The Resort is the mysterious dark comedy you never knew you needed. The Peacock original series was created by Andy Siara, writer of the charming 2020 time loop rom-com, Palm Springs. Just like Palm Springs, the show stars Cristin Milioti, who once again shines in her signature “weird, morbid chick” role. Milioti plays Emma, a high-school teacher on an anniversary getaway with her husband Noah (William Jackson Harper). After accidentally finding crucial evidence in a 15-year-old murder/missing persons case, the couple spends their vacation investigating the curious mystery. If a combo of The White Lotus, Lost, Only Murders in the Building, The Goonies, and Jason Mantzoukas’ general energy sounds like a good time — and I don’t see why it wouldn’t — then The Resort is perfect for you. The fun, fresh eight episode series will fill you with nostalgia, awaken your inner detective, and keep you guessing until the very end.
