billy is much more capable of feeling remorse than his mother.
Agatha Was The One Who Bound Jennifer

In the final trial in episode 8, Jennifer makes a shocking discovery: her magic wasn’t bound by a sinister Boston obstetrician, as she’d believed, but by Agatha herself, who had cast the binding spell in Boston long ago without knowing Jennifer would be affected. Furious at this revelation, Jennifer grabs a lock of Agatha’s hair and chants “You hold nothing” repeatedly, performing an unbinding ritual that finally restores her powers. Instantly, she vanishes after getting what she wanted from the road. When Jennifer reappears, she’s crawling out of the earth just outside Westview—and, without a second thought, she flies off, leaving Agatha and the Witches Road behind.
Agatha Makes a Noble Sacrifice

Agatha originally makes a deal with Rio to get Billy to willingly turn himself over to Rio in exchange for her to stop pursuing Agatha, but despite this, Agatha finds herself unable to go through with it. During their fight with Rio at the end of season 8, Agatha eventually convinces Billy to leave her to her fate, Which leads to Billy sacrificing himself to Rio for Agatha. However when she tells Rio to take him as they had planned, just as you can see the betrayal in Billy’s face, we see him reach Agatha by mentioning her son and asking if this was how he died telepathically. In a moment of resolve, Agatha kisses Rio, letting herself be taken, she dies and her body is turned to the ground. Her surrender to Death brings peace to Westview, as daylight returns, leaving Billy heartbroken yet free. But wait a minute, she is not done yet, Agatha comes back as a ghost because she refuses to move on the the afterlife and face Nicholas. Instead she sticks by Billy’s side, despite him trying to banish her.
Billy Finds a New Body for Tommy

In an emotional moment between Agatha and Billy during the 8th episode, Agatha offers Billy a grim solution for finding his missing twin, Tommy. She explains that Tommy isn’t “out there”, at least not in a body, and that Rio, a.k.a. Death, is preventing Billy from reuniting with him because doing so would require a sacrifice—another body. Agatha instructs Billy to close his eyes and remember his last moments with Tommy in Westview, tuning into the memory of his brother’s breathing as he sleeps beside him. As Billy breathes along to that rhythm, Agatha encourages him to reach out into the universe and find a body Tommy could inhabit. After struggling, Billy finally senses a dying boy—a tragic victim of a prank gone wrong, drowning in a pool. Horrified, Billy realizes the weight of the choice he’s making and asks “Agatha, am I killing this boy so my brother can live?”, and as Billy disappears leaving Agatha alone she responds, “No, Billy, sometimes, boys die.” No doubt a moment that we see Agatha think of her son. The season finale ends with Agatha telling Billy, “Let’s go find Tommy.” Leaving things upto speculation, but giving us hope for the return of these two characters.
“Agatha All Along” has proven to be one of Marvel’s best and most entertaining TV shows. It’s the little details and the things that you dont see coming that make this show so exciting. The season finale has wrapped up all loose ends but this is definitely not the last we have seen of Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff.
