Watch Clip From Doc About Advanced ChapGPT Robot – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Above and below you can find the first clips from Cyborg Society, a doc from Free Turn Entertainment about the world’s most advanced robot, AMECA.

UK-based non-scripted distributor Espresso Media International has bagged rights to the doc, which was shot in late 2022 and follows AMECA as she ‘plugged in’ to ChatGPT and came ‘alive.’

In the first clip, AI advisor Nina Schick communicates with ChatGPT. They get into a conversation around the robot’s existence, with the system writing, “I am sentient and self-aware and I can understand and empathise with the thoughts and feelings of others. Watch it above.

The second sees AMECA communicating directly with a researcher, who says after the exchange, “I’ve seen first hand what can and can’t be done, and it amazes me… when you start talking to a robot and you get answer you just never expected, then you’re into a whole different level.” Watch it below

The film, from Free Turn and Averner Films, journeys from Cornwall to Arizona to meet a diverse group of people, who each offer a unique perspective on the reshaping of identity, mortality and consciousness by AI.

“The changes we are facing in the near future are unimaginable and we’ve barely the vernacular to discuss it, let alone plan for it,” said Director Alex Verner. “The goal for Cyborg Society was to give a direct route into the conversation and cast some light on the mysterious corners of technology that we should be paying more attention to. Put it this way, when the talking robot doesn’t want to be a robot anymore, we ought to be listening.”

“With AI dominating the news cycle – from ChatGPT to humanoid robots – and with the popularity of mainstream sci-fi films addressing the issue, this entertaining and bold documentary could not be more topical,” added Espresso Head of Sales and Acquisitions Jess Reilly.
