‘The Furious’ Clip Proves Why It’s the Most Highly Anticipated Action Thriller of 2026

To save their loved ones, they will fight, well, everyone. And as a newly released clip reveals, their journey begins with fighting each other. This latest look at The Furious confirms once again why it’s the most highly anticipated action thriller event not just of the year, but in decades, with the footage teasing more of the elite martial arts spectacle on display.

After seemingly ordinary tradesman Wang Wei witnesses his daughter being kidnapped by a criminal network, and receiving no help from the corrupt police, he sets out on a rampage to find her himself. Along the way, he finds an ally in Navin – a relentless journalist whose wife has mysteriously disappeared. Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo will stop at nothing to track down their loved ones. And there will be blood.

Starring action superstars Xie Miao (My Father Is a Hero) and Joe Taslim (The Raid, Mortal Kombat) as Wang Wei and Navin, respectively, the newly revealed clip finds the pair in disagreement. But rather than using their words (because who wants to see that?), they instead decide to let their particular set of skills do the talking in a complexly choreographed battle of wills, fists, and feet.

For those who were not already aware, the footage demonstrates perfectly why both Xie Miao and Joe Taslim, the latter of whom gets to put his elite talent for Judo to good use, deserve to be genre icons, as well as why The Furious has fast become such an exciting action thriller prospect. Doing what many of the best fight scenes do so well, teaching you something about the characters, the sequence finds Wang Wei delivering slick strikes against Navlin’s engulfing grappling, with the pair sizing each other up throughout. As clips go, it’s the perfect encapsulation of the skill involved in bringing The Furious to life.

And said skill has indeed paid the bills, with The Furious now holding a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The upcoming martial arts action thriller has been hailed as “an instant masterpiece,” “one of the best action films of the decade,” and “an experiential event of a pure action onslaught that will cement The Furious as a new action classic for years to come,” after debuting at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival back in September last year. After an agonizing wait, The Furious is finally all set to hit theaters in the United States on June 12, 2026.
