Usher Confirmed For Superbowl Halftime Show Performer In Las Vegas – Deadline

Usher has been confirmed as the headline act at halftime of Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

The NFL tweeted promo videos of Kim Kardashian and player-turned-coach Deion Sanders confirming the news with the singer. Watch below.

Super Bowl LVIII will take place in Las Vegas on February 11. Eight-time Grammy winner Usher previously appeared as a halftime show guest in Super bowl XLV that was headlined by The Black Eyed Peas.

Among Usher’s nine nine Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles are Burn, Love in This Club, My Boo and U Remind Me.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a widely syndicated statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher follows Rihanna’s 2023 halftime show, which marked her return to live performing after five years. She performed a career set of hit singles and also revealed she was pregnant. Rihanna’s Super Bowl followed performances by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar at the big game.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has produced the show since partnering with the NFL in 2019.

“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime performance by Rihanna was the first sponsored by Apple Music.
