Vū Virtual Studio Offers Generative Production Tools for Content Creators and Studios

A cloud-based suite of virtual apps promises to leverage AI for remote studio production.

Using pre-built virtual environments, Vū Virtual Studio offers generative production tools for content creators to create virtual environments and manage projects through various applications.

Partnerships were also announced at NAB, including Cuebric Virtual Environment Generator and Showrunner remote studio operation tools, which are powered by Amazon Web Services.

Let’s get into what we discovered from Vū Virtual Studio at NAB 2023.

A Vast Virtual Network

Through a network of over twenty virtual studios spread out across North America and the United Kingdom, Vū has managed to fashion a powerful suite of virtual tools for creating affordable, high-quality virtual content.

With an expanding global network of Vū-operated and affiliate studios, an evolving set of software tools, and a team of creative storytellers, virtual artists, and technologists, Vū is advancing virtual production technology in a way that may standardize it in the near future.

Through their new Vū Virtual Studio production suite, users can now harness that network to create their own generative virtual content for use in a virtual production workflow.

The Vū Virtual Studio is described as a platform for controlling all Vū applications, as well as managing third-party applications for seamless incorporation. The suite offers a wide range of features and services, including Project Management for all media files, including project creation, file sharing, call sheets, storyboard creation, and digital asset management.

Remote Virtual Operation

Vū Remote VP projects leverage Unreal stage operation with the remote support of multi-user cloud connection, file sync, version control, and remote live camera feed management.

AI Generation

Vū’s AI Tool provides node-based creation of generative workflows through image and text prompting and includes multi-platform AI languages that can be chained together to create a custom AI-driven workflow.

Previz and Storyboards

Scene Forge allows users to creative pre-visualization and storyboards using Vū’s catalog of 3d models, third-party asset libraries, pre-built filming tools, animatics, and animations.

Scene Forge will be a free download for content creators to being designing Unreal-style environments, sets, and shots for Films, Immersive Experiences, and Attractions.

Third-Party Partnerships

Vū Virtual Studio will also work with third-party applications like Cuebric, a generative AI application that creates virtual environments and outputs them with a camera-ready resolution that is fully rotoscoped for concept and previsualization, or for filming on a volume soundstage (much like The Mandalorian) for volume stages, digital matte painters, concept artists, and VFX Houses.

The Showrunner app offers content creators the ability to control virtual and physical environments with stage lighting, scene selection, and virtual backgrounds, all from a smartphone.  Content creators can manage virtual productions through a user friends interface, with digital controls, device snapshotting, and switching from Unreal Engine and plates from a mobile platform in real-time.

Where to Find Vū Virtual Studio

Vū Virtual Studio is open for beta users ahead of a formal launch in the summer of 2023.

As launch time gets closer, Vū will announce pricing details and availability. The company, however, will be demonstrating the suite at NAB, Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall, booth C8320 all this week.
