‘The Mole’ Showrunner David Tibballs Promoted At Eureka – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Eureka Productions, the production company behind series such as ABC’s The Parent Test and Fox’s Farmer Wants A Wife, has promoted David Tibballs.

Tibballs, who was most recently showrunner on Eureka’s reboot of The Mole for Netflix, becomes EVP, Programming and Development.

It comes after Eden Gaha stepped down as President earlier this summer.

Tibballs will oversee production of Eureka’s shows in the U.S. and will also expand its U.S. development slate.

He will report to Eureka’s Co-CEOs Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin and will work closely with SVP, Production and Post-Production Jeanne Petrone-Arzubiaga.

Eureka, which has headquarters in LA and Sydney, is currently producing the second season of The Mole for Netflix and the second season of Farmer Wants A Wife for Fox as well as The Floor for Fox.

He first joined Eureka as SVP, Programming in 2021 and became showrunner of the second season of The Mole, having been exec producer on season one and also exec produced series including Twentysomethings for Netflix.

He previously exec produced The Day I Picked My Parents for A&E and co-created the UK version of Dragons’ Den for the BBC. He also co-created Billion Dollar Buyer for CNBC and was co-creator and showrunner of HBO Max’s Stylish with Jenna Lyons as well as served as showrunner for Fox’s Utopia and I Wanna Marry Harry.

“David is a world-class producer and showrunner who has led the production of some of Eureka’s most successful series,” said Paul Franklin. “As our output continues to expand in the U.S., it is important for us to have someone with David’s experience and leadership to oversee our cross-platform production slate, while ensuring we continue to grow our pipeline of new shows in development.”

“With a growing line up of new and returning shows for major networks and global streamers, Eureka’s U.S. slate is as strong as ever,” added Tibballs. “I am excited to build on this success with the Eureka team, and ensure we continue to produce to the highest standard for our partners, while developing stand out new shows that audiences will love.”
