Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn showed off her intense powers as she looks to take her place as the main villain in the MCU’s next movie, The Marvels.
The Kree empire is set to make quite the comeback in Captain Marvel 2 as Zawe Ashton embodies Dar-Benn, a powerful Kree leader that will face off against Carol Danvers in her solo sequel.
While she’s only been seen in minimal bits of footage so far, she looks to pose a major threat to potentially the entire Multiverse as Carol finds herself on yet another dangerous solo mission taking her across the galaxy.
Captain Marvel 2 Villain Shines in New Trailer
The newly released second trailer for Marvel Studios’ The Marvels highlighted Zawe Ashton’s villain, Kree leader Dar-Benn.
30 seconds into the trailer, Ashton’s nemesis is seen using her powers against her enemies, wielding a Kree hammer similar to the one that Ronan the Accuser used in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
Dar Benn unleashes a massive blast of purple energy that sends her enemies flying in the air a few feet away from her, telling Captain Marvel “You took everything from me, and now I’m returning the favor.”
She also uncovers a bangle that looks nearly identical to the one Ms. Marvel uses, which she’ll seemingly utilize in Captain Marvel 2 to entangle the powers of the three leading heroines.

Dar-Benn Becomes the MCU’s Next Villainous Threat
Bringing a gender-swapped version of a powerful Kree general from the comics, Dar-Benn will be far from an easy villain to take down, even as Carol Danvers gets some extra backup in Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan.
Ashton has also been teased heavily through promotional material as Marvel looks to continue its run of solid movie villains this year after previous efforts by Kang the Conqueror and the High Evolutionary.
And while it’s still a mystery if this will be a one-time deal for Ashton and her character, she’ll play a key role in making Captain Marvel 2 one of Marvel’s most important stories told through the course of the Multiverse Saga.
The Marvels will premiere in theaters on November 10.
