In case you missed it in January, make some time now for Wonder Man. It’s the least MCU-feeling MCU title in a long time, and because of that, it’s such a refreshing and exciting eight-episode run. The series follows MCU newcomer Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), a struggling actor and superpowered individual who is hiding his powers, and actor Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) as they form an unlikely bond while attempting to land roles in a remake of the in-universe superhero flick Wonder Man. Kingsley, of course, is returning to the MCU after appearances in Iron Man 3 and Shang Chi with a renewed purpose that becomes clear toward the end of Wonder Man‘s pilot. While the show is set in the MCU, Wonder Man feels a lot more like a buddy comedy about two guys who really like movies and cinephiles will love all of the references peppered throughout.
