The Mandalorian’s Katee Sackhoff is no stranger to bringing animated characters to life having seen her The Clone Wars character of Bo-Katan transition to the live action world of The Mandalorian. However, there is another animated character that Sackhoff would like to play in live-action in another franchise. While speaking recently to Comicbook.com, the actress revealed that she would really love to play a live-action version of Poison Ivy in the DCU or one of its Elsewhere projects sometime in the future. While also revealing her thoughts on recent rumors of Mike Flanagan’s Clayface pitch, Sackhoff said:
“I can’t quite say that I would sell my firstborn, because she’s quite special to me [laughs]. But I would like sh*t twice and die to play Poison Ivy. [And Mike Flanagan] is such a genius and so collaborative. Working on Oculus was so much fun for me because he allowed me to talk about what I wanted to do with her [the character “Marie Russell] I love bringing physicality to the roles that I play and horror is no different,”
Of course there is a lot up in the air at the moment when it comes to DC Studios and their output, and there are no current plans for Pamela Isley aka Poison Ivy to make a live-action appearance just yet. However, that doesn’t mean there are not some ideas developing somewhere, especially when James Gunn has only revealed part of the first wave of DCU movies and TV shows, so there may always be an opening for Sackhoff to get her wish at some point.
The Mandalorian’s Third Season Has Brought Bo-Katan Back To The Main Story
Bo-Katan’s role in the third season of The Mandalorian was left as a mystery following the end of season 2, but it did not take long for Katee Sackhoff to be given a clearer role in Season 3. Having been seen briefly in the opening episode of the season, Bo-Katan has since joined forces with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin on his quest to Mandalore, and now back in favor as a Mandalorian, her journey is clearly going to be a big part of the series.
Having has a long history in the Star Wars franchise thanks to her role in The Clone Wars, Sackhoff’s inclusion in The Mandalorian is certainly good news for her fans. While there were some who believed that Bo-Katan’s presence in the show could be similar to that of Cad Bane in The Book of Boba Fett, it seems that she is not going anywhere. The Mandalorian’s creator Jon Favreau has previously said that the fourth season of The Mandalorian is already written but exactly what it holds for Bo-Katan is something that fans of the show may have a bit of a wait to find out.
For now, the current season of The Mandalorian is premiering new episodes every Wednesday on Disney+, with episode 6 due to premiere on April 5.
