Warzone 2 server issues are ‘actively being worked on’ following player complaints

Infinity Ward has said it’s “investigating” server issues that have recently marred the gameplay experience for some Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players.

As noted by Dextero, console and PC players have been complaining about bullet registration issues, delayed actions, and significant frame drops since Season 3 launched on April 12.

After a number of high-profile members of the Call of Duty community drew attention to the issues over the past week or so, the Modern Warfare studio finally acknowledged them on April 20.

“We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them,” the official Call of Duty account tweeted.

The problem has been added to Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 Trello board, where players can keep track of known issues that are being worked on.

One prominent player who had been voicing complaints about the issues is Warzone 2 streamer JoeWo, who earlier this week shared a video of his parachute failing to deploy.

Prior to Activision’s announcement, ModernWarzone, which has almost 800,000 followers on Twitter, also wrote: “Call of Duty needs to publicly acknowledge the server issues with Warzone instead of promoting Blackcell, their new bundles and battle pass all over social media.”

Activision kicked off a week-long Modern Warfare 2 free multiplayer trial on April 19.

It includes access to some of the content introduced last week with Season 3, including new core map Pelayo’s Lighthouse, which is set on a small, craggy island during an evening storm, and Gunfight mode.
