You just can’t imagine what awaits you in the second episode of “Yellowjackets”. If you were waiting for an unexpected twist in this story, then IT IS in this episode! You need to be prepared for SOMETHING that you definitely couldn’t have predicted would happen so soon! The events really unfold in such a way that the audience does not have time to keep track of everything that is happening. Be careful, because it will get worse and darker for our heroes. What to expect next? It’s scary to even imagine… Let’s just look at what happens to the main characters in two time periods. Is the darkness coming for them, or is it coming from them?
WHAT’S GOING ON WITH SHAUNA?
In the second episode, the viewer is shown the story of Shauna and why she still communicates with the parents of her best friend Jackie. The audience understands why Shauna did what she did and not otherwise, in order to escape in the woods. And why she continues to fight for her survival after 25 years. Is her conscience still tormenting her and she can’t forgive herself? Viewers are lifting the veil of mystery that has been gnawing at Shauna all her life. But what happened in the woods 25 years ago? Will we get an answer to this question in this episode?
At the beginning of the series, we are shown Shauna talking sweetly and giggling. But don’t be in a hurry to enjoy it. Shauna is talking to her dead friend! Jackie asks to style her hair and do her make up. It sounds terrible! Jackie tells Shauna that she understands why she ate her ear (yes, yes! that delicacy in the previous episode — that was exactly it). Jackie says she did it for the baby. After all, it’s winter outside and Shauna simply won’t survive without food (supplies are running out!). Jackie insists that Shauna eat more (OH, MY GOD!). And cuts herself… Shauna realizes that all this time the knife was in her hands, and Jackie has been dead for a long time. But does she understand this?
Adult Shauna is trying to establish a relationship with her adult daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins). But Callie can’t forgive her for cheating on her father. And in addition to this, she also hid evidence (burned Adam’s documents) and pretended that she did not know him. Shauna tries to get her life back on track, but the whole idyll is disrupted by a policeman who asks her if she knew Adam Martin. Could there really be anything worse? Oh, yes! This cop is Kevyn (Alex Wyndham) — they went to high school together. He tries to hint to Shauna that they know Adam and Shauna had been texting. But she blames everything on a car accident and that they just had to exchange contacts. But is that what Kevyn meant, does he seem to suspect something?
WHO KIDNAPPED NATALIE?
In the second episode, Natalie is just furious that Lottie’s people are behind her abduction. She insists that she explain everything to her. She doesn’t believe Lottie did it for nothing. But she reveals to Natalie the real cause of Travis’ death. Is it really that simple? Lottie shows Natalie her community, where people struggle with their fears and emotions, and most importantly, that they are free.
Lottie doesn’t hide anything from Natalie and tells her everything about what happened with Travis (Andres Soto). She says that Travis communicated with her and tried to overcome his fears, which he struggled with after they were rescued. He said that the darkness was swallowing him again and IT required sacrifice. What is it about? Lottie tells Natalie that she tried to calm him down and bring him to his senses and even went to see him. But during the night she fell asleep and Travis disappeared.
Of course, she doesn’t give up and finds him, but what she saw was a shock to her. Travis explains everything by saying that darkness needs a victim, he needs “to look into her eyes” and give her what she wants. He asks Lottie to help him. She agrees, but things don’t go according to plan and Travis dies. That’s the whole mystery of his death, nothing supernatural. But is it so? Natalie doesn’t believe Lottie and says there’s something she’s not telling her. But maybe Lottie is just a victim?
In the woods, Natalie tries to explain to Travis that his brother could not survive in the forest in winter and, most likely, he has been dead for a long time. But Travis still believes he’s out there somewhere. And Lottie is sure that he is alive. Natalie and Travis go into the woods again (in search of food) and this time they split up. Natalie decides to act — she deliberately cuts her leg. She leaves her blood on a small piece of Travis’ brother’s clothes. Now he would definitely believe her. Or are Lottie’s visions stronger than that?
WHO IS TAISSA’S OTHER SELF AND MISTY’S NEW OBSESSION?
Yes, in the second episode the audience finally discovers the secret of why she walks in her sleep. But who is this “mysterious person” who she constantly follows? In the woods, Taissa is still trying to fight with herself — she walks in her sleep. In this she is helped by Van, who does not leave her side for a single step. Of course, at night she can’t control everything, and Taissa escapes. But Van is trying to figure out what’s going on with Taissa. So, when she tries to escape once again, Van asks her if she can go with Taissa and she allows her. Van asks her questions and finds out that the one she is talking to now is not Taissa, but her other self. And this other self follows the unknown man in black. Who is it?
Adult Taissa is trying to fight sleep, because she is afraid to fall asleep. But why? She starts taking pills again and realizes that she is not in control of herself. Could she really hurt someone? A little later, she discovers her son at home (but he shouldn’t be here). He tells her that he really wanted to see her, so he walked home from school by himself. Of course, she’s happy about it. She calls Simone and informs her about it. She is furious and says she will pick him up soon. Arriving at Taissa’s house, she discovers that her son has escaped (the window is open!). Taissa doesn’t understand how this could have happened.
When they are driving in the car, Simone gets a call from school and says that their son has been waiting for them for two hours. And then Taissa realizes that she has never had a son at home (there really is something wrong with her!). Simone gets into an altercation with Taissa and they get into an accident (it seems that Taissa did it on purpose!). What’s going on?
Misty is still trying to figure out what happened to Natalie and to call Taissa and Shauna, but neither of them answers her. Are they ignoring her? She’s trying to get to the truth herself, but she DEFINITELY needs help. She asks for help in her club of local detectives. And someone mysterious responds to her request (or pretends to?). Anyway, Misty doesn’t like it. At work, she notices a mysterious stranger looking at her. But who is he? She pretends that she just imagined it. When she goes to lunch, she discovers a note from a mysterious admirer, known by his username “PuttingtheSickinForensics”. Has Misty found a soul mate?
IS THAT ALL?
In the woods, the mood of the Yellowjackets reaches boiling point. Taissa sees that Shauna is not herself and what she did with Jackie’s corpse (did her make up and combed her hair!). Taissa says they need to burn her corpse because they can’t bury it (the ground is very frozen). They take out Jackie’s corpse and ask Shauna not to interfere with it. Lottie tries to protect Shauna, but everyone is just terrified of what they see.
The girls are thinking about keeping her clothes, at least her jacket. But Shauna won’t let them do it. She says goodbye to her friend and sets her corpse on fire. Natalie and Travis are watching all this. Travis still doesn’t believe his brother is dead. Lottie also sees that he is alive (is it true?). But, in the end, he sets fire to his clothes and says goodbye to his brother. They go into the house so as not to see Jackie burn.
But they are woken by a strange smell… They all run out and see a dreadful sight! And then everyone, except Coach Ben, is standing over the corpse as if spellbound. They seem to be drugged. And everyone starts eating… Yes, yes! In the air is the smell of fried meat. Coach Ben is hiding behind the door and can’t believe what he sees. But it does happen… Who’s next?
