Koffee With Karan Season 8: Vicky Kaushal reveals that he met Katrina Kaif’s siblings and mother for the first time just a week before their wedding.
After keeping their relationship hush hush for a couple of years, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif tied the knot in an intimate but lavish ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan on December 9, 2021. It was the much-talked about Koffee ‘manifestation couch’ where Katrina named Vicky as the one actor she was looking forward to working with the most and the rest, as we know, is history. While the audience is yet to watch the lovebirds in a film together, their PDA on social media and pictures of them spotted hand-in-hand at red carpets continue to dish out major couple goals.
And now, for the first time ever, Vicky spilled the beans on how he proposed to Katrina ahead of their big day in Rajasthan in the recently released episode of Koffee With Karan 8, where he appeared along with his Lust Stories and Govinda Naam Mera co-star Kiara Advani. When prodded by Karan Johar, Vicky blushed and revealed how their busy schedules became a hindrance for him to plan an elaborate proposal for his lady love.
He went to share that he finally managed to propose her by going down on his knees a night before their wedding in their hotel before their friends and families arrived.
“It was very last minute. I had been warned by everybody that if you don’t propose, it’s something you’ll have to be prepared for for the rest of your life that you got to hear about it. I did that one day before the wedding It was dinner just before any of the friends and families could come,” the actor said.
Vicky also said that he met Katrina’s siblings and mother for the first time just a week before the wedding when they flew down to Mumbai. Known for his moves, Vicky told Karan that he used his dancing talent to impress her family. In his words, he ‘broke the ice’ by grooving to Tip Tip Barsa Paani, which warmed them up to him.
Further, when Karan asked him about the three ways in which Katrina Kaif refers to him, Vicky replied, ‘Booboo, baby and aey!’ This made both Karan and Kiara burst out into peals of laughter.
Prior to Vicky’s big revelation, Kiara also shed light on how Sidharth Malhotra proposed to her during a vacation in Rome where Sidharth’s parents also accompanied them. Kiara revealed that she had an ‘inkling’ that her Shershaah co-star would propose to her during the trip but was pleasantly surprised when he popped the question in their first destination itself. Being a true-blue old-school romantic, Sidharth went down on his knees during a candle-light dinner at a Michelin star restaurant with violins playing in the backdrop.
