The Cast of ‘Squid Game’ Kicks Summer Into High Gear for ‘Queue’ Issue 8

Issue 8 of Queue is kicking off summer with Squid Game stars Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon, and Park Hae-soo on the cover. The actors were photographed by Ryan McGinley in verdant Hollywood Hills on a beautiful day in the California sun. Writer Elaine YJ Lee spoke with the cast and director Hwang Dong-hyuk, diving deeper into the biggest show of the year that no one can stop talking about.

The issue unpacks several of our most beloved series of this year. Natasha Lyonne strikes a pose with photographer Ramona Rosales and talks time travel in Russian Doll. Margaret Qualley discusses the realities of motherhood below the poverty line in MAID. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin say farewell to their beloved Grace and Frankie after 94 episodes. And Bridgerton’s newest sister act, Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran, shake up the ton.

On the documentary and unscripted front, Queue invited Matthew Trammell to go behind the camera with directors Coodie and Chike, the directors of jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. We quench our need for speed with Formula 1: Drive to Survive producer Paul Martin, and celebrate one of our favorite Queer Eye heroes of the moment,Angel Flores. We find much to uncover about Andy Warhol in The Warhol Diaries, including an exclusive playlist from a Warhol “Superstar”, Viva.

We’re still not over that Ozark ending, so we went back to the beginning with Skylar Gaertner, who grew up on set as Jonah, the youngest of the Byrde family. We’ve also collected a selection of Ruth Langmore’s inventive insults to spice up your vocabulary. With the launch of another of our favorite dramas, we spoke exclusively to the Duffer Brothers to discuss the cinematic inspirations that laid the foundation for Stranger Things.
