Working Title for Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa Fast & Furious Movie

Following his appearance in a post-credits scene in Fast X, a movie starring Jason Momoa and Dwayne Johnson might be in the works.

What is the working title for the Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa Fast & Furious movie?

According to a recent report from noted industry insider Daniel Richtman (via World of Reel), the working title for The Rock’s new Fast & Furious movie is “Untitled Luke Hobbs and Dante Reyes.” This comes after Dwayne Johnson confirmed earlier this month that he would be starring in a standalone film opposite Momoa.

In a post-credits scene for Fast X, Johnson’s Hobbs can be seen breaking into a run-down church that’s been set up by Momoa’s Reyes. After finding a phone ringing, Reyes — who has spent the whole movie hunting down Dominic Toretto for the death of his father — threatens Hobbs, telling him that he is Reyes’ next target, telling Hobbs that Toretto may have played a role in the death of his father (which took place in Fast Five), but that Hobbs was the one who actually killed him.

What do we know about the Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa Fast & Furious movie?

In a video posted to his Twitter earlier this month, Johnson confirmed that he’ll star in an untitled standalone Fast & Furious movie that takes place during Fast X. He’ll be opposite Jason Momoa in the film, who played the recent movie’s antagonist Dante.

The star also discussed why he chose to return to the franchise, citing the explosive fan reaction to Fast X’s post-credits scene that featured Johnson’s return as Luke Hobbs. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the movie is neither a full sequel or a spin-off, but rather a “Fast X.5.”

The new movie will be written and produced Chris Morgan and produced by Johnson and his partners at Seven Bucks Productions Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. It will also be produced by series star Vin Diesel and Samantha Vincent through their company One Race, Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth/Kirschenbaum Films, and Neal Moritz for Original Film.
