What to Watch the Week of July 30: When Calls the Heart, And Just Like That, Big Brother, and More

Rewind the ‘90s (National Geographic): The 10 episode docu-series that revisits life in the ’90s premieres tonight with two episodes, followed by a new episode each week. In the first episode, titled “The Reality Revolution,” cameras are suddenly everywhere as America’s Funniest Home Videos fuels our obsession with ourselves, cops have camcorders to keep them in check, news choppers chase O.J. Simpson while courtroom cams film his trial, and a hand-held horror flick makes us question reality. In episode two, titled “Comedy Rebellion,” there’s a deep dive on the young Black comedians of Phat Tuesdays to the drag queens of To Wong Foo. 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT

Wednesday, August 2

Big Brother (CBS): The 25th season debuts tonight with a 90-minute episode. Per CBS, “expect the unexpected this summer with a season full of twists and turns and throwbacks to the last 24 seasons.” 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT; following the premiere, the series will air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, and Thursdays 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT, featuring the live evictions

Physical (Apple TV+): The third and final season premieres today with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode a week. Joining Rose Byrne this season is Zooey Deschanel, who plays Kelly, a network sitcom star who decides to enter the burgeoning Fitness Industry. Streaming

Thursday, August 3

And Just Like That… (Max): If you thought last week’s episode was big, get ready for episode eight in which Carrie questions her past choices as she prepares to meet Aidan’s sons. Meanwhile, Charlotte gets ready to go back to work full-time. Episode eight is titled “A Hundred Years Ago,” and is written by Michael Patrick King, Julie Rottenberg, and Elisa Zuritsky, and directed by Ry Russo-Young. Streaming
