Workshops, Panels, Masterclasses scheduled for the 16th Edition of NFFTY!
In addition to its short film programs, NFFTY is offering 9 panels and workshops this year that are designed to give filmmakers the opportunity to learn from industry pros and ask burning questions to help them take their craft to the next level.
This year’s Keynote is an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at rising filmmaker Kris Mercado’s creative process, and young filmmakers can gain valuable insights from his experience. Mercado will share his journey from creating short films to making his feature debut If You Were the Last at SXSW with a star-studded cast.
There’s also an Editing Masterclass Presented by by ScanDesign Foundation with Tom Engell, editor of the Oscar nominated short film On My Mind, and a Masterclass with acclaimed documentary filmmaker Lars Ostenfeld, who will lead an enlightening discussion on the intersection of film and climate change. Workshops will include Bri Castellini from Seed & Spark demystifying the complex world of distribution for independent creators, and Screenwriter Aviv Rubinstein providing a dynamic and thought-provoking workshop on the Universe Model of Storytelling.
All events will take place in-person at SIFF Cinema Uptown and the SIFF Film Center. See the NFFTY schedule for more details!
