Toni Collette thriller series reaches Prime Video next month

Prime Video has released a trailer for the global thriller series The Power, starring Toni Collette. Set to premiere in March

A few weeks ago, we saw a teaser trailer for Prime Video’s global thriller series The Power, which is set to make its premiere on March 31st. Now a full trailer for the show has arrived online, and you can check that out in the embed above.

Prime Video notes that the first three episodes of The Power will be available to watch as of March 31st, the new episodes will be released each Friday, leading up to the season finale on May 12th. So it sounds like there are nine episodes total.

Based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Naomi Alderman, The Power is set in our world, but for one twist of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.

The series stars Toni Collette as Mayor Margot Cleary-Lopez, John Leguizamo as Rob Lopez, Auli’i Cravalho as Jos Cleary-Lopez, Toheeb Jimoh as Tunde Ojo, Josh Charles as Daniel Dandon, Eddie Marsan as Bernie Monke, Ria Zmitrowicz as Roxy Monke, Zrinka Cvitešić as Tatiana Moskalev, and Halle Bush as Allie Montgomery.

The Power is coming our way from Amazon Studios and SISTER. Raelle Tucker, who has previously worked on shows like Supernatural, True Blood, and Jessica Jones, is the showrunner.

What did you think of the trailer for The Power? Will you be watching this show as it’s released through Prime Video? Share your thoughts on this one by leaving a comment below. I wasn’t aware of Alderman’s novel until this series was announced and haven’t read it yet, but the trailer for The Power makes it look like the show is going to be interesting. I’ll be giving it a chance and watching it at some point. I have a Prime Video account, so I might as well put it to use.
