The Flash Final Trailer & Posters Further Unleash the DC Multiverse

The final trailer for The Flash offers a further glimpse at worlds colliding as the DC universe unleashes its own multiverse of madness. Released officially courtesy of the DC YouTube channel, the footage provides an extended look at the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and how the Scarlet Speedster must unite with an aged Batman, played once again by Michael Keaton, in order to save, well, everything. Check out the final trailer for The Flash below.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe? Alongside the latest trailer, several new posters for The Flash have also now been unveiled…

Directed by Andy Muschietti (the IT movies, Mama), The Flash sees Ezra Miller reprise their role as Barry Allen in the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film. Of course, Barry won’t be totally alone in this adventure, with The Flash featuring ensemble cast that includes rising star Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl, Michael Shannon (Bullet Train, Man of Steel) as General Zod, Ben Affleck (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, and Michael Keaton (Batman Returns) as an alternate Bruce Wayne aka Batman.

The rest of the cast features Ron Livingston (Loudermilk, The Conjuring), Maribel Verdú (Elite, Y tu mamá también), Kiersey Clemons (Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Sweetheart), and Antje Traue (King of Ravens, Man of Steel).

Michael Keaton’s Batman Return Proved to Be an Emotional Experience

The Flash will see Michael Keaton return to the role of The Dark Knight after more than 30 years, and slipping back into the cape and cowl proved to be an emotional experience for the beloved actor.

“When [Keaton] arrived to the set, the Batcave was already finished and it was lit and everything. He stayed like this [eyes wide] for a while. I didn’t want to interrupt him. I just wanted for him to take it in,” The Flash director Andy Muschietti revealed. “Who knows what was going on there? But something was going on there. It was funny because at one point during the scene where we shot him in the full suit, he was like, ‘Can you take a picture? It’s for my grandson.’ It was one of those moments where he really showed something was inside that was very emotional.”

The Flash will be released in the United States on June 16, 2023, and early reactions to the DC outing have been overwhelmingly positive so far.
