When Tom Holland’s Peter Parker brought Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield across the multiverse and into the MCU, he may not have only changed the course of Marvel’s in-film history, it may have altered our history as well.
In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Thomas Haden Church, who portrayed Flint Marko in both Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home, revealed that Tobey Macguire’s Spider-Man story may not be finished.

Rumors of Spider-Man 4
When asked if he would like to appear in another Spider-Man film, Church hinted that something may be in the works.
“There’s always been some kind of…I’ve heard rumors…that Sam Raimi was going to do another [Spider-Man movie] with Tobey [Maguire] and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo,” Church said.

Ever since the release of Spider-Man 3 in 2007, rumors have swirled that Raimi could make a fourth Spider-Man movie. These rumors have only intensified since Macguire officially joined the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Would Raimi Return?
Subsequently, Raimi joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe himself when he helmed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Last year, Raimi seemed open to returning to the Spider-Man franchise, hinting that a future film could feature Macguire and Kristen Dunst.
“I’ve come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups,” Raimi last year said when asked about another possible Spider-Man sequel. “I love Tobey. And I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. And I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”

With Hollywood currently shut down, and Marvel’s future Spider-Man plans unclear, it will likely be a while before we see a Spider-Man 4. With Maguire and Raimi back in the fold, however, anything is possible.
