For its 20th season, Top Chef decided to mix things up. Instead of a traditional All-Stars season, judges Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons jetted off to London for a global throw down. Top Chef: World All-Stars has been pitting 16 of the most popular, successful, and famous contestants from every international Top Chef franchise against each other to find out who truly is the best chef in the world. The most fun part of this season isn’t reuniting with faves from the Bravo series, but falling head over heels for chefs from foreign installments. Sure, it looks like Top Chef Season 19 winner Buddha Lo is sailing towards the series win, but we’re sort of rooting for innovative Jordanian chef Ali Ghzawi, adorable Mexican champ Gabri Rodriguez, or German culinary whiz Tom Goetter to squeeze in there. This season of Top Chef not only expands fans’ scope of the series’ franchise, but also proves how good food unites us all.
