Wonder Woman Prequel ‘Paradise Lost’ Reportedly Finds Its Creative Team

It has been over three years since James Gunn announced the first ten projects of the DCU, called “Chapter One – Gods and Monsters.” While some titles like Superman, Supergirl, and Lanterns have made it through development, many projects have struggled. These include the Batman-led Brave and the Bold, and the announced The Authority seems to be all but canceled. Given the excitement surrounding the franchise, any project that doesn’t get significant updates over extended periods is assumed to be scrapped.

One title rumored to be canceled, but which Gunn later said remained in development, was the Wonder Woman prequel Paradise Lost. After years of speculation, it appears that Paradise Lost may have finally found its head writers. According to the Writers Guild of America website, reported via Tech Times, Kira Snyder and Janet Lin are both attached to Paradise Lost. No official announcement has been made by James Gunn or DC Studios.

Gunn pitched Paradise Lost as Game of Thrones-inspired and as exploring the history of the Amazons on Themyscira before Wonder Woman’s birth. However, in February 2026, a rumor emerged that Paradise Lost had been canceled. James Gunn quickly debunked those rumors and, in April 2026, said the series was in “extreme development.” Gunn may have spoken with Snyder and Lin about joining the series during that period.

Kira Snyder has served as a writer on The Handmaid’s Tale, The 100, and Alphas. She was also one of the writers on Pacific Rim: Uprising and served as a consulting producer on The Penguin. Janet Lin served as both a writer and producer on series such as Bones, Bridgerton, and The Orville. Together, Snyder and Lin have diverse lists of credits that make them ideal fits to shape a series like Paradise Lost.

Wonder Woman is a big part of James Gunn’s DCU future. The island of Themyscira and the Amazons were teased in the DCU’s first project, Creature Commandos. Wonder Woman made her DCU debut in Creature Commandos — in a vision by Circe to Amanda Waller that showed Wonder Woman and many other heroes dead. In addition to Paradise Lost, a new Wonder Woman film is in active development. Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira is set to pen the Wonder Woman reboot. Despite most sources saying that Adria Arjona is playing Maxima in Man of Tomorrow, many fans are still holding out hope that she is playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming DCU film. With San Diego Comic-Con fast approaching, it is likely that more news about Paradise Lost could be revealed at the event.
